Sea otters live along the Pacific coast of North America and use their flippers to swim. They eat various marine animals like octopi and shells. Sea otter mothers carry their young on their backs and will leave babies alone if they have multiple offspring. Humans historically threatened sea otters through hunting but laws now protect them, though pollution and oil spills remain dangers.

things that can harm the sea otter.

otters. We can help sea otters by not feeding them human food.

9. Sea otters use a rock to crack a shell or other
marine mammal with shells. Sea otters have
thick fur to protect them from the cold.
