1. Impact of Blended Learning to the Mental Health of the students of PMCHS
The Covid-19 pandemic brought rapid changes in the whole world and everything was
affected, even our educational system. Face to face classes have been quickly and surprisingly
changed into online classes, and now, blended learning was brought up and suggested into
various government departments and sectors. Blended learning was suggested as many
believed that it is the most effective type of class at our current situation or what we call the
now normal. Blended learning combines the best of two training environments—traditional
face-to-face classroom training and high-tech eLearning. By covering all the bases, you can
engage all types of learners—those who learn better in a structured environment that includes
face-to-face interaction with an instructor, and independent types who learn better with semi-
autonomous, computer-based training (ELM Learning, 2021). Moreover, blended learning is
applied generally in the practice of the utilization of both online and in-person learning
experiences.
Mental health is an important factor just like the physical health; it is always one of
those things that we should consider the most when it comes to our well-being. And as they
say, a healthy mental health is interconnected with a healthy physical health. Mental health
includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and
act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental
health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood
(MentalHealth.gov, 2020).
2. Given that all learning strategies and styles have impacts on the students’ mental
health. Blended learning will surely has an impact too when it comes to the mental health of
the students; it is either good impacts or a bad one. Thus, this qualitative study will focus on
finding these impacts, particularly on the students of Porac Model Community High School
(PMCHS).
