Mark 1:21-28
Luke 4:31-37
John (no reference)
Mark
1:21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day
he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
1:22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one
that had authority, and not as the scribes.
1:23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he
cried out,
1:24 Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of
Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy
One of God.
1:25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of
him.
1:26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice,
he came out of him.
1:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among
themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine [is] this? for with
authority commandethhe even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
1:28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region
round about Galilee.
Luke
4:31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on
the sabbath days.
4:32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with
power.
Matt 7:28-29 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these
sayings, the people were astonishedat his doctrine: 29 For he taught them
as one havingauthority, and not as the scribes.
2. 2Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
4:33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an
unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
Not demon-possessed,but possessed with the devil or possessedof
the devil. (Not only that a man has a devil, but the devil has the man.)
Mark 5:16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was
possessed with the devil, and also concerningthe swine.
Luke 8:36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was
possessed of the devils was healed.
2Tim 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the
devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
The standard teaching is that a Christian can not be demon-
possessedbecause (1John 4:4)…greateris he that is in you, than he
that is in the world.
However, a Christian can yield his members as instruments of
unrighteousness.(Rom 6:13)
Satan cannot get the new man but, he can get fleshly members you
yield to him.
Rom 7:18-20 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no
good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is
good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I
would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do
it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
1Cor 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh,
that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Rom 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits
of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waitingfor the
adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
4:34 Saying, Let [us] alone; what have we to do with thee, [thou] Jesus of
3. Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy
One of God.

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith
without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou
4. believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and
tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is
dead?
