2. Many people have said that they would want to
take photos of nature or natural scenery such as
sunsets and animals. Some people have said
that they may be interested in taking pictures of
other people or themselves such as sports
photography or general photography.
Half of my target audience see themselves
within a future career in photography this is very
helpful as I can base my research on careers
withing photography. As we can see people are
interested in film making, influencing and
cinematography. I may use this in my product so
that I can fully aim at my target audience and
get their attention witch what I will be producing
.
3. From these results we can see
that more people are aged
between 15 and 17 and majority
of people are male. Compared
to the majority of the population
48% female and 54% male.
From the results gathered I can
clearly see that my target
audience have used canon
products and cameras before
which is very helpful when
researching this product.
However 50% of people prefer a
phone to a camera. The main
feedback I got from this was that
a camera is too bulky to carry
and that a phone is easier to
store. As well as this many
people would not be able to
afford a good quality camera
either.
4. WHY I DID THE INVESTIGATION INTO MY TARGET
AUDIENCE. – ANALYSIS
I did this research as I wanted to clearly understand my target audience, as well as this I
also wanted to know how they felt about using specific technology. For example I asked
if they preferred phones or cameras. There was an equal split of people that likes
phones and cameras, however when I asked why people why they didn’t use cameras,
they explained that they're more bulky and harder to carry. I feel as though this
feedback has given me enough information to know that I have to propose a smaller
camera that produces great images so that it is easy to carry around and can capture
things in nature such as animals or scenery.
5. QUESTIONS FOR MY FOCUS GROUP
1. For a further depth answer I am going to ask what things they like to take photos of and
why
2. I will ask if they prefer camera or a phone, and why as it was 50/50 on my forms
3. What they like about cameras
4. What they have previously done with them
5. If they can afford them
6. Further aspirations.
6. ANALYSIS FOR MY FOCUS GROUP
In my focus group I have learned about my target audience in ore depth. I asked them
personal questions on how they feel about certain products. I made sure I asked the
individuals in my focus group if they preferred a phone or a camera as in my teams form
it was 50/50
I then discovered that people preferred a phone as it was more efficient to carry and
travel with. I also wanted to understand if they have previously used cameras before and
many of them had used them to take photography of animals as well as in their college
coursework. This is very helpful as I can possibly aim my products at media students who
would use cameras for work as well as photography students. I want to propose cameras
that can be used professionally as well as personally. I will make sure that the camera is
small however still includes the qualities of a bigger camera. I finally asked if anyone had
further aspirations within a media based career or photography based and many people
were unsure or either didn't want to use these skills, however a camera would still be
useful for personal things such as taking pictures with friends as one of my target
audience mentioned (Maddie, 17)
