This document provides an agenda and notes for a webinar on introducing dual language programs. The webinar will include an overview of current research on dual language education, a review of essential components of dual language programs, and resources to support planning and implementing dual language programs. The webinar notes describe two types of bilingual education programs: a green program that aims for high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, providing at least 50% instruction in Spanish from kindergarten through 5th grade, and a blue program that focuses on English language proficiency, providing limited Spanish instruction and moving toward majority English instruction.
