Mallard ducks have brown and white feathers and a white neck ring. They eat plants, invertebrates, and fish. Mallard ducks nest near rivers and their babies can swim, run, and find food shortly after hatching. Mallard ducks live in streams, marshes, and on farms, and will fly, swim, or camouflage themselves for protection from threats like raccoons and people. People can help ducks by not eating, feeding, or hunting them.
