Final year project ideas for electrical engineering eepowerschool.comMuhammad Sarwar
Final year project is the ultimate achievement of an electrical engineering graduate. The idea
of a final year project is to practically implement the technical and professional skills learned.
Graduates work on different final year project ideas. The title of an FYP should be novel and
the project must have a positive impact on the society. Many students choose their FYP topic
in a haste, and at the end of completion, it’s no good for them. So, choose your final year
project wisely and give a lot of thinking while choosing final year project ideas for your
electrical engineering degree.
This post gives a complete list of final year project ideas for electrical engineering students. A
short summary (or synopsis) of the project has also been given to get the complete
understanding of the project. The summary contains a short introduction, methodology and
project outcomes.
Undergraduate students of BSEE are encouraged to pick a topic that would implement a novel
research idea. Though, only simulations can also be used instead of a design project. Various
simulation softwares are available to implement the FYP e.g, Matlab/Simulink, Power World
Simulator, ETAP, Digsilent PowerFactory, PSCAD etc.
In this project, main focus is to develop high power density and high efficiency converter with closed loop control for attaining load and line regulation. Complete converter was simulated in PSIM and implemented hardware in CEERI lab.
Pre Final Year project/ mini project for Electronics and communication engine...Shirshendu Das
Mini project for Electronics and communication engineering (ECE) to build an AC to DC power supply using Full Wave Rectifier having input as 220-240V AC and giving stable filtered output of 5V, -5V & variable 5V DC. Simulation of the circuit was done in Proteus design suite.
- The objective of this project is to make a smart solar panel which is follow the sun light. Solar panel converts sun light into electricity. It is eco-friendly and low-cost energy. But the solar panel is unable to move in front of the light source, hence solar panel not produces electricity of its full capacity. Solar panel is unable to move, it is fixed at one position. If we want full energy output from solar panel thenwe need to move manualy solar panel in front of the sun light
In this project,
This report aims to let the reader understand the project work which I have done. A brief introduction to Solar Panel and Solar Tracker is explained in the Literature Research section. Basically the Solar Tracker is divided into two main categories, hardware and software. It is further subdivided into six main functionalities: Method of Tracker Mount, Drives, Sensors, Motors, Data Acquisition/Interface Card and Power Supply of the Solar Tracker is also explained and explored. The reader would then be brief with some analysis and perceptions of the information.

CONVERTING SOUND ENERGY INTO ELECTRICITY USING PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIAL: A STUDYIAEME Publication
In the search for alternative energy sources there's one form of energy you don't hear much about, which is ironic because I'm referring to sound energy. sound is a mechanical form of energy which travel in the form of wave, mechanical wave that is an oscillation of pressure this pressure created by the sound could be used to convert it into electric energy or other form of energy.
The field of power systems operation and control including renewable energy (RE) along with power, quality is considered as one of the major technical challenges among the researchers and practicing engineers. Several types of renewable energy resources are available on earth such as solar, wind, Geo-thermal, hydro, etc. The foremost resources of renewable energy are - Sunlight and Wind. The wind energy is always a center of attraction for power engineers. In the wind energy system, the pitch angle of turbine blades is playing an important role in controlling the power output of the system. The pitch angle imposes two types of control on the wind turbine system: aerodynamic torque and the rotational velocity of the turbine system. These parameters directly affect the performance of the wind power generation system in terms of the profile of power, voltage, and current. Conventionally, PID control-based system modeling has been used to evaluate the optimal pitch angle for a given wind pattern. However, PID based Pitch Angle Identification require regular tuning against variation in wind velocity and significant large time for tuning. Thus, Artificial Intelligence could provide a better solution in comparison to PID Based tuning strategy. The present work shows the evaluation of the optimal pitch angle of the wind turbines for variable wind velocity using the Fuzzy Logic Control Strategy. The test results are obtained by MATLAB Simulink modeling of the wind power generation system. The simulation shows that fuzzy logic control will provide an optimal pitch angle to obtain more efficient solutions. The existing fuzzy control-based simulation model solutions can be utilized as a testbed for evaluating the optimal pitch Angle of any geographical region. In the present work, the optimal pitch angle of Various Geographical regions of India.

The need of running AC Loads on solar energy leads us to the design of Solar Power Inverter.. Since the majority of modern conveniences all run on 220 volts AC, the Power Inverter will be the heart of the Solar Energy System. It not only converts the low voltage 12 volts DC to the 220 volts AC that runs most appliances, but also can charge the batteries if connected to the utility grid as in the case of a totally independent stand-alone solar power system. These are special inverters which are designed to draw energy from a battery, manage the battery charge via an onboard charger.
An inverter is an electrical device that converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC); the converted AC can be at any required voltage and frequency with the use of appropriate transformers, switching, and control circuits. Solid-state inverters have no moving parts and are used in a wide range of applications, from small switching power supplies in computers, to large electric utility high-voltage direct current applications that transport bulk power. Inverters are commonly used to supply AC power from DC sources such as solar panels or batteries.

