Instructions for Research Proposal.
1. These instructions explain the rules for the sections of the Research Proposal. You should submit your Research Proposal by email to [email protected] by the date on your Assignment Schedule (posted in ACE Resources). Your Research Proposal must be your own work and not copied from assignments submitted in another class or copied from the Web or another source. If you use information from the Web to support your descriptions or conclusions, insert a citation to the website. Each student must submit an individual written Research Proposal, even though the pilot test data is developed by the group.
A model for the Research Proposal can be found on Page 118 of the Business Research Methods textbook, as well as on Page 660 of Appendix A in the textbook.
2. Minimum total pages: 3-4 pages + Appendix (Pilot Test Results)
3. Sections of the Research Proposal
a. Problem Statement/Literature Search. The problem statement gives the reader an overview of the proposal. It states the management dilemma and how the research will address it. This section serves the same purpose as the Executive Summary in a business plan, an overview of the project. In the MindWriter example, the researchers describe the service and repair program, CompleteCare, in the first paragraph and then state the management dilemma in the second and third paragraphs (poor service; customer complaints). The fourth paragraph describes what the management hopes to do. ¾-1 page
b. Research Objectives. The research objectives section connects the management dilemma to the research goal. How will research help solve the dilemma? In MindWriter, the research demonstrates a connection to 1) Customer satisfaction, i.e. the complaints and 2) the poor service problem. 1/2 page
c. Importance/Benefits. This section seeks to justify the time and expense necessary to do the research by giving positive outcomes expected from the research. The Mindwriter crew points out how improving customer satisfaction can lead to higher profits for a longer period of time. You will explain how your research will help your new business. You may supplement your writing with citations to authoritative website articles. 1/2 page
d. Research Design. This is the main section of the Proposal. It describes the methods of date collection. You should describe how you collected your data and what the purpose was in your questions. The MindWriter researchers describe their questionnaire and how it will be administered. 3/4 -1 page
e. Data Analysis. Summarize the data you obtained in your pilot test. Give the results and comment on them. What did your research show? 3/4 -1 page
f. Results: Deliverables. This is a brief section describing the final package that will be delivered to the proposal’s customer. You will attach the summary of your pilot test as an Appendix.
4. You do not have to write a proposed Budget section.

Adjuvants are added to pesticides to enhance their performance and properties. There are several types of adjuvants including surfactants, oils, stickers, and fertilizers. Surfactants work by reducing surface tension to help pesticides spread and penetrate plant or insect surfaces. Common surfactants include nonionic surfactants and organosilicone surfactants. Oils like crop oils and methylated seed oils also help pesticides penetrate surfaces. Stickers form a waterproof coating to increase pesticide residual time. Adjuvants are either included in pesticide formulations or added to sprays by applicators.

This document discusses enzyme-assisted extraction of bioingredients from plants. It begins by providing context on the increasing demand for bioingredients from industries. It then describes various conventional extraction methods like expression, distillation, solvent extraction, and super critical fluid extraction. The key method discussed is enzyme-assisted extraction, where enzymes are used to pretreat plant materials before extraction. This helps increase permeability of cell walls and extraction yield of metabolites. Examples provided are using cellulases to extract higher yields of volatile oils from cumin seeds and ginger. The document concludes by stating that enzymes facilitate extraction with increased yields while maintaining flavor and quality of extracted oils.
The document discusses hydromagnetic conditioning systems that use magnetic fields to prevent scale buildup in pipes and equipment. It explains that most scale-causing substances are diamagnetic, meaning they do not have a permanent magnetic moment and can lose their polarity over time. When this happens, the substances clump together and form scale. However, exposing diamagnetic substances to a magnetic field causes them to regain their magnetism through induced polarization. This prevents the substances from clustering together and forming scale, keeping them suspended in fluid systems instead. Hydromagnetic conditioning systems provide optimized magnetic energy to induce this polarization and prevent both new and existing scale buildup.

An ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) treats industrial wastewater to allow for reuse or safe disposal. It involves preliminary, primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment levels using physical, chemical, and biological processes. A textile factory ETP was presented as a case study. It screens and equalizes wastewater before pH adjustment, coagulation/flocculation, aeration for BOD/COD reduction, clarification, and sludge thickening. Part of the sludge is returned to the aeration tank to utilize bacteria while the treated effluent and remaining sludge are discharged. The ETP aims to meet permissible standards for wastewater disposal into inland surface waters.

Forensic science consultant Richard Saferstein tells us that portions of the DNA structure are as unique to each individual as fingerprints. He writes that inside each of the 60 trillion cells in the human body are strands of genetic material called chromosomes. Arranged along the chromosomes, like beads on a thread, are nearly 100,000 genes. Genes are the fundamental unit of heredity. They instruct the body cells to make proteins drat determine everydiing from hair color to susceptibility to diseases. Each gene is actually composed of DNA specifically designed to carry out a single body function. Scientists have determined that DNA is die substance by which genetic instructions are passed from one generation to the next. (Saferstein 353-394)
DNA profiling has helped investigators solve crimes and ensure that diose guilty of crimes are convicted in court. Profiling is the examination of DNA samples from a body substance or fluid to determine whether they came from a particular subject. For example, semen on a rape victim's clothing can be positively or negatively compared with a suspect's semen.

