Orb weaver spiders have eight legs and fangs containing venom. Their bodies contain a cephalothorax head and abdomen rear section. The cephalothorax contains eyes to hunt prey and fangs to bite and inject poison. The abdomen holds organs and silk glands to produce webs or egg sacs. Spiders uniquely spin webs to catch insects for food and have spinnerets that excrete liquid silk. Male orb weavers search for mates, signal females by vibrating female webs, and mate with females on threads at web edges.
