Kepler-452b is the first near-Earth-size planet discovered around a sun-size star, located 1,000 light years from Earth, and was found on July 23, 2015. It is 60% larger than Earth and orbits its host star, Kepler-452, every 385 days; the star is 10% larger than our sun and about 6 billion years old. Considered a super-Earth, there is a better than 50% chance that Kepler-452b may be a rocky planet.