How to cook up meaningful innovation with an innovation lab.
The way businesses need to organize and behave has fundamentally shifted. Across industries, companies, and organizational functions, we have heard many of the world’s most innovative companies echo the same challenge: businesses must urgently embrace a more nimble and entrepreneurial approach in order to stay competitive. We call this challenge of how big companies can leverage scale while staying innovative “big entrepreneurship.” Incubating Innovation is one of five pieces in our report, Big Entrepreneurship, aimed at deconstructing some of the complex challenges around big entrepreneurship and provide actionable insights for business leaders.
This report was created by Fahrenheit 212, a global innovation strategy and design firm. We define innovation strategies and develop new products, services, and experiences that create sustainable, profitable growth for our clients. We challenge the belief that innovation is inherently unreliable and have spent the last decade designing the method, building the model, and assembling the minds to make innovation a predictable driver of growth for our clients' businesses.
Emerging opportunities for business in the Internet of Things landscapeClaro Partners Inc.
The Internet of Things (IoT) presents a rapidly growing opportunity for companies in the technology space. However, the ecosystem of the IoT is complex, fragmented and has many dimensions (products, services, companies, geographies). Claro Partners recently completed a project to understand the Internet of Things landscape as it stands now, and to identify opportunity spaces within it. In this session we will build on this research to argue that the future of the IoT lies in value-added services built across platforms and devices, that create meaningful experiences and enhance people’s lives.
We have created an interactive Internet of Things business landscape, mapping 350 initiatives across 100 value propositions. Through this map, we will preview the vast landscape of value propositions across the IoT and the new business models they launch. We will uncover the opportunities that arise when creators look beyond simple track-and-trace applications or remote-control mechanisms and make the leap towards products which offer emotional benefits to users and enable meaningful object-mediated dialogues between people.

Internet of Things: Opportunities for designing new experiences, capabilities...Claro Partners Inc.
Presented at WebVisions Chicago 2013
Discussion around the Internet of Things (IoT) often gets caught up on resolving issues of interoperability, battery life and security. However, in this session we will shift the focus to the enormous potential of valuable services built by designers, developers and users on top of the connections, data and networked objects. We'll outline our vision of how the IoT will develop and grow from the bottom-up and propose that while another appliance manufacturer redesigns the internet-connected fridge (again), networks of people will create new IoT experiences and capabilities themselves, enabled by the power of digital networks, accessible tools, new funding channels and programming fluency.
In fact, this ecosystem is already emerging, and we will show the vast landscape of value propositions in the IoT and the new business models they bring with them. We will also look at how services in the IoT can be designed to enable different technological capabilities as well as meet a range of human needs, uncovering the opportunities that arise when designers look beyond simple track-and-trace applications and control mechanisms to products which offer emotional benefits like the Good Night Lamp or Berg's Little Printer.
In the presentation we are sharing our perspective based on emerging business research and interviews with experts and IoT creators.
Our perspective is summarised in the following key points:
1. The Internet of Things is nascent… like the internet in 1995, the IoT is just getting started. Actually it's mostly a collection of non-connected Intranets of Things
2. The IoT will be built by many different players with many different roles
3. The real value of the IoT will not come from the technology itself, but the services built on top and enabled by it
4. A significant part of the IoT will evolve from the bottom-up, by entrepreneurship
5. IoT-enabled services are complex because they have both physical and digital elements and need to deliver an experience that bridges the two
To conclude:
•The big value of the Internet of Things isn’t in the connection of devices, but in the services for people that are built on top of those connections
•To create those products and services will require a broad mix of expertise
•Many of the Internet of Things products and services will be built by makers, hackers, entrepreneurs
In the talk we also introduce a couple of tools that help IoT creators discover opportunities and create and prototype IoT offerings.
They are:
IoT emerging business landscape
The interactive IoT landscape mapping 400+ startups and initiatives, structured across 10 business and consumer facing verticals and 5 types of enablers. The IoT landscape shows the vastness, variety, and scope of the Internet of Things and is a key tool to identification of new opportunity spaces.

Over the last two years we have had several discussions with our clients about IoT and wearable projects, some more advanced than others. However, many of these projects never happen and there is a pattern emerging around why organisations are struggling to get these projects off the ground. In this talk I will share our experiences and the patterns we have seen, along with some key considerations for us on how to more effectively package these projects if we really want to do them.

