TRAINING TECHNICIANS TO SWISS LEVELS OF SKILLS
SKILLSONICS INTRODUCTION
 SkillSonics India Private Limited has been incorporated in 2011 to continue the Swiss Vocational
Education and Training Initiative, India (SVETI-India) on sustainable basis
 SkillSonics has signed exclusive partnerships with Swiss organizations – Swissmem (Swiss Mechanical
and Electrical Manufacturing Industries) and SFIVET (Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education
and Training). The curricular content and pedagogical methods are provided within the framework of
these exclusive cooperation agreements
 SkillSonics is currently working with multinationals like ABB, ACC, Bobst, EFD Induction, GMM
Pfaudler, Rieter – to name some. In some cases, SkillSonics has been chartered to build companyspecific content adding to that from Swiss partners
 SkillSonics work has been appreciated by Directorate of Employment & Training at Centre and State
levels. It has partnered with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) obtaining equity and debt
funding
 SkillSonics wants to empower 1 million Indian technicians to reach international skill levels with Swiss
diploma/certificates – by the year 2022.
 1000+ trainees across Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat have been trained. Over 100 ITI teachers,
company instructors and examiners have so far been trained and certified

 Structured training programs across multiple dimensions of technical knowledge, work skills, key

 Various delivery models of in-factory apprenticeship, traineeship and Institute-based models are
available. All courses are dual-track and include rigorous assessments. In most cases, trainees
learn theory from certified teachers (15% of time) and practices through assignments (50% of
time) – being available for productive assignments as well. They take examinations for National
(NCVT), Sector Skill Council and Swissmem Certificates. Multiple certifications ensure national
and international recognition.
