This paper discusses a long-term project aimed at raising awareness among IT practitioners in the Swiss French region regarding the usefulness of ethnographic observation techniques for eliciting requirements. The project involves active pedagogy sessions incorporating role-play and debriefing, which have been conducted at industry events since 2012, allowing participants to engage in concrete experiences linked to real-world situations. The authors share insights and lessons learned from these sessions, highlighting the importance of experiential learning in effectively gathering detailed IT system requirements.