The document provides an overview of the detergent powder industry, including its history, key developments, and formulas. Some of the main points include:
- Soap and early cleaning agents have been used for thousands of years, with the first evidence found in ancient Babylon. Detergents replaced soap in the 20th century as technology advanced.
- Major developments included the first industrial detergents in Germany during WWI due to strained resources, and the rise of brands like Tide in the 1930s-40s. By the 1950s, soap was displaced in developed nations.
- The document outlines a formula for making detergent powder at home, listing ingredients like guar gum powder, sodium perborate

Rohan Sinha completed a chemistry investigatory project on biofuels under the guidance of his teacher Mrs. Vaishali Mishra and with help from his friends. The project included three activities: making biodiesel from vegetable oil through a transesterification process, testing the biodiesel and comparing it to other fuels by evaluating soot production and acidity, and discussing the potential for biofuels in India using non-edible plant oils like Jatropha curcas that can be grown in degraded lands.

Gender Inequality in the Workplace: Sexual Harassment against Women
Although many women have been confident enough to report sexual harassment in the workplace, it is still very hard and uncomfortable for other women to stand up and also makes it more surprising how many of these incidences are still taking place every day. Workplace sexual harassment goes for both genders and it’s even harder for men since they are always viewed as the aggressors and superior gender and the mindset of our society shapes a lot of what we perceive is okay and normal behavior towards each other.
One interesting experience I heard of recently was involving a female service member and her superiors. This female works in an office with about four other males who are very aware about her feelings towards the behavior of her superior who happens to work outside of that specific office. The superior officer comes in everyday to check up on their work, make small talk with the guys and also has a habit of always rubbing her shoulders when he walks over to her desk. She explains that the first time it happened she thought it was odd being that she doesn’t have that type of relationship with him and gave him a pass, but then it became a an everyday thing. She tried tactics such as getting up from her desk, walking away from him and even voiced to the other males how uncomfortable it made her; they thought it was funny. They too had a complaint about him on making them feel uncomfortable: he had a habit of grabbing and scratching his private parts; but accepted it as a guy thing and would be viewed in a negative way if they reported. Her reason for not reporting was because she was afraid to get him in trouble, he had a family and wouldn’t dare to jeopardize his career, or even worse be criticized for making a big deal out of nothing after all its just a shoulder rub.
Required Elements:
· Describe the situation in detail; already mentioned above;
· Analyze the differences in communication, problem-solving, and leadership between the men and the women in the situation;
· Did any stereotypical notions seem to influence the behaviors of the women and the men involved in the situation? If so, explain what were they? If not, indicate so.
· Identify challenges related to gender in the situation described.
· Identify best practices that address the challenges identified.
· Devise three to five action plans that could be implemented to strengthen the behaviors of men and women in the workplace. Action plans can be implements by HR, a management or manager, CEO, or employee. Make sure to provide ideas as to why the action plan is necessary or would be useful in the workplace.
· Do not offer o.

The document outlines improvements made to the recruitment and selection processes at Southwood School. It identifies weaknesses in the original processes, such as relying only on newspaper advertisements and limited selection methods. The HR manager led changes including expanding recruitment methods by adding a school website and emphasizing internal recruitment. Selection methods were enhanced by adding teaching observations and involving student interview panels to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of candidates. The revisions aimed to attract a more diverse candidate pool, provide a better candidate experience, and make selection decisions based on a wider range of skills and feedback.

“When you’re a Spy, your job title can be anything, from Manager to Waiter, even criminal. The reason for the multitude of names? As a Spy, your job is to gather information from a range of sources, and you need to do it in any way you can. That includes putting on a disguise.
There are a few different paths that you can take to get into this career, and you can focus on a range of specialties, from technical to languages. The title “Spy” isn’t really used anymore. Instead, you’re now called a Covert Investigator or, more broadly, a CIA Agent. Whatever the title, it means you investigate and protect US interests abroad.
You investigate things like terrorism, fraud, corrupt governments, and a wide variety of other crimes. Your job is to keep Policymakers and the President of the United States aware and informed on the happenings around the world.
You can find the information you need in a lot of different ways. You might get to go undercover and pretend to be a different person, but for the most part, your job is much more routine. You carry out interviews with informants and allied Agents, analyze data, and read through research. You look for possible international problems, such as civil unrest, war, famine—anything that can cause problems for the United States.
This job involves a lot of collaboration and communication. You work with other Agents, international police forces, or informants. The informants you work with are usually average people, so the ability to speak their language is a big plus.”.

