Teaching Philosophy
I believe that students should be taught to be knowledgeable of the practical application of mathematics and to
understand the mechanics of the mathematics language itself. Furthermore, students should be taught to utilize
critical thinking through mathematics, not just rote learning. Most importantly, students should understand that
both application and knowing the language of mathematics are necessary for both proper understanding of
mathematics itself and to be successful in any area of mathematics. It is through these criteria that students
become skilled and knowledgeable of mathematics.
