  • #7 Historyextra.com is the official magazine for BBC (British Broadcasting Company). Cite Evaluation: BBC is a reliable source, as it is a public television broadcast company, that provides both shows and news for the United Kingdom. http://www.historyextra.com/podcasts?page=1Note: History Extra Podcast hyperlink is the link to the main website with various podcast to listen to. The podcast hyperlink is the link to a specific podcast on the ideologies of WWI.
  • #8 Cite Evaluation:The blog is a reliable source. The blog writer provides personal biography of his uncle, and includes copies of primary documents on the website within the blogs. http://wwar1.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2007-01-01T00:00:00Z&updated-max=2008-01-01T00:00:00Z&max-results=50
  • #9 Cite Evaluation: Crash Course with John Green is an reliable source that many teachers use in their lesson plans. John Green can also be found on Kahn Academyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XPZQ0LAlR4
  • #10 Cite Evaluation: http://www.gwpda.org/disclaim.html This link provides the disclaimer on where the Archives were originally from, so students can properly cite their sources found.
  • #11 The history channel is a reliable source, known for getting academic scholars in their particular field for information that they use in their videos, stories, and more.

  • #13 Diagram created using inspiration. How would this diagram/GO be used in an actual lesson?During a lesson, this diagram would be used to show the changing opinions about the US involvement in WWI, and the events that took place to cause public opinion to change and for the US to declare war. It also visually shows students that there was not one event, but multiple events that caused the United States to enter war. Also, dates are included in this graphic organizer to help students understand that public opinion in America gradually changed overtime, and that Congress did not wake up one morning and decided to declare war. This diagram would be printed out and handed to the students as a visual aide to look at while going over the particular topic in the lesson. The graphic organizer is meant to be a supplement to the class notes. Students are free to take extra notes on the graphic organizer, or within their own notebook. 2) How does this visual enhance student understanding of the topic? The graphic organizer gives the students a visual path on the reasons why the United States went from being neutral to declaring war during WWI. By having a synopsis of events organized this way, allows students to see the bigger picture, than if one was just to go through the timeline of WWI. Visually seeing the major causes of why U.S. eventually entered the war, can give students a deeper understanding of the United States entering the war, and why public opinion changed. Visually, it is a great way to help students organize their thoughts.
  • #14 PBS is an excellent website that provides lesson plans, worksheets, videos, as well as links to other websites about a particular topic. http://www.pbs.org/greatwar/resources/lesson.htmlA worksheet like this would be excellent for students to use as the lesson progressed, enabling them to keep track of what happened to each country involved in WWI
  • #15 Handout founded at: http://www-tc.pbs.org/greatwar/resources/handout8.pdf This handout is a great because it gives students a quick glance at who was involved in coming up with the treaty at the end of the war, what each one of these countries wanted and their goals, and the actuality of what happened. Its important for students to understand that although these countries were on the same side during the war, each one of these countries wanted to achieve a different outcome depending on their experience in the war.

  • #22 As a teacher, I can keep track of student’s progress and easily annotate on parts of their presentations while students are still working on it. By doing so, I can help students hand in their best work by being able to view their work at anytime. I can also view how much effort and time students put into their projects. Lastly, because WWI has many themes and topics that are widely researched, I would assign a group of students to do a research project on a specific topic, in which they would have to use voice thread plus other materials to complete this project. http://voicethread.com
