InstructionalDesign Model and Method : A Definition
ASSURE MODEL
• A guide for planning and
conducting instruction
that uses Media.
• It has six steps,
represented by the
acronym in its title that
describes a set of task.
ADDIE MODEL
• Considered as the very core of
instructional design and is the
basis of Instructional System
Design (ISD)
• It is consist of 5 cyclical
phases
- Each processes represent a
dynamic, flexible guideline for building
effective training And performance
support tools.

IMPLEMENTATION
EVALUATION
• Instructional objectives and scope are identified
• Instructional problems are also been clarified
Systematic and specific strategic planning
Designer create and assemble the content assets that
were blueprinted in the design phase
Training on use of the new
tools and review the outcomes
This phased is consist of two parts:
Formative and Summative Evaluation
Dick and Carey MODEL
• Walter Dick and Lou Carey
(1978)
• The model views
instruction as an entire
system (rather than a sum
of isolated parts) focusing
on the interrelationship
between context, content
learning and instruction.
Dale’s Cone of Experience
• Edgar Dale 1960, theorized
that learners retain more
information by what they
“do” as opposed to what is
“heard”, “read” or “observed”
• His research led to the
development of the concept
of “Learning by doing” also
known as “experiential
learning” or “action learning”
.
Gagne’s 9 Events of Instruction
This theory stipulated that there
are several different types of learning
- Each types requires different types of instruction
Three Major Elements
• Based on taxonomy of learning outcomes
• Proposes internal and external condition
for 5 Major categories of learning (Gagne,1977)
- verbal information, intellectual skills, cognitive
strategies, motor skills and attitudes
• Offers nine events of instruction
ACTIVITY

  • 5. ASSURE MODEL • A guide for planning and conducting instruction that uses Media. • It has six steps, represented by the acronym in its title that describes a set of task.

ADDIE MODEL • Considered as the very core of instructional design and is the basis of Instructional System Design (ISD) • It is consist of 5 cyclical phases - Each processes represent a dynamic, flexible guideline for building effective training And performance support tools. ANALYSIS DESIGN DEVELOPMENT IMPLEMENTATION EVALUATION • Instructional objectives and scope are identified • Instructional problems are also been clarified Systematic and specific strategic planning Designer create and assemble the content assets that were blueprinted in the design phase Training on use of the new tools and review the outcomes This phased is consist of two parts: Formative and Summative Evaluation
  • 7. Dick and Carey MODEL • Walter Dick and Lou Carey (1978) • The model views instruction as an entire system (rather than a sum of isolated parts) focusing on the interrelationship between context, content learning and instruction.

Dale’s Cone of Experience • Edgar Dale 1960, theorized that learners retain more information by what they “do” as opposed to what is “heard”, “read” or “observed” • His research led to the development of the concept of “Learning by doing” also known as “experiential learning” or “action learning” .

Gagne’s 9 Events of Instruction This theory stipulated that there are several different types of learning - Each types requires different types of instruction Three Major Elements • Based on taxonomy of learning outcomes • Proposes internal and external condition for 5 Major categories of learning (Gagne,1977) - verbal information, intellectual skills, cognitive strategies, motor skills and attitudes • Offers nine events of instruction
