Why Study an IT course?
 Suitable for students who have an interest in computers
  and technology in general
 Any student can enrol. There is no requirement that you
  have completed a Computing course in the junior school.
 Students in senior courses gain an understanding of the
  widespread use of IT systems in entertainment, education
  business and commerce.
 A starting point to a wide range of employment
  opportunities in the information technology field.
Information Processes and Technology
 Information Processes and Technology is a 2 Unit course that focuses
  on the study of computer based information systems in the real world
  from business through to entertainment.
 The core topics focus on the information processes performed by these
  systems and the information technology that allows them to take place.
  It als0 examines the impact of technology on people and their way of
  life.
 Different types of information systems are studied eg banking,
  retailing and government organisations like the RTA.
Option topics are also studied as part of the course and give students
the opportunity to study the following systems:

1. Information and Control Systems (Robotics)
Students examine control systems used in industry and around the
home. Robotic project work is completed by students using LEGO
Mindstorms materials and NXT software.
2. Multimedia Systems
A wide range of multimedia systems in publishing and entertainment are
studied. Students create a multimedia project as part of this topic utilising
Adobe Flash, Photoshop and Adobe Premier software. An example is on
the top of the Subject Selection website for this subject.
