It shows how ISO 21001 overcomes some of the chief criticisms and limitations of applying ISO 9001 to the field of education, and discusses the principles on which the standard is based. Additionally, it briefly presents the structure of the standard, and discusses how it may be used in conjunction with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA to fit within an international framework of standards applicable to education.
