The open source nature of the project and its flexible network management capabilities make it an ideal SDN platform to integrate with Neutron.
In this session, OpenDaylight community members from Cisco, IBM, RedHat, and Ericsson will describe the OpenDaylight project goals and platform architecture, as well as the roadmap and progress to date. OpenDaylight brings together a number of virtual networking approaches, and we will discuss integration approaches with OpenStack Neutron that provide flexibility for OpenStack administrators and users. Details of our initial Neutron integration will also be demonstrated for attendees.
Attendees will leave this session with a greater understanding of what OpenDaylight is, and how it can integrate with OpenStack Neutron to provide a powerful SDN-based networking solution for OpenStack Clouds.

Securing the Software Supply Chain has become a focus of cybersecurity efforts the world over. One aspect of this is with the generation and verification of a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM). But what is an SBOM and how would you go about setting this up for your cloud native container/applications/pipeline?
The Flux team recently published a blog on this very topic and how they’ve gone about implementing these measures. During this session, Dan Luhring, OSS Engineering Manager at Anchore, will dive into SBOMs - what they are, why you need them, some common use cases and how to get your pipeline ready for SBOM generation and verification using the Flux SBOM as an example.

OpenStack and OpenDaylight, The Evolving Relationship in Cloud Networking: a ...Cisco DevNet
A session in the DevNet Zone at Cisco Live, Berlin. OpenStack is well established as the public/private cloud platform, abstracting compute, storage, and networking resources behind a unified set of APIs. OpenStack Neutron provides the lion's share of networking resources and seems sufficient for many small private cloud deployments. As scale increases and service providers with large network footprints come into the picture, new complications arise. Service provider networks have requirements and capabilities far beyond those addressable with Neutron. Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) has given rise to modular network controllers in the service provider space. OpenDaylight is the open source world’s answer, and service providers want to be able to marry OpenStack orchestration with OpenDaylight networking, as evident by the Open Platform for Network Function Virtualization project (OPNFV). Come learn how SDN controllers fit in this context vs. OpenStack with neutron drivers, when to use one when to use the other, and the benefits and functionality of each.

OpenStack “Liberty,” due for imminent release, represents the 12th release of the open source computing platform for public and private clouds. Recent OpenStack releases have focused on improving stability and enhancing the operator experience. This is still the case with Liberty, but there are still new features to consider.
Join Sean Cohen and Steve Gordon to review notable features of this new OpenStack release, including:
Network quality of service (QoS) support via a new extensible API for dynamically defining per-port and per-network QoS policies.
Mark host down API enhancement in support of external high-availability solutions, including pacemaker, providing resilient instances in the event of compute node failure.

The presentation will describe the OpenNebula project for data center virtualization, with a focus on how to deploy OpenNebula-based private clouds and its unique features to tune and adapt it to any technology in the cloud and virtualization ecosystem.
The target audience are developers and IT administrators interested in deploying a private cloud solution, or in the integration of OpenNebula with other projects. The talk will be useful for both people with experience or without prior knowledge of OpenNebula, as it will start by introducing the project and its main features, along with a quick demonstration. Although this is not a hands-on tutorial, by the end of the presentation attendees will have a comprehensive idea of the integration and customization capabilities of OpenNebula in different areas, like user authentication, virtualization, storage, networking, etc.
The industry needs cloud solutions built on an open, extensible architecture that delivers consistent access to infrastructure, runtimes and application resources. As customers continue to adopt cloud service-based solutions, they need to avoid vendor lock-in, simplify building of complex cloud environments, and quickly develop cloud-ready applications that drive massively scalable cloud models.
Looking for a way to deploy a stable OpenStack Cloud Environment with Opendaylight at ease? This session is about learning to deploy a Cloud environment with OPNFV Fuel deployer. Fuel is a deployment tool which deploys a wide variety of distributions with third party plugins like OpenDayLight, while abstracting out complexities of the deployment. The intent of this session is to familiarize deployment of OpenStack with OpenDaylight.

The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