Question:
On August 31, 2010, Chickasaw Industries issued $25 million of its 30-year, 6% convertible bonds dated August 31, priced to yield 5%. The bonds are convertible at the option of the investors into 1,500,000 shares of Chickasaw's common stock. Chickasaw records interest expense at the effective rate. On August 31, 2013, investors in Chickasaw's convertible bonds tendered 20% of the bonds for conversion into common stock that had a market value of $20 per share on the date of the conversion. On January 1, 2012, Chickasaw Industries issued $40 million of its 20-year, 7% bonds dated January 1 at a price to yield 8%. On December 31, 2013, the bonds were extinguished early through acquisition in the open market by Chickasaw for $40.5 million.
Required:
1.
Using the book value method, would recording the conversion of the 6% convertible bonds into common stock affect earnings? If so, by how much? Would earnings be affected if the market value method is used? If so, by how much?
2.
Were the 7% bonds issued at face value, at a discount, or at a premium? Explain.
3.
Would the amount of interest expense for the 7% bonds be higher in the first year or second year of the term to maturity? Explain.
4.
How should gain or loss on early extinguishment of debt be determined? Does the early extinguishment of the 7% bonds result in a gain or loss? Explain.

Final Lab Report
You are required to write a complete laboratory report that covers all three experiments for "Lab 2: Water Quality and Contamination," using knowledge gained throughout the course. To begin, download the Final Lab Report Template and utilize this form to ensure proper formatting and inclusion of all required material. Additionally, view the Sample Final Lab Report before beginning this assignment, which will illustrate what a Final Lab Report should look like. You must use at least four scholarly sources and your lab manual to support your points. The report must be six to ten pages in length (excluding the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style. For information regarding APA samples and tutorials, visit the Ashford Writing Center, located within the Learning Resources tab on the left navigation toolbar.
The Final Lab Report must contain the following eight sections in this order:
1. Title Page – This page must include the title of your report, your name, course name, instructor, and date submitted.
2. Abstract – This section should provide a brief summary of the methods, results, and conclusions. It should allow the reader to see what was done, how it was done, and the results. It should not exceed 200 words and should be the last part written (although it should still appear right after the title page).
3. Introduction – This section should include background information on water quality and an overview of why the experiment was conducted. It should first contain background information of similar studies previously conducted. This is accomplished by citing existing literature from similar experiments. Secondly, it should provide an objective or a reason why the experiment is being done. Why do we want to know the answer to the question we are asking? Finally, it should end with all three hypotheses from your Week Two experiments. These hypotheses should not be adjusted to reflect the “right” answer. Simply place your previous hypotheses in the report here. You do not lose points for an inaccurate hypothesis; scientists often revise their hypotheses based on scientific evidence following the experiments.
4. Materials and Methods – This section should provide a detailed description of the materials used in your experiment and how they were used. A step-by-step rundown of your experiment is necessary; however, it should be done in paragraph form, not in a list format. The description should be exact enough to allow for someone reading the report to replicate the experiment, however, it should be in your own words and not simply copied and pasted from the lab manual.
5. Results – This section should include the data and observations from the experiment. All tables and graphs should be present in this section. In addition to the tables, you must describe the data in text; however, there should be no personal opinions or discussion outside of the results located within t.

Three types of Unemployment
Unemployment is divided into three categories by economist: frictional, structural, and cyclical. Frictional unemployment is unemployment due to constant changes in the economy that prevent qualified unemployed workers from being immediately matched up with existing job openings (Gwartney et al.) Structural unemployment is unemployment due to structural characteristics of the economy that make it difficult for job seekers to find employment to hire workers (Gwartney et al.) Cyclical unemployment is unemployment due to recessionary business conditions and inadequate labor demand (Gwartney et al.)
“Frictional unemployment is not as harmful to an economy as other types of unemployment, such as cyclical and structural unemployment. That's because a rise in frictional unemployment is simply an increase of workers moving toward better positions (Amadeo).”
Frictional unemployment comes from imperfect information. An example would be most businesses now when they are in the hiring process they will do a bunch of interviews and spend money trying to find the best person for that job. The people who are looking for jobs are constantly looking on the internet, the newspaper, local bulletin boards, and social media for the right job that fits them. In the county I live with I see a lot of structural unemployment. People that do have job openings require education; the ones who are unemployed have no education so they aren’t qualified. A lot of office jobs require you to have computer knowledge. Around my home town, there is very little education especially when it comes to technology. The last type of unemployment we see happening today all around the world. Businesses are cutting back and laying employees off. Where I currently work, when someone leaves, they aren’t filling the positions. We have to do more work with fewer employees.
I have a friend who lost her job and I try to encourage her to never give up and keep her faith. Philippians 4:5 states, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.” That is a good scripture for everyone who is unemployed to keep in mind. Times can be tough when you are looking for a job, but the Bible tells us to never give up, and pray about it.

