3. Creative Profiles
 Camera – The camera crew is a very important while
creating a film, they must be steady and gently with the
equipment. They must be creative as they need to use
varying shots and movement of the camera must not be
noticeable. Roles include Cameraman, Director of
photography, 1st assistant camera, 2nd assistant camera,
camera operator/ assistant, etc.
 Lighting – This is a very important job as it sets the mood
and the scene, if done incorrectly then the scene could
be ruined and production could be halted. They must be
creative as they can decide the mood and the mood can
set the impact on the audience. They require a crew as
well as a lighting technician, operator and even someone
to move the lights.

 Music department – The music department can be crucial
to set some scenes as it can create either a negative or
positive atmosphere. It must be creative to allow the
audience to be impressed, scared, happy in certain
scenes. Jobs include Composer, Supervisor, Song Writer,
Music Arranger, etc.
 Art Department – The art department can be important as
they help to create the sets and the sets help to display
where the film is located. They can encourage the
audience to be engaged during the film as it brings the
image to life. The department can be crucial in setting the
story as it is the most creative job available. Jobs include
Art Director, Production Designer, Set Director, Storyboard
Artist, etc.

 Sound – Recording sound on a set can be very important
as they help make the film seem realistic. They capture
the voices of the actors through use of things such as
boom operators and make sure all the equipment is
working properly. Their job roles include the likes of
Sound Designer, Sound Mixer, Boom Operator, Music
Editor, etc.
 Direction – This is the most important part as they see
the image and have overall decision on everything. They
make the brie plans and create the style of the film. They
set themselves aims in hope to achieve the best
production possible. Jobs include Director, 1st Assistant
Director, 2nd Assistant Director, Floor Runner, etc.

6. Casting Profiles
Casting – good casting in vital for a film to achieve success.
It is what can encourage the audiences to want to watch
the film. The directors often work with the casting directors
on other productions. The casting directors must audition a
range of actors until they find the perfect one for their film.
Jobs include Casting Director, Casting Assistant, etc.
Costume – The costume can be important during production
of the film. It helps to create the character. They are
responsible for fitting, hiring and designing the clothes. It
can provide the audience information about the timeline of
the character as well as the character itself. Jobs include
Costume Designer, Costume Maker, Wardrobe Supervisor,
etc.

7. Casting Profiles
Hair + Makeup – They are in charge of the hair styles for the film
as well as the make up. They are key in the design of the film.
The jobs include Make Up Artist, Hair Dresser, etc.
Performing – Actors must work with directors to create important
characters. How they move and act throughout the film is
important and vital for the film to be a success. Jobs include
Actor, Agent, Choreographer, Singer, etc.
Scripts – The Script is a key element in creating the film and
characters. It determines the characters attitude and how they
behave. It also helps to create the story and is needed before
a film can be created. Jobs include Script Writer, Script Editor,
Script Reader, etc.

8. Managing
Accounts – A financial resource must be carefully managed
by the accountants. In the film industry it is critical that all
the money must be used in duration to create the film. The
money must be handled with care otherwise the film could
go bankrupt and production could be cancelled. Job roles
for this include Production Accounting, Financial Controller,
Assistant Accountant, etc.
Health and Safety – It is very important that health and safety
is carried out as there are so many different regulations
made around it. The cast and crew must all be safe
throughout the process of creating the film unless
otherwise stated. Job roles include Health and Safety
Advisor, Paramedics, etc.

9. Managing
Location – Films are very rarely just shot in a set. Most the
time they require to go to a real location where there is
more space and natural environments/ lighting around
them. The location sets the film and it is vital for the film
that the perfect location is found. For many films the
location is cornered off so that the production of the film
can be carried out in private. Job roles include Unit
Manager, Location Manager, etc.
Distribution - This is important as it encourages the
audience to watch the film. Is displays the film in towns
via posters and adverts and attempts to attract as big of
an audience as possible to view the film. They must be
strategic and knowledgeable about promotions as there
are so many films out nowadays. This job includes
Distributors, Publicist, etc.

10. Managing
Exhibition Department – this is the final part of the film
production. They are what bring the finished production to
the audience. They are employed by many organisations
from big to small, it is a vital process to the film creation.
Jobs include Programmer, Projectionist, etc.
Transport – the transport department is important to the
recording of the film. They vary in price and often heap
ones are used for the film. They usually travel overseas
and take the cast and crew to different locations to film.
They also carry the equipment while with their vehicle so
that the film has everything it needs to be created. Jobs
include Transport Manager, Transport Captain, Unit Driver,
etc.

11. Editing + Sets
Editing + Post Production – Post production is the final stage
of producing a film. After filming is done, editing is used to
successfully create effects and transitions. Jobs include
Editor, Titles Designer, etc.
Props – This department is in charge of how all the props are
created and where they are placed, they work closely with
the art and construction department. Jobs include Props
Master, Prop Makes, Dressing Props, etc.
Construction – Similar to the art department the construction
build all the sets and decide how they want them designed.
Jobs include Construction Manager, Plasterer, etc.
