The Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum is located in Daxi District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It highlights the over 200-year history of woodcraft in Daxi, which began in 1810 when a wealthy businessman hired local carpenters. In the 1920s, embroidery classes were held in one of the dorm rooms, passing on the tradition to local women. The inhabitants of Daxi have collaborated to preserve the town's unique culture, from the wood industry to Japanese-style homes and a Kendo temple. The whole town functions as an open-air museum, with each house like a puzzle piece forming the cityscape. Visitors can experience the spirit of woodcraft that has developed over decades