InstructionsFor this assignment, collect data exhibiting a relat.docxdirkrplav
Instructions
For this assignment, collect data exhibiting a relatively linear trend, find the line of best fit, plot the data and the line, interpret the slope, and use the linear equation to make a prediction. Also, find r2 (coefficient of determination) and r (correlation coefficient). Discuss your findings. Your topic may be that is related to sports, your work, a hobby, or something you find interesting. If you choose, you may use the suggestions described below.
A Linear Model Example and Technology Tips are provided in separate documents.
Tasks for Linear Regression Model (LR)
(LR-1) Describe your topic, provide your data, and cite your source. Collect at least 8 data points. Label appropriately. (Highly recommended: Post this information in the Linear Model Project discussion as well as in your completed project. Include a brief informative description in the title of your posting. Each student must use different data.)
The idea with the discussion posting is two-fold: (1) To share your interesting project idea with your classmates, and (2) To give me a chance to give you a brief thumbs-up or thumbs-down about your proposed topic and data. Sometimes students get off on the wrong foot or misunderstand the intent of the project, and your posting provides an opportunity for some feedback. Remark: Students may choose similar topics, but must have different data sets. For example, several students may be interested in a particular Olympic sport, and that is fine, but they must collect different data, perhaps from different events or different gender.
(LR-2) Plot the points (x, y) to obtain a scatterplot. Use an appropriate scale on the horizontal and vertical axes and be sure to label carefully. Visually judge whether the data points exhibit a relatively linear trend. (If so, proceed. If not, try a different topic or data set.)
(LR-3) Find the line of best fit (regression line) and graph it on the scatterplot. State the equation of the line.
(LR-4) State the slope of the line of best fit. Carefully interpret the meaning of the slope in a sentence or two.
(LR-5) Find and state the value of r2, the coefficient of determination, and r, the correlation coefficient. Discuss your findings in a few sentences. Is r positive or negative? Why? Is a line a good curve to fit to this data? Why or why not? Is the linear relationship very strong, moderately strong, weak, or nonexistent?
(LR-6) Choose a value of interest and use the line of best fit to make an estimate or prediction. Show calculation work.
(LR-7) Write a brief narrative of a paragraph or two. Summarize your findings and be sure to mention any aspect of the linear model project (topic, data, scatterplot, line, r, or estimate, etc.) that you found particularly important or interesting.
Scatterplots, Linear Regression, and Correlation [Section 1.4, starting on page 114 in the textbook]
When we have a set of data, often we would like to develop a model that fits the data.

InstructionsFor this week’s assignment, you will synthesize the .docxdirkrplav
Instructions
For this week’s assignment, you will synthesize the most relevant information in the situation below, and present a solution in your own words, using your own analysis. You will not use all of the information included in the scenario. Remember it is not appropriate to cut and paste entire sections from the situation to substitute for your own analysis.
The objective of the assignment is to organize your message in a way that will be most effective in persuading the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to take action.
Situation: Convincing the CEO to Approve a Public Relations Plan
You are the director of public relations for Easy to Be Green, the innovative new company that helps homeowners, businesses, and municipalities become more environmentally friendly. The company has been active in environmental issues in the community since its founding a few years ago and generally has good community relations. Recently EBG’s director of research, who is strongly opinionated about environmental issues, spoke in public about the environmental practices of some local companies who employ many people in the community. Lately, you’ve found that some of your local contacts seem a little less interested in EBG’s public relations initiatives, and there has even been a small drop in sales. There may be no connections between these events, but you want to be proactive about the company’s community relations.
You also want to protect the company against charges of hypocrisy. The other day you as walked through the parking lot, it occurred to you that the majority of the employees drive SUVs, pick-ups, and other kinds of gas guzzlers. This includes the CEO, whose family car is a luxury sedan. The company’s delivery and service vans are also not the most environmentally-friendly vehicles.
After a little research, you come up with a tentative plan. You have learned that a local hybrid car dealership has been offering an interesting deal. Employees of companies that buy hybrids as company vehicles can get discounts when they buy hybrids for themselves. You think that the company should consider purchasing a couple of hybrid vans and encourage employees to buy hybrids for themselves by offering substantial rebates for these purchases. You want to get the CEO’s approval before you pursue this idea any further. You anticipate that he will have significant resistance. The company vehicles are not due for replacement, and the rebates to employees could add up to quite a lot if many employees take up the offer. On the other hand, if only a few employees take up the offer, a significant environmental initiative will seem like a failure. The CEO is a risk-taker in terms of business initiatives but tends to be conservative in management practices. He might also be a little defensive about the hybrid promotion plan because of his own vehicle choices.
You feel strongly that the potential benefits of this plan—in long-term savings on gas, in goo.
How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
How to Build a Module in Odoo 17 Using the Scaffold MethodCeline George

