Seals are a diverse group of mammals, with approximately 33 species primarily found in Arctic and Antarctic waters. They have unique adaptations, such as a layer of blubber and the ability to communicate through sound and movements, and they typically live 25 to 30 years. However, several species, including the Saimaa ringed seal and Mediterranean monk seals, are currently endangered.
