5. What I am going to learn?
The best experience comes from internships
because you get to do a bit of everything!
Our domain . . .
➔ ERP System.
➔ Managing Databse using
PL/SQL.
➔ Various Oracle tools.
7. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a
process by which a company (often a
manufacturer) manages and integrates the
important parts of its business. An ERP
management information system
integrates areas such as planning,
purchasing, inventory, sales, marketing,
finance and human resources.
ERP
8. Oracle Database is a multi-model
database management system produced
and marketed by Oracle Corporation. It is
the world's most popular database for
running online transaction processing,
data warehousing and mixed database
workloads.
Oracle
10. PL/SQL is a procedural language designed
specifically to embrace SQL statements
within its syntax. PL/SQL program units
are compiled by the Oracle Database
server and stored inside the database.
And at run-time, both PL/SQL and SQL
run within the same server process,
bringing optimal efficiency. PL/SQL
automatically inherits the robustness,
security, and portability of the Oracle
Database.
PL/SQL
11. Tools used in Oracle Applications
Forms
Forms are predesigned oracle screens where the Organizational data in regards to the business will be
entered and saved for history and transactions purpose. As per the customer business demands
customized forms can be developed using Form Builder.
Reports
System defined reports are available and system provides the flexibility of designing the customer business
related reports and tool used is Report builder.
12. Form Builder
Oracle Forms is a software product for
creating screens that interact with an
Oracle database. It has an IDE including
an object navigator, property sheet and
code editor that uses PL/SQL.
Why Form Builder?
It has certain fields, the fields are either
directly referencing a back-end database
column or a key flexfield(combination of
columns). So you can enter data and save it
to the table or retrieve the same from
database.So essentially for non technical
users it is a interface to oracle database.
13. Report Builder
Oracle Reports is a tool for developing
reports against data stored in an Oracle
database. Oracle Reports consists of Oracle
Reports Developer (a component of the
Oracle Developer Suite) and Oracle
Application Server Reports Services (a
component of the Oracle Application Server).
Why Report Builder?
It is a powerful enterprise reporting tool
used to build reports that dynamically
retrieve data from Oracle database, format,
display and print quality reports.
It is having several useful components :
● Object Navigator
● Data model Editor
● Layout Model Editor
● Parameter Form Editor
16. CRM is Customer Relation Management.
It helps to communicate with customer and
system.
Oracle's integrated CRM solution is a set
of applications that give you information-
driven sales, service, and marketing.

17. Billing module
Work of bill module is to generate bill as per meter
reading. The details of consumer is shared to billing
module through interface table
Bill module has its own package to perform data
transfer. The details of consumer is updated in CRM
module and travelled to Billing module through Interface
Updated details is mapped with billing details and the
consumer receives the bill as per his meter reading
18. • CRM Reports are used to display details of the consumer as per
requirement
• Billing Reports are used to map consumer details with meter reading

19. PL / SQL interface is used to connect two modules and communicate between
modules.
It helps in transferring of data between modules.
The interface consists of a PL/SQL package and invokes rights to describe the
behavior of generator through a set of PL/SQL package function.
To understand interface I have referred interface between CRM and Billing module.
Data is stored Once the data is saved, the data will move to staging table.
The table will have flag as ‘N’ (New or not updated). After 5-10 minutes the application
request run and some scheduling is performed. Some validations are performed.
After scheduling the data is stored in the interface table. After successful transfer of
data the flag in staging table will become ‘S’. If the data is not transferred flag becomes
E and error message is displayed in staging table after saving