Instructions for Research Proposal.1. These instructions explain.docx
1. Instructions for Research Proposal.
1. These instructions explain the rules for the sections of the
Research Proposal. You should submit your Research Proposal
by email to [email protected] by the date on your Assignment
Schedule (posted in ACE Resources). Your Research Proposal
must be your own work and not copied from assignments
submitted in another class or copied from the Web or another
source. If you use information from the Web to support your
descriptions or conclusions, insert a citation to the website.
Each student must submit an individual written Research
Proposal, even though the pilot test data is developed by the
group.
A model for the Research Proposal can be found on Page 118 of
the Business Research Methods textbook, as well as on Page
660 of Appendix A in the textbook.
2. Minimum total pages: 3-4 pages + Appendix (Pilot Test
Results)
3. Sections of the Research Proposal
a. Problem Statement/Literature Search. The problem statement
gives the reader an overview of the proposal. It states the
management dilemma and how the research will address it.
This section serves the same purpose as the Executive Summary
in a business plan, an overview of the project. In the
MindWriter example, the researchers describe the service and
repair program, CompleteCare, in the first paragraph and then
state the management dilemma in the second and third
paragraphs (poor service; customer complaints). The fourth
paragraph describes what the management hopes to do. ¾-1
page
b. Research Objectives. The research objectives section
connects the management dilemma to the research goal. How
will research help solve the dilemma? In MindWriter, the
research demonstrates a connection to 1) Customer satisfaction,
i.e. the complaints and 2) the poor service problem. 1/2 page
2. c. Importance/Benefits. This section seeks to justify the time
and expense necessary to do the research by giving positive
outcomes expected from the research. The Mindwriter crew
points out how improving customer satisfaction can lead to
higher profits for a longer period of time. You will explain how
your research will help your new business. You may supplement
your writing with citations to authoritative website articles. 1/2
page
d. Research Design. This is the main section of the Proposal. It
describes the methods of date collection. You should describe
how you collected your data and what the purpose was in your
questions. The MindWriter researchers describe their
questionnaire and how it will be administered. 3/4 -1 page
e. Data Analysis. Summarize the data you obtained in your
pilot test. Give the results and comment on them. What did
your research show? 3/4 -1 page
f. Results: Deliverables. This is a brief section describing the
final package that will be delivered to the proposal’s customer.
You will attach the summary of your pilot test as an Appendix.
4. You do not have to write a proposed Budget section.
Introduction:
The objective of this project was to design a solution that can
be used to remove a coffee stain from carpet. Most carpet
cleaners contain harmful chemicals that are toxic to humans and
the environment. It is our job to make a solution that is made of
five simple green ingredients in order to make a cleaner that is
more environmentally friendly. Once the ingredients are
determined the solution will be tested using different
concentrations of the ingredients.
In order to determine what ingredients to use the group had to
evaluate characteristics of a good carpet cleaner. It is important
to think about the pH value of the stain in order to determine
what type of cleaner is to be used. For example, basic cleaners
would be used to clean up acidic spills; such as, coffee or soil.
3. Acidic cleaners would be used to neutralize alkaline stains such
as dry urine. Most types of stains are acidic and require that
basic solutions in order to clean them.
The idea behind our product was to design a stain remover for
everyday carpet stains, such as blood, egg, coffee, mud, olive
oil, etc. Each component of the product needed to have qualities
that could be marketed as being “green”. The possible qualities
included coming from a sustainable source, being
biodegradable, and not being harmful to the user. We began by
asking “What exactly is a stain?” Most stains consist of some
substance which was spilled onto a material and is physically
trapped by the weave or fibers of that material. Every stain has
some variety of four different components which can be
chemically/physically altered to remove the stain. These
components include lipids (such as fatty acids), proteins,
pigments, and non reactive particles (such as soil). The
alterations occur by putting the appropriate substance in water,
the substance interacting with the stain, and the production of
water soluble particles that will leave the fabric surface.
Lipids can be removed using two unique processes. The
first process is by adding a surfactant. A lipid consists of a long
carbon chain with an acidic head, so it’s nonpolar character
makes it insoluble in water. A surfactant decreases the amount
of hydrogen bonding that occurs between water molecules
allowing the solution to have a lower viscosity and spread out
across the surface area of the stain. This increased amount of
spreading increases the contact between water/cleaning
ingredient and the stain. Surfactants have hydrophilic heads that
will stick to the surface of the water. They also have
hydrophobic tails that will be pushed away from the surface of
the water and into the stain. This allows the stain to be broken
up and the particles leftover from the stain “solvate” into the
water in what is called a micelle. A micelle has all of the
hydrophobic tails and the the stain particles in the center of a
sphere that has the heads of the surfactant at the surface.
Different surfactants are more effective at the different aspects
4. of this process, so an ideal cleaning agent has multiple kinds of
surfactants. Surfactants do not clean very well in hard water
(water containing metal ions). The reason for this is most
surfactants have an ionic head that is more attracted to the ions
in the water than the nonpolar tail is attracted to the stain. An
ingredient called a builder is needed to attract these metal ions
so that the surfactant can interact with only the stain. The
second way to remove lipids is to make the water more basic,
which will neutralize the acidic lipids to make water soluble
salts. This is called a saponification reaction and is
accomplished by the builder because it gives the water a high
pH. The surfactant we used was Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented
Pure-Castille Bar Soap. It is made from coconut oil, palm oil,
and olive oil, each of which are natural, renewable resources.
We used Borax, or sodium borate, as our builder. It is a
naturally occurring mineral that is sourced from mines and
classified by the organization Beyond Pesticides as a “low-
toxicity, non-volatile mineral.” Another potential builder was
sodium carbonate, but we did not use it because when it pairs
with metal ions it comes out of solution and is deposited on the
surface, making the stain worse.
Big, water-insoluble proteins can be broken down into
smaller, water soluble units by adding enzymes. The enzymes,
called proteases, are similar to amylases and lipases, which
catalyze a similar reaction for starches and fats, respectively.
We used a powder meat tenderizer as our enzyme source. It
contains papain and bromelain, which are proteases that come
from papaya and pineapple, respectively. Each of these sources
are renewable and non-toxic. This ingredient contained salt and
seasoning for flavoring meat, so our actual cleaning product
would contain only the enzymes.
The pigments of stains are molecules that absorb light,
which causes our eyes to see those light wavelengths which are
not absorbed. An oxidation agent breaks up these molecules,
called chomophores, which reduces their ability to absorb light
so that we can no longer see the stain. Making the molecules
5. smaller also increases their solubility in water, which helps to
remove the stain rather than just hide the stain. We used
hydrogen peroxide as our oxidizing agent. Though industrial
processing is required to produce this compound, it is much
more natural and healthy than it’s chlorine counterpart.
Hydrogen peroxide reacts with the pigments to form oxygen and
water, which is a very non-toxic reaction. Chlorine is very toxic
and gives off nasty vapors, while hydrogen peroxide is odorless.
We used liquid H2O2, but this would not be good in an actual
product because it degrades over time and would render the
enzymes, which are very sensitive, ineffective. Our actual
product would contain sodium percarbonate, which reacts with
water to produce hydrogen peroxide and sodium carbonate.
Also, the enzymes and sodium percarbonate would be coated to
protect the enzymes, but in water the coating would dissolve.
Our builder would help to remove non reactive particles
from the surface by imparting negative charge on the particles
and the surface. The repulsion between the two keeps the soil
particle from redepositing on the fabric.
We gave the cleaner a scent to mask any odor leftover
from the stain. The scent would also make using the cleaner a
more pleasurable experience. We used eucalyptus essential oil,
which comes from a green, natural source.

