Achieving High Performance DevOps: A Roadmap for Managers and Decision MakersVlado Barun
Is your Org struggling to increase the pace of deploying changes?
Do you feel like you are rolling the dice when deploying changes?
Are you content with the current State of Affairs or do you aspire to raise your game by several levels?
Finally, are you willing to make the required sacrifices to achieve high performance DevOps?
Warning:
This session is NOT about the latest/coolest set of technologies that promise to solve your problem.
This session is NOT about a product you can buy.
This session is about recognizing and understanding the First Order Principles that underlie successful DevOps.
Based on this we are going to develop a set of goals, how to measure them and specific steps on how to achieve them.
Furthermore, we will discuss the pitfalls that derail so many Organizations in this endeavor, how to circumvent them and even turn them into opportunities.
However, be advised, this session is not for those that look for an easy & quick solution.
The session is intended to be interactive, and challenge the way you think.
If you are willing to have an open mind and put up the extra effort, by the end of this session, we are going to have built a roadmap with goals and specific steps that lead to High Performance DevOps.
Machine Learning to Turbo-Charge the Ops Portion of DevOpsDeborah Schalm
Already on a continuous or short-cycle delivery? Constantly rewiring your apps with microservice and similar architectures? Maintaining visibility and maximizing service levels once this stuff gets into production could be a regular nightmare. Coding instrumentation into your apps is time-consuming and error-prone. Instead, let machine learning do the work of adapting your monitoring to your fast-moving application environments. In this webcast learn about various types of machine learning that are optimized for operational data, and see in a demo how this could be leveraged to ensure your ops move as fast as rest of your DevOps pipeline.
The document describes Oracle Management Cloud (OMC) and its capabilities for monitoring packaged applications like Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS). It provides a complete 360 degree visibility into the EBS infrastructure including application dashboards, infrastructure monitoring and topology-aware log exploration. OMC allows rapid problem isolation, proactive monitoring of end user experience, and diagnosis of issues with the Concurrent Manager. The unified cloud-based platform provides these capabilities with minimal overhead to maximize monitoring uptime.
This overview provides insight into the ODA Engineered System. It outlines how the ODA is: Simple, Optimsed and Affordable to implement for all organisations.

The document discusses new features in MySQL 8.0, including a MySQL document store for working with JSON documents, improved JSON support with new functions, full Unicode support, and a transactional native data dictionary. Performance tests showed MySQL 8.0 was 40% faster than MySQL 5.7 for a read-only OLTP workload using utf8mb4. Additional features included in MySQL 8.0 are common table expressions, window functions, and configuration changes to make MySQL more cloud friendly.
But I Did What I’ve Always Done and Ended Up Over Budget and Under Expectationseprentise
The team wanted to do a reimplementation because we wanted an opportunity to redesign our business processes, eliminate customizations, standardize our data across the enterprise, take advantage of new EBS features, and clean up our data. We have brought many countries into our Oracle environment, and have a great deal of experience in converting data with a highly-skilled team. The reimplementation was much more than we bargained for, and not in a good way.
This webinar with Jeff Dunford, Vice President of Apps Associates, reviews some of the challenges of a reimplementation and migrating data though some real-life experiences from a system integrator’s perspective and lessons learned across many different clients.

The most enduring collaborations in many companies are between finance and IT teams. Collaboration has become more critical as an increasing number of finance and IT teams perceive the cost burden of underlying infrastructures, and especially core databases, are weighing down budgets. Premium investments in commodity database technology, for example, constrain investments in cloud, mobile, and analytics, which are used to drive value in brand, usability, and consumerization.
This presentation discusses the strategies and resources are available to enable your finance team to partner with your colleagues in IT to:
- Identify new technology that meets enterprise standards and reduces the cost burden of underlying applications infrastructure,
- Change the game on restrictive database-driven ULAs to break vendor lock-in and free up resources and
- Set up a migration workflow to rapidly move applications off proprietary database technology, or outsource the project to global integration partners.

Real-life Customer Cases using Data Vault and Data Warehouse AutomationPatrick Van Renterghem
This document discusses rules for implementing a Data Vault data warehouse using automation. It provides examples from healthcare sector projects where a Data Vault model, automation tools, and metadata management were used. The rules advise: 1) using automation for Data Vault due to high object counts, 2) not defining a single truth version initially, 3) recording all source data, 4) limiting automated logic to the foundation layer, and 5) placing appropriate business logic in the right layers. The examples demonstrate implementing raw and business Data Vault layers at different speeds.
Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
