jQuery is an open source JavaScript library that simplifies HTML and JavaScript interaction. It allows selecting elements, performing actions on them such as adding/removing classes or showing/hiding, and handling events. jQuery is widely used by major companies and projects due to its small size, cross-browser compatibility, and large plugin ecosystem that extends its functionality.
This presentation covers some jQuery basics, as well as some general concepts you should understand about jQuery. You will find other tips and tricks sprinkled throughout before the live coding session starts.
The code from the live coding session is available here: https://github.com/dcneiner/jQuery-Bling and covers far more advanced topics than the slide portion of this presentation.
Things you should know about jQuery JavaScript library. A JavaScript library designed to hide painful cross-browser compatibility issues while presenting a solid, usable, API.
Flash over the years, has been used to prop up the regular browser like a sad old man drinking alone in a pub.
Today browsers come shipped with technology designed to rival flash and aim to shut it squarely out of the game.
Are browser ready to rock without Flash?
jQuery is a JavaScript library which allows you to develop solutions with less code, in less time. You can build interactive prototypes for your prospective clients, or take an existing solution and add new dynamic behaviour with little effort.
We will see how jQuery can be used to quickly and concisely apply JavaScript behaviour to your web app. It will cover selectors, Ajax, DOM manipulation and more. The aim: to produce lean unobtrusive JavaScript with jQuery.

Description:
This talk will be a quick but thorough introduction to the jQuery Javascript Library. If you have zero experience with jQuery, this is the talk to start with. We will begin with a brief overview of jQuery and its history. We'll then introduce basic jQuery concepts and principles. To wrap up the session, we'll build a basic jQuery plugin.
This talk will be composed mainly of live coding, showing off examples of how to work with jQuery.
The content of this talk will be quite a bit different from the jQuery training offered prior to the conference. Because of the available time, the training will explore jQuery concepts in great depth, while this talk will cover them briefly.

Reactive Type safe Webcomponents with skateJSMartin Hochel
This was presented at GUG Prague js dev meetup www.gug.cz/cs/akce/reactive-type-safe-webcomponents/terminy/1
You know the drill right? new cool framework/library appears... boom! new Datepicker in that framework follows and soon enough whole UI libraries, again and again....
It's 2017 and it's time to stop this madness once and for all! How you ask?
In this talk I will do an overview of component creation in terms of re-usability followed up with real life examples how to create performant, reactive, small and type-safe web components with tiny superpowered library called SkateJS.
Write once, use everywhere by using the platform.

Everything is Awesome - Cutting the Corners off the WebJames Rakich
The web is awesome despite it's detractors. But we can't forget our fundamentals when we're trying to forge ahead with new tech. This talk is about how to approach the building blocks of the web in a way that takes advantage of their strengths and avoids their weaknesses.
This is the Google Tech Talk that I gave August 17th, 2007 on building a JavaScript library. I derived much of the talk from my experiences in building the jQuery and FUEL JavaScript libraries.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

✦ An open source JavaScript library that
simplifies the interaction between HTML
and JavaScript.

Find Some Elements Do something with them
{
{
$(“div”).addClass(“special”);
jQuery Object
4. Keep Clean
✦ jQuery can be rename ‘$’:
var $jq = jQuery.noConflict();
$jq(“div”).hide();
✦ jQuery can even rename ‘jQuery’ allowing
multiple copies of jQuery to work side-by-
side.
✦ var $a = jQuery.noConflict(true);
// load other version of jQuery
$a(“div”).hide(); // still works!
5. Find Some Elements...
✦ Full CSS Selector 1-3 Support
✦ Better CSS Selector support than most
browsers
18. Chaining
✦ You can have multiple actions against a single set
of elements
✦ $(“div”).hide();
✦ $(“div”).hide().css(“color”,”blue”);
✦ $(“div”).hide().css(“color”,”blue”).slideDown();
19. Chaining (cont.)