To begin the testing process we needed to develop a basis
amount of liquid that we wanted to end with. With having a
basis we would be able to layout proportions of each ingredient
in the end mixture. We began with something more water based,
with small amounts of other ingredients, then gradually
decreased water and increased other ingredients as we made
more mixtures. For example, we began with a solution
7. containing ¾ cup of water and ending with a solution containing
½ cup of water.
To test each solution we began with our coffee stain by
spilling a two inch diameter amount of coffee on approximately
half inch thick pieces of carpet. We let them sit for five minutes
while the coffee set into the carpet pieces. After spraying three
pieces of carpet with each of the three different mixtures we
used a generic piece of cloth to try to remove the stains.
To test our solutions further we tried removing unknown
stains from the carpet of the CHEE lounge. The main reason to
do this was to test our solution on something that was dry,
unlike the coffee tested previously. We found a large stain
approximately one foot by one foot to test the solutions. We
used ten sprays of each mixture on three different areas of the
large carpet stain. This time rather than use a piece of cloth we
used a plastic brush to remove the long dried stain. From these
testing conditions and different mixtures we were able to assess
which mixture seemed to work better and possibly what makes a
good cleaner.
BUSINESS PLAN

Indy Armor
BUSINESS PLAN
8. 1
Executive Summary
Indy Armor Company has found the best service provider for
their one-year-old business of selling customized cell phone
cases in Amazon. Amazon has granted chance for the
company's growth that tends to over one million dollars. Most
of the sales are derived from the Amazon site. Amazon is
indeed doing great. To get some things from the cell phone
case and accessories, Indy Armor Company has introduced a
unique design to the casing that is increasingly gaining a
competitive edge in Amazon site. By listing the products on
Amazon, we are projecting that we are going to sell one
thousand casings.
Amazon has enhanced their services and customer satisfaction
in return. The consumer reviews and other feedback from
Amazon customers have assisted Indy Armor Company to
develop its product designs. By introducing high-quality cell
phone casings, the company did not realize how crucial such
items were to the consumers until Amazon customer's reviews
from other companies gave them a chance to understand what
the customers were thinking. As a result, Indy Armor Company
has embraced the customer service anthem of Amazon. In the
case of issues relating to the quality about the casings, the
company will replaces the housing or gives a refund to the
consumer.
Company Description
Indy Armor Company LLP. is an enterprise that sells and
creates designs for superior Android smartphones cases. The
casings are made from best quality materials consisting of a
resistant polycarbonate that is applied in bullet resistant glass.
The initial shipments of the commodities were 750 units within
one month. This will attract a profit of $2,450. As the company
learned the Amazon business, Indy Armor managed to build an
9. impactful reputation with the customers. The company secured a
$25,000 investment and launched face two of their products.
We predict During that period, 10 Million units of phone cases
were sold within two weeks, thanks to Amazon site. The
company has specialized in developing new phone model
casings and selling them on Amazon.
Selling through Amazon has been a great strategy for Indy
Armor Company. Amazon handles orders satisfaction and
payment processing.
The Indy Armor Company uses Amazon to concentrate on its
marketing efforts because Amazon was the initial place where
consumers purchase good- quality cases online. The company
has will sell cases to the buyers through forums and requested
the customers to post their reviews on Amazon hence building
the brand. The organization, however, plans to increase
additional cases with unique designs. The Company will
managed to rent a new office with enough space at the back that
ensures smooth running of activities and a comfortable working
environment for the employees. The Indy Armor Company is
working with the manufacturers to create colorful designs and
creative products that catch the consumer's eye at first glance.
The cases also match the current mobile phones trending in the
global markets.
Market Analysis
Market Analysis the evaluation of traits that are unique to a
particular market and gathering more information that assist an
individual or an enterprise to make sound decisions for the
business. By conducting a market analysis, essential facts are
collected that provide more knowledge about our customers,
appropriate pricing and vulnerability to outside competition
(McKeever, 2014).
Strengths
In conducting a market analysis, Indy Armor Company has
significant advantages that enhance its efficient operations at
10. the Amazon. First there are barriers to entry in the Amazon
online business that enable Indy Armor Company attain a
competing strategy over its competitors dealing with similar
products. To enter Amazon and do a product listing, there must
be several justifications and procedures to be followed. Indy
Armor Company has a pool of highly knowledgeable market
operators that link with the organization to promote quality
designs and trending phone casings. The direct connection of
Indy Armor Corporation with its manufactures has added to its
efficient service delivery at Amazon. Indy Armor Company
faces a little competition within the Amazon site. The
organization is among the best retailer of strategic phone cases
that suit the customer's tastes and preferences.
The cases sales are accompanied by high-profit margins that
boost the corporation's profits. The Indy Armor Company can
sell its products online creating a broad base of consumers who
view their services and request for delivery. Their visible
website links is a significant factor in their marketing strategy
