This document provides guidelines for juicing fruits and vegetables safely and effectively. It recommends choosing either fruits or vegetables for each juice and not mixing the two. When juicing, only make one serving at a time to drink immediately. Select ingredients based on any specific health goals and avoid allergens or those that may interact with medications. The document also offers tips for preparing, separating ingredients into piles for each serving, lining the juicer bin with a bag for easy cleanup, and finishing with high water content items to flush the system.

My name is Dr Nancy Doreo. I have been a chiropractor incorporating holistic healing in my life and my practice since 1986. Juicing is a great way to feed your body concentrated nutrients that are easily absorbed. I will be sharing some tips and techniques that will make juicing easier, faster, and cleaner in order to fit this healthy tool into your busy life.
Choosing your veggies and fruits is important for both proper combining and desired outcome. Reviewing the benefits of individual fruits and vegetables before you start will help you prepare the best effect for your body. A few rules are ideal to follow, like, not mixing fruits and vegetables and, juicing melons alone. Read a few books by experts and take notes on what seems like the best combination for your personal needs. Combining foods properly allows for optimal digestion and absorption in the intestines. It can also minimize discomfort from indigestion or bloating when poor combinations are made.
Different juicers are available on the market. It doesn’t matter to me which style is used. I realize some people have very strong reasons for one or the other, but what really matters is that you take action and create fresh, raw healthy juice. Buy organic if you can; but if you cannot, well washed and prepped ingredients will still work. Do not make too much juice at once and store it in the refrigerator, too many of the nutrients are lost while sitting around. Your choices can influence the way your body digests, absorbs, and does all the things bodies are designed to do, including heal. If you are unsure, ask your doctor for some help with making the appropriate choices for your body.
You will be surprised how much easier juicing can be by creating portions for juicing that can be easily stored for daily use. Set up 3 or 4 days worth of juice and store in a bag or other container, this way your juicing will be faster, easier, and cleaner at each session.
Lining the receiving bin which catches the pulp means you do not have to wash the bin with each juicing, saving time cleaning up.
With this type of juicer, splatter is always an issue. To help keep your kitchen and clothing clean, simply place a shield in front of the spout. Plastic wrap, paper towels, and hand towels all work well for this purpose.
The juicer will stay a little cleaner on the inside if you finish the juicing process with the fruit or vegetable with a high water content and little-to-no color. Then a small amount of water while the juicer is still on will flush out the last bit of juice into your glass.
Finally, stir the juice before pouring to mobilize any sediment that you do not want to miss while pouring, and enjoy your healthy glass of fresh juice.
Since your debris went straight into a plastic bag, your bin is clean and you can easily add the contents to your composting pile or feed it to the rabbits in the yard.
Happy juicing for better health. I hope this has been helpful and informative. Thank you for listening.
