Hyundai was founded in 1947 and released its first car, the Cortina, in cooperation with Ford in 1968. The current MD and CEO, Mr. Bo Shin Seo, has over 30 years of experience with Hyundai, having joined in 1982 and taking on roles in various departments. Hyundai Motor India Ltd is the largest car exporter and second largest car manufacturer in India, selling 10 car models across segments. It exports vehicles from its production facility in India, having reached exports of 100,000 cars in under 5 years since starting exports in 1999.

 Chung Ju-Yung founded the Hyundai Engineering
and Construction Company in 1947
 The company's first model, the Cortina, was released

6. Exports
 Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) is the country’s
largest passenger car exporter.
 HMIL began exporting cars in 1999 when it shipped
a batch of 20 Santro’s to Nepal.
 It reached the first milestone of exporting 100,000
cars in four years and ten months in October, 2004.
 Market share of 48% of the total exports of passenger
cars from India.
 They have celebrated 10 lac export car-roll-out at
Chennai port.
