Jonathan Banda, ACMA, CGMA
I am an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants with over fifteen years of experience management accountancy,
business and financial analysis, and strategy development. I have worked in a
number of sectors including electricity and energy, information technology,
public accounting and business advisory services. I currently working as a
management accountant at Piotrans (REA VAYA) and I occasionally lecture
CIMA courses (finance strategy and strategic management ) at the Institute of
Management Accounting and Strategy (IMAS) in Johannesburg.

February 2014 – Senior Management Accountant, REA VAYA (Piotrans Proprietary
Limited) and CIMA Lecturer at The Institute of Management Accounting
and Strategy.
I am a management accountant for Piotrans (REA VAYA), responsible for:
• preparation and presentation of management accounts
• budgeting and forecasting
• facilitation of the budget process and providing assistance to business
units managers
• Performance review (actual compared with budget, variance analysis)
I also lecture CIMA courses at the Institute of Management Accounting

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the
Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), were joint partners on a
support mission in support of Department of Teacher Education to identity
procurement needs for the improvement of Initial Primary Teacher Education
programme for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
I was a technical expert on procurement management and primary roles
• Providing technical procurement support ensuring that GIZ procedures on
procurement are adhered
• Monitoring and ensuring that procured items are delivered to the right
institution
• Managing respective handover protocols.