NEW HUMAN CAPABILITIES IN A DYNAMIC WORKPLACE
Point of view document December 2015
Large organisations are experimening with implementing lean methodologies, design thinking and open innovation to step up their innovation capabilities. However, these practices are not simply 'out of the box' processes that can be adopted into the current work model. To leverage their potential, we need a whole new way of working that is customer centric, commercially disciplined, and experimental.
Claro Partners set out to understand this new way of working by talking to and immersing into new types of organisations that are forging new human capability practices. We focused on three key elements of human capabilities to support new innovation practices: a new organisational design, a new type of employee, and a new work experience. This document shares our perspective on why organisations need a different way of working and describes how to achieve this through reframing the way we think about these three key elements. It's based on our own practice and research around the world with leading organisations.
Home-based records (HBRs) are a vital tool that can support countries in achieving and sustaining high levels of vaccination coverage.
However, many countries continue to face challenges, including low retention rates by parents, difficulties in the printing and distribution of the document, and training health workers in its appropriate use.
The goal of this Home-based Records Revitalization Workshop was to improve the design and functionality of countries’ home-based records, with a focus on both the design of the record and the system that supports it.
The focus on immunization was chosen as an opportunity to demonstrate a systemized approach that can be applied to other elements of integrated health systems and materials.
The workshop focused on improving:
1. The design of the record from the immunization program perspective.
2. The broader system that supports the HBR, from approval and production to distribution and use.

Translating deep understanding of human need into scalable insights
Rapid change, increased interconnectivity and rising socioeconomic complexity make it increasingly difficult for corporations to stay relevant to their users in the long term.
Claro will build on our findings from the urban mobility research to illustrate how corporations need to move from solving immediate problems, to problem exploration.
By combining our understanding of human needs from our ethnographic research and mapping out global emerging value propositions, Claro has developed actionable tools and frameworks to create unique solutions in the urban mobility space. The tools and frameworks developed by Claro are not necessarily industry specific, and this makes them ideal when scalability is needed across industries and geographies to influence large scale issues.

Five Misconceptions about Personal Data - Dataconomy Barcelona -Claro Partners Inc.
The vast amounts of personal data that we produce (email, text, search, payments...) has been triumphantly declared a “new asset class” by the WEF and compared to oil as the world’s newest economic resource. This has sparked a frantic race to gather it.
This gold rush obscures the real value of personal data, and forgets a fundamental rule of innovation: start with the person. Why has this basic principle been largely absent from our obsession with big data?

Service Design for networked business models - Presentation at Design Confere...Claro Partners Inc.
With increased connectivity, networks at both a global and local level are growing rapidly whilst new communities can develop and flourish through digital channels. These allow for resources to be shared, swapped, borrowed and traded; bearing a new economy that favours access over ownership.
This is a dramatically different user experience context that demands a transformation of our approach to service design. In this session we will share findings from our global research that explored the experiences and opportunities involved in moving from an ownership economy to one built on access and sharing. In this presentation we present guidelines for creating value exchange networks and share some tools we’ve developed for creating networked services and business models in the sharing economy.

The IoT lab is brought to you by:
3. #iotlab @claropartners
What is the IoT Lab about?
• It’s a dynamic, hands-on workshop to
inspire creativity when designing new
connected products and services.
• It’s about solving for people’s needs,
not about searching for applications for
sensor technology.
• It’s about practising Product and
Service Design – in the context of the
overlap of the physical and digital
worlds.
4. #iotlab @claropartners
How do the teams work together?
• The teams combine people with different
backgrounds:
• Designers
• Makers
• Strategists
• Developers
• Work together, using our insights, tools and
frameworks to design and develop an IoT-enabled
concept (product, service, business
model)
• Collaborate and move forward: You will pitch
in less then three hours and have 5 minutes to
showcase your final concepts at 4pm on
Thursday.
5. #iotlab @claropartners
How will you go about creating the concepts the following two days?
EXPLORE
Teams to explore potential challenges which will be starting points for
your IOT concepts
IDEATE + PITCH
Choose and pitch an IoT-enabled solution that your team will develop
further during the weekend
DEVELOP
Build out the details of the concept: service diagram, who is it for, tech
considerations, physical and digital aspects, business model etc.
PROTOTYPE
Prototype the product and service in any way you like, to demonstrate
how it works and its value to people
FINAL PRESENTATION (4pm Thursday)
Present your concept to the rest of the Lab participants in the closing
session (5 minutes presentation + 5 minutes questions)

e.g. FiddleNet: helps a violin
player to improve playing
• Sensors on the student’s violin
pick up the sounds coming from
the violin, as well as the motion
of the bow.
• This data is visualised on a
screen, which gives the student
real-time feedback.