as the company can connect with the customers online, send
email messages and further market their products in Amazon.
Selling phone cases in Amazon entails little start-up risks.
Weaknesses
The Indy Armor Company is will face a challenge as it does the
online business in Amazon. The major weaknesses encompassed
by the group include a high start up costs. The cost of starting
the company is enormous and the period to reach a break even
may significantly be prolonged due to the procedures involved
in listing commodities at Amazon. Indy Armor Company is
faced with an additional challenge of price inflexibility. It is
tricky to alternate the price of the products already listed at
Amazon site.
Opportunities
Indy Armor Company has a vast room for expansion in the
online sales of the phone cases. The company can increase their
unique designs and add their listings on the Amazon site so that
more consumers can get to see their continuous growth. Since
11. the firm has a single brand, it can utilize the brand name to
increase their designs of the phone cases.
Threats
What could have a significant impact on the business
performance are any changes of regulations that touch the
Amazon site where the products are listed. Increasing tax for
the commodities listed could reduce the rating of the Indy
Armor firm and result in high price charges that shun
consumers. Another cost that the corporation incurs that might
be a threat to its performance is additional insurance costs
accompanied by listing its goods on the Amazon site.
Organization and management
Indy Armor Company is a limited liability partnership that
ensures the protection of the management in case of any legal
disputes while keeping maximum control of the company
processes. To keep the operation's strategy, the company has a
team of specialists who give an expert-oriented advice to key
areas. The enterprise has an advisory board that makes strategic
decisions to the operations of the company. The board is
composed of engineering, new product design entrepreneurship
and a business planning team.
Mr. Nasser is the engineer who has five years experience in
project management and quality design. The organizational
structure of Indy Armor is flat, and Mr. Nasser serves as the
general manager. He provides governance to the entire company
and ensures coordination of resources. The organization has
hired eight more staff members who handle monitoring the
activities of the production process. Other four members are
devoted to the activities of sales and fulfilling orders on the
company's website.
Service and Product line
This section states an overview of the product offered, how the
product is purchased and plans for the product line.
The phone cases sold by Indy Armor Company are comfortable
and sturdy. The brilliant news is that they case come in a broad
range for the customers to choose. This can be a demerit on the
12. sense that it becomes more difficult for the buyer to select the
casing that matches their styles. The phone cases are grouped
according to phone type at the Amazon site. Whether a
consumer desires a Galaxy casing, note 4 casing or an HTC
casing, they are sure to find a substantial commodity that
matches their needs. Indy Armor company phone cases are
everywhere. The casings are bright with a TPU bumper offer
grasp.
The cases are slim and fit the unique phone designs. The
products are of intense transparency and allow clear
visualization of the original design to a specified cell phone.
The casings are also easy to press, and their unique cut outs
allow most cables to fit appropriately. The phone cases are also
compatible with Apple IPhones that are currently a major trend
in the market.
The product pricing method is determined by cost- plus and its
competitive pricing. Cost-plus is a pricing strategy that
encompasses cost plus markup to the costs of the overheads. All
orders call for a 50% deposit after getting a final shipment. The
plans of Indy Armor Company phone casing are to expand its
listing on Amazon and match the trending phones arising to
match their cases designs and maintain the consumer trust
(Thomas and Stephanie 2008).
Marketing and Sales
The sales and marketing give explanation to the company's
marketing strategy. It narrates how the organizations will
implement and ultimately gains market sales. A marketing and
sales plan further focuses on how the enterprise can deliver its
services and products so that it increases customer's satisfaction
and uniqueness.
Using Amazon as an intermediary will be a heavy lifter of the
company's marketing strategy. Amazon handles the operational
side of Indy Armor inventory, shipping, and other payments.
This division gives the organization a chance to specialize in
marketing the current line of phone cases and developing future
products the match the current technology and consumer
13. desires. Indy Armor Company also derives benefits from the
economies of scale by listing more of their product in Amazon.
Consumers will finalize all the aspects of their purchasing and
orders using the Amazon platform. However, custom listings
that give room for the buyer to chat with the sellers before and
after purchase are allowed. This ensures consumers gain the
products they want.
Marketing of the phone cases will entail online forums where
customers order the goods and receive them as per the specified
capacity. Site reviews to comment and appreciate the customers
feedback is also put in place through Amazon. Engaging in
trade shows and exhibitions are not left out. During offers and
promotions, the Company can give discounts to consumers who
purchase the casings and grant them other offers that attract the
loyalty of the customers. Conferences, events, and informal
meeting that engage potential users are part of the evolving
market strategy of Indy Armor Company.
Financial projections
The primary funding will come from the own business
investment and ploughed back profit. As the company advances
the funding will entail borrowing from potential investors and
equity financing. The projected income statement for the
enterprise is outlined below.

