More  animals Insects are  invertebrates . Insects must have: Six legs . They usually have  wings  so they can  fly . They have an  antennae  to  smell  and  feel  things.
PARTS OF AN INSECT Not all tiny animals are insects. Spiders are not insects because they have eight legs. The beetle is an insect because it has six legs and an antennae. THE LIFE CYCLE OF A BUTTERFLY The butterfly lays  eggs. A  caterpillar  is born from an egg. It goes into a  chrysalis. A  butterfly  comes out of the chrysalis.
THE LIFE CYCLE OF A FROG An adult frog lays lots of  eggs. A  tiny tadpole  is born from an egg. The tadpole grows  legs  and a  tail. The tail disappears and the tadpole grows into a  frog .
AMPHIBIANS Amphibians  live in water and on land. Amphibians lay eggs in the water. Amphibians are vertebrates. Frogs are amphibians. Salamanders are amphibians, too. AMPHIBIANS
