The document discusses an experimental study on strengthening reinforced concrete beams using glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) wrapping. Seven beam specimens were tested - one control beam and six beams wrapped with GFRP sheets with varying numbers of layers and orientations. The GFRP wrapping improved the beams' ultimate load capacity, energy absorption, and ductility compared to the control beam. Beams wrapped with three layers of GFRP in a U-shape or along the bottom showed the highest increase in ultimate load capacity of 42.5% and 25%, respectively, compared to the unwrapped control beam.