Etsy Group Research Proposal
(Survey)
Qualitative Research for a Jewelry Shelf sold on Etsy.com
Problem Statement/Literature Search
We developed our research proposal for our jewelry shelf
(to be sold on Etsy.com) to answer the most basic question any
entrepreneur must know: will it sell? In addition to this
question, we also asked if a customer would be willing to pay
more for a shelf that was handmade. There are a number of
jewelry shelves on Etsy, ranging from $20 to $145 (etsy.com,
2015). Both of these questions are crucial information that we
must know before we begin production to avoid massive losses
due to having too many finished jewelry shelves stuck in
inventory.
Research Objectives
This research was designed with the intention of giving us
an idea of whether or not we should begin producing these
shelves. If we received a majority of positive answers, then we
would proceed with production, and if we received mostly
negative feedback then we would call off the whole operation.
Our qualitative approach to our research is also important
because it answers our two most important questions: will you
buy it and would you pay extra for a handmade shelf.
Importance/Benefits
If we find that many people are willing to pay extra for
handmade shelves then we could do something other than mass
production. We may still want to mass produce but we could
make the shelves by hand rather than running them off of an
assembly line and making them from cheap materials in a
factory overseas. We would produce the shelves out of high
quality wood and stain it to a color of the customer’s choosing.
But, if the majority does not want to pay extra for a handmade
20. product, we will have to find a more affordable wood and give
them an inexpensive lacquer to save on costs, while still adding
a polished finish to the shelves.
Research Design: Pilot Test
Web-based Questionnaire: We used a Google survey to
find out what type of products customers are likely to be
interested in purchasing on an online store at Etsy. The survey
collected data electronically through a Google form, linking it
to a spreadsheet. The survey was sent by several channels to get
high volume of responses for better results to use for analyzing
purposes. Potential respondents received an email, requesting
the completion of the survey. After getting the results of the
survey questions, we now know what products and services to
offer the customers.
Our survey was sent to 100 people with only two questions
included. The two questions were, “Would you buy a jewelry
shelf on Etsy.com?” and “Would you pay extra for said shelf to
be handmade from wood and stained?” After we submitted the
surveys and they were returned to us, we compiled all the data
from them to record the responses. The purpose of only having
these two questions was to make sure we did not scare the
survey takers away because we could tell them in advance it is
only two questions. Also, from only asking those two questions
we learned everything we needed to form a consumer-demand
perspective.
Data Analysis
From our research we discovered that 71 people would
actually buy our jewelry shelf and 29 said that they would not.
Out of those 71 people, 46 of them said that they would opt for
the handmade option. This is great news for our company,
because based on these results, we should begin producing the
shelves. The results showed that a majority of people surveyed
would buy the product, and out of that pool enough people said
they would like a handmade shelf to push us in the direction of
making all the shelves by hand and thus charging a higher price
for the finished good.
21. Results/Deliverables
Our qualitative research did exactly what we were hoping
that it would do. All we wanted to gain from this research was
the knowledge of whether or not we could sell a jewelry shelf
on Etsy.com. Even better than that, though, our research showed
us that we should sell our shelf and all we had to do was ask
two simple questions.
