Language Styles for the Deaf Progress Report
Fifteen deaf college students from the CAP College for the Deaf participated in a study on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays that examined the effects of an interpreter's knowledge and the style of sign language used on the students' understanding. The study involved three experimental conditions, with five students in each, and used a stress management module divided into three sessions with activities, along with a 15-item multiple choice questionnaire after each session to measure understanding. Two interpreters, Ms. Girlie and Ms. Daudet, interpreted the sessions in different sign language styles.
