INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR – VARIOUS CLIENTS – (2008 to 2013)

Policy Review
• Currently reviewing a backlog of Architects & Engineers Professional Liability policies to
    eliminate client exposure to potential errors and omissions claims and to address and
    upgrade professional standards.

Subject Matter Expert
• Hired as a subject matter expert on a project that identified key performance indicators and
   other operational metrics that will be used across all functional departments (sales,
   underwriting, loss control and operations) to assess the operational effectiveness of a mid-
   sized insurance company.

Risk Analysis
• Managed a project that informed clients of the costs and benefits of flood insurance on each
   of their buildings and contents within that was completed within 67% of the time allotted.

Process Improvement
• Served as a liaison between carrier underwriters and marketing reps and agency production
   and account management staff to enhance the quality and timely delivery of insurance
   policies and improve the quality and delivery of insurance services.
• Eliminated a backlog by systematizing the policy checking process to reduce the time
   required for each policy check. Completed this project within 75% of the time budgeted.

Compliance and Product Development
• Documented compliance of Limited Partnership properties and their Property Managers with
   required policy terms, conditions, limits, deductibles and loss settlement provisions, using
   current certificates of insurance. Compliance improved by 20%.
• Managed a rate revision and endorsement filing project for a Lawyers Professional Liability
   program with 47 state insurance departments. Researched state insurance statutes for
   writing state amendatory endorsements for Professional Liability programs and revised these
   endorsements to comply with new cancellation and nonrenewal regulatory requirements.
   Completed project one month sooner than anticipated.

Developed structured procedures to thoroughly review and analyze policies against binders and
expired policies; mentored and trained new employees on department procedures and technical
insurance matters; discussed potential coverage gaps with internal Client Advisors; documented
and discussed with clients potential program improvements. The goal was to improve the
efficiency of the policy review procedure and the quality of the insurance policies received by the
client to reduce errors and omissions claims filed by clients.
• Mentored employees on procedures for reviewing property and inland marine coverages that
     improved the efficiency of fellow associates in reviewing these policies by 25%.
• Consistently attained a monthly policy completion average 10% above all of the policy
     analysts in the office, with an accuracy rate of 99%, exceeding the 95% requirement.

• Created explanations of 12 complex policy provisions for insertion into transmittal letters to

• Designed insurance summary templates which captured the essential policy coverages,
     limits, deductibles, endorsements and other provisions in a concise, easy to read and follow

     claims reporting provisions, property coverage terms and conditions and variances between
     prior and current policies, so client advisory could more efficiently develop tailored
     transmittal letters to send to clients.

Subject Matter Expert • Hired as a subject matter expert on a project that identified key performance indicators and other operational metrics that will be used across all functional departments (sales, underwriting, loss control and operations) to assess the operational effectiveness of a mid- sized insurance company. Risk Analysis • Managed a project that informed clients of the costs and benefits of flood insurance on each of their buildings and contents within that was completed within 67% of the time allotted. Process Improvement • Served as a liaison between carrier underwriters and marketing reps and agency production and account management staff to enhance the quality and timely delivery of insurance policies and improve the quality and delivery of insurance services. • Eliminated a backlog by systematizing the policy checking process to reduce the time required for each policy check. Completed this project within 75% of the time budgeted. Compliance improved by 20%. • Managed a rate revision and endorsement filing project for a Lawyers Professional Liability program with 47 state insurance departments.
