In this document, a teacher demonstrates how they meet the standards for educational leadership. For standard 1, the teacher discusses developing a shared vision with students and using data to identify goals and monitor progress. For standard 2, the teacher focuses on sustaining a collaborative culture, following the curriculum, assessing students, and using technology. For standard 3, the teacher explains how they ensure a safe learning environment, obtain necessary resources, and encourage distributed leadership. Finally, for standards 4 through 6, the teacher discusses collaborating with families and the community, acting with integrity and fairness, and advocating for students.

1A. - As part of our Leader in me program
each classroom got the chance to develop
and implement a shared vision and
mission statement. The students played a
role in creating a mission statement as a
class and an individual piece.
1B, C, D.- In our PLC teams we have been
able to collect data and identify our goals.
We input our data in our CSIP plans, and
we promote continuous growth through
our collaboration. We meet on a weekly
basis to discuss our goals, and how we can
help our students succeed.
1E. In our third grade PLC team we
monitor and evaluate our progress by
using the same assessments, and
discussing our current and future goals.

2A. In my classroom I sustain a culture of
collaboration, trust, and high expectations.
The students understand what my
expectations are and I am consistent with
the consequences they receive in my
classroom. The students know they are
loved and cared for.
2B,C,D,E,F. As a third grade teacher I
follow the Utah core curriculum and offer
extensions to the students who
understand the concepts. In our PLC team
we collaborate about our assessments,
lesson plans, and behaviors that affect our
students’ learning.
2G, H I. In my third grade team we follow
our GVC’s and we hold each of our
students accountable for their own
learning. We have designed a spreadsheet
which allows the third grade teachers to
assess the students and keep track of
student learning.

management of the organization,
operation, and resources for a safe,
efficient, and effective learning
environment.

3A. As a third grade teacher I feel like I
have my room designed for the proper
management status, and I monitor and
evaluate my students on a daily basis. We
learn and grow from each other.
3B. I align and make proper use of the
resources that are available to my
students and I . If there is a need for
certain materials for my students’
education I know who I can ask for
funding or assistance.
3C. I am aware of my students and their
needs. I make sure they are learning in a
safe environment. We practice monthly
drills with the faculty and other students.
They know the procedures for safety and
where to go if an emergency arises.
3D, E. In my classroom I encourage
distributed leadership. Each student has a
role they take part in. They are leaders and
they set an example for the school. We
follow a schedule and I am consistent with
our schedule and instruction.

communicate with my Spanish -speaking
parents on a daily basis. I foster positive

5A. In my classroom each student has
their own student binder. They are
responsible and accountable for their own
learning. They are able to graph, evaluate,
and reflect on their school -work.
5B,C. Through my modeling my students
know what my expectations are. I model
proper ethical behavior and am fair with
each of my students. I share many of my
own experience to help them to grow.
They know that I value and appreciate
each one of them. Through my love and
patience they know that I will help them to

C. Asses, analyze, and anticipate

in order to adapt leadership
strategies.
6A. I provide the assistance that each of
my student’s need. I have established a
positive relationship with the students,
families, and caregivers. They know that I
will help them with their educational
goals. I am a teacher, friend, and counselor
to my community.
6B.C. I meet with my third grade team on a
weekly basis to make decisions for our
students, and set educational goals. We
analyze our lessons and assess our
teaching. We form interventions and
extensions for all of our students. I plan
and teach many leadership strategies to
my students, and staff.
