• The PebblePad e-portfolio tool will be your personal online
repository where you will store evidence of your learning activities
and assessment, reflect on your learning experiences, competency
achievements, and upload other types of artefacts (e.g. placement
photos, compounding records, counselling session videos etc.)

• In 2021 the JCU Pharmacy team is implementing
an e-portfolio for YOU our 1ST year pharmacy
students.
• You are the first cohort who are undertaking the
Pharmacy2021@JCU distributed model of delivery
and you are located across three campus locations,
Cairns, Townsville and Mackay.
Who will be using the e-portfolio
tool?

• We will be using the Pebble pad e-portfolio tool in conjunction
with a LearnJCU subject site and an online virtual classroom
(collaborate) as the three main online learning tools in this
pharmacy program.
• You will be provided with training and support in the use of these
tools in your pharmacy orientation sessions, in class activities and
residential workshops. In this video introduction the focus will be
on the e-portfolio tool.

How do I use this online e-portfolio tool?

• We have given the JCU pharmacy student e-portfolio a name and will use this acronym
MyPDP "Managing your Professional Development Portfolio.
• In your LearnJCU subject site you will see this icon and the acronym when selected
MyPDP activities need to be completed.
• Subject worksheets and workbooks will be aligned to identified subject learning and
assessment activities, industry placement tasks and other experiences that you will
undertake over the four years of your degree program.
Why is this e-portfolio called MyPDP?

• In Year 1 your first set of MyPDP activities will
be designed into PC1101/PC1102 subject
workbooks.
• In these workbooks there are worksheets with
learning activities and assessment tasks for you
to complete
• These will provide evidence of your competency
development and enable you to design and
collate collections of evidence and portfolio
presentations against the National pharmacy
competency standards (see image)

• Throughout your pharmacy degree a series of identified
subject learning activities and assessment tasks have
been designed into MyPDP worksheets and workbooks.
• You will complete these activities and tasks and save
these to your MyPDP by following the instructions
provided.
• The majority of your MyPDP tasks in YEAR 1 will be
completed in small groups and in class activities to
ensure you are comfortable using the e-portfolio tool and
are collating the evidence effectively.

• MyPDP Worksheets and workbooks will be directly
accessible in your LearnJCU subject site using links on the
weekly topic pages.
• You can also access your MyPDP using tablet and mobile
devices and easily upload evidence when off line (using the
pebble pocket app) all skills that will be demonstrated and
workshopped with you when they need to be used.
Where are MyPDP activities
located ?

• A pharmacist must demonstrate that they have
achieved competency to standards and guidelines
designed by the profession. There is a hierarchy of
guidance underpinning qualifications that is outlined
here.
• The pharmacy profession registration process
requires a registered pharmacist to undertake
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
throughout their career undertaking a number of
hours of professional development activities. This
life-long learning needs to be supported with
evidence of practice aligned to professional practice
standards.

• By Managing your Professional Development Portfolio
from year 1 in your pharmacy degree you will have
your OWN personal e-portfolio records of evidence
aligned to standards that can easily be updated and
added to as you collate CPD evidence post-
graduation.
• Your four year graduate use of the MyPDP will have
given you the experience and skills and knowledge to
design customized portfolios of evidence for future job
applications, internship activities and professional
registration requirements.
