 Jute is a long, soft, shiny plant fiber that can be
spun into corse, strong threads.
 Jute is a Ligno cellulosic, natural fiber ,also known
as Golden Fiber because of its golden texture.
 One of the Cheapest and strongest of all natural
fiber.
 India, Bangladesh, China are the leading
producers of Jute.
 India is the largest producer of jute goods in the
world, while Bangladesh is the largest cultivator
of raw jute.
 Mainly two types of Jute is available
Corchorus capsularies (White Jute)
Corchorus olitorius (Tossa Jute)

 Odour free
 Non carcinogenic
 Good handling property
 Easily available & Low Price
 Reusable.
 100% Bio-Degradable & ecofriendly .
 It has high tensile strength and better breathability.
 Jute has the ability to be blended with other fibres.
 Good Insulating and antistatic properties.
 Easy to repair.
 Resistance to tearing.
 Heavy load carrying capacity.
 Cheapest and easily available.
 Low Thermal Conductivity.
 Good UV resistivity.
 Stiffness.
 Easily attacked by insects.

 Higher gsm.
 Higher moisture absorption.
 Rice is a popular commodity consumed in various
homes across the globe. It is considered as a stable
food, as it is added to different meals and it provides
many nutrients and energy to the body. So rice need
the correct packaging to ensure that the products are
preserved and protected.
 The most commonly searched for feature of rice
packaging include, a packaging that can withstand
various weight capacities.
 According to the presentation we can say that Jute
has all the properties which are required to form a
good packaging material for rice. But now a days the
demand of jute bags is gradually deceases.
