1. The Industrial Experimental Plant is a facility that allows knowledge agents, enterprises, and technology developers to collaborate on developing new products, processes, and technologies for the natural and artificial stone sector.
2. The plant has three technology areas - traditional stone processes, quality control processes, and confidential R&D processes. It aims to develop knowledge of stone transformation, train industry professionals, create collaboration spaces for enterprises, and transfer technologies to companies.
3. The plant has technologies for surface chemical treatment, mechanical treatment and texturing, stone block sawing, and composites formulation to further process and material development with a focus on parameter control and optimization. It has supported many successful collaborative projects.

The document discusses changes to routing in Rails 3 compared to Rails 2. Some of the key changes include removing the need to use "map" for defining routes and allowing routes to be defined with a block instead. It provides examples of defining root routes, resource routes, default routes, and using constraints. It also discusses redirecting routes, namespacing, and translating route paths. Finally, it proposes a mock routing task to create routes for a library application to manage books, employees, students and more.

The document discusses different types of websites and technologies used to build them. A normal website uses HTML to provide basic information like company overview and contact details. A dynamic website or web application uses a database and allows users to create accounts, purchase items, and interact with the site. Popular software to build websites include Microsoft Visual Studio, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Expression. HTML defines the structure and content of a webpage, while CSS controls the design and layout. The two work together to provide an attractive and functional design for websites.

Beveled and brushed surfaces are common across the collections.
A career in the geo-sciences involves studying the physical aspects of the Earth and searching for resources such as metals, minerals, and petroleum. Geoscientists usually specialize in one closely related field such as geology, hydrology, or geochemistry. A master's degree is required for most positions, though a bachelor's degree is sufficient to enter the field. Geoscientists need skills in GPS, GIS, communication, teamwork, and fieldwork, and there are always job opportunities available, especially for those with advanced degrees. Salaries average around $80,000 annually in the private sector and $94,000 in government roles.

This document discusses how to make enterprise IT more engaging by embracing social networks, BYOD, open source technologies, cloud computing as a philosophy, and DIY approaches. Some specific strategies mentioned include using social networks to create social intranets and help desks, embracing BYOD by supporting HTML5 responsive designs and dealing with Android complexity, leveraging open source tools like Ansible, Redis, and Solr Cloud, and empowering employees to build their own apps by opening up APIs. The overall goal is to move from a traditional "ugly" enterprise IT model to a more "sexy" and vivacious one that focuses on people over transactions and empowers knowledge sharing.

International Legal Research LexisNexis Academicstaffordlibrary
This document provides instructions for conducting international legal research using LexisNexis Academic. It outlines the steps to search for Canadian cases by entering terms, selecting sources and jurisdictions, and viewing full text. It also describes how to search for cases from the EU, Commonwealth and other nations by inputting terms, choosing a source and date range, and accessing full text decisions.
This document discusses listening, memory, and strategies to improve both. It outlines the stages of listening as sensation, interpretation, and evaluation. Challenges to listening include distractions, shutting out messages, rushing to judgment, and disabilities. Becoming an active listener involves setting purposes, asking questions, and paying attention. Memory is improved by limiting and organizing information, using critical thinking, seeing the big picture, and using strategies like reciting, rehearsing, writing, breaking study into sessions, and creating groupings. Mnemonic devices like visual images, acronyms, and songs can also aid memory.
The document summarizes the primary and secondary research methods used in the author's media coursework, including surveys, interviews, analysis of existing texts, and internet research. Surveys were conducted via Survey Monkey and distributed on Facebook. Interviews were conducted and filmed to collect qualitative data. Existing texts were analyzed to study conventions and compare products. Internet research involved sites like Wikipedia and Google, as well as previous student blogs. The methods were evaluated in terms of pros and cons, such as surveys being cheap and easy but difficult to get significant participant numbers.
The document discusses photo shots taken for the front cover and double page spread of a music magazine. It analyzes conventions for different types of images. Front cover shots usually show artists looking directly at the camera in mid or close-up shots. Double page spreads more often use casual long shots. The document examines its own shots taken and determines several could work for the cover while others are better suited to the more relaxed double page spread due to the artists' poses and facial expressions.
