Library events are taking place at the Marino and Raheny Libraries in July 2014. At Marino Library, workshops include "Exploring the Extraordinary at Dublin Zoo" on wildlife conservation, a Viking workshop with replica artifacts, and a music workshop teaching children through art and instruments. Regular adult events include book and DVD displays. Children's regular events are suspended for July and August. At Raheny Library, art and theatre workshops are taking place as well as a summer reading programme. Regular adult events include art exhibitions, language exchange groups, and a book club. Children's regular storytelling is scheduled for Wednesdays.

Danisile Ncube is a Zimbabwean sculptor who works primarily in found objects like broken tools, twigs, and metal scraps. He combines these materials in imaginative ways to comment on social and environmental issues. His sculptures offer commentary on human nature and global problems. Ncube studied art in Zimbabwe and his work has been exhibited internationally. He has won several awards and completed commissions. Ncube conducts workshops to share his skills with others.

Marta went on a school trip to Slovakia. She took a bus to Madrid, then a plane to Bratislava, and a taxi to the town of Zvolen where she stayed with a 13-year-old girl named Jane. During the trip, Marta's group attended school in Slovakia, visited places like a falconry school and mansion, made art and baked goods, presented on Spanish figures, explored the mountains via cable cars, and toured Bratislava before flying back to Spain.

The King's Church has supported The Joshua Foundation in Tanzania for 6 years by sending money, volunteers, and 5 shipping containers of goods. The Joshua Foundation runs an agricultural school, teaches at a school, and supports small businesses. Shipping costs have doubled, so this 5th container will be the last one The King's Church can support financially. They are asking for donations to ship the final container filled with clothes, books, furniture, and toys.

The Archaeological Survey of India has identified 27 heritage buildings at Santiniketan for restoration, including Santiniketan Griha, Upasana Griha, Taladhwaj, and buildings at Patha-Bhavana. The University of Kentucky Libraries have had a presence in Second Life since January 2008. Our activities in Second Life have focused primarily on events and exhibits, with our main library build serving as rotating exhibit space and a central meeting and event location for our university’s Second Life island. Library personnel have been active in creating educational content and supporting other users on our campus as they explore educational use of Second Life. Bonfire Night is celebrated annually on November 5th in Great Britain to commemorate Guy Fawkes' failed Gunpowder Plot to assassinate King James I in 1605. Bonfires are lit and fireworks are set off to mark King James' survival. Guy Fawkes was caught placing barrels of gunpowder under the House of Parliament and was arrested. The tradition is observed by lighting bonfires and fireworks.

‘Celebrating Eccles’ has been jointly conceived by the Rev. Cyprian Yobera, Vicar of Eccles Parish Church and Danny Moloney, Principal of Chrysalis Managed Events during January 2014.
The aim and objective of ‘Celebrating Eccles 2014’ is to position Eccles Parish Church (as the historic heart of the community) via a range of inclusive community creative activities, all based and centred physically around the church; as an important and vibrant part of our community.
In the future, it is envisaged that ‘Celebrating Eccles‘ will evolve into a broader and inclusive range of events; encompassing and developing aspects of our diverse and historic Culture, Community, Opportunity and Vision.
‘Celebrating Eccles 2014’ weekend (May 17th & 18th) will consist of six major cultural themes;
Creative Eccles - presentations of creative, artistic and musical talent in music, words, performance, artistry & design, inside and outside the church itself.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
