CONTENT ANALYSIS
TERMS Digestion, alimentary canal, salivary gland ,pancreas , duodenum, Gallbladder
Small Intestine, large intestine.
DATE:
CLASS: IX
DIVISION:
STRINGTH:
DURATION:
FACTS The digestion of food is start at mouth from mouth food passes through
Alimentary canal. Food break-up into small particles.
The absorption of nutrients takes place at small intestine.
MINOR CONCEPT The journey of food started at mouth and ends in anus & Different internal
Organs and glands are takes place and take part in food digestion.
MAJOR CONCEPT Different glands produce different enzymes for food digestion. Different Organs
Are take part in food digestion, that is from mouth to anus , and the energy
required for our body is obtained from digestion
PREREQUISITES Living Organism needs food for sustaining life. The journey of food from mouth
to Anus is known as digestion.
TEACHING LEARNING
RESOURCES a). Activity card: Activity card describing the way of food.
b). ICT Material : Showing the video of passage of food .
c) Model of Digestive pathway.
REFFERENCES Teacher’s hand book, Textbook of class IX, health magazines.
LEARNING OUT COMES
IN THE TERMS OF
SPECIFICATION Enable the pupil to develop,
1. Factual knowledge on the structure of digestion of food through
a. Recalling the new terms like, salivary gland , Small intestine large intestine
b. Recognizing the different ways of digestion in different organism
c. Explaining the methods and steps in food digestion.
2. Conceptual knowledge about the path of food digestion.
a. Recalling the path of food digestion
b. Recognizing the functions of different glands and internal organs in digestions of food.
3. Procedural knowledge on the structure of food digestion
a. Differentiating the components of food
b. Executing the activity of listing the organism on the basis of their food digestions.
4. Metacoginitive development about the passage of food recognizing the important of passage food
through Alimentary canal in our day to life .
5. Scientific attitudes on energy releasing at the time of digestion.
6.Develop different process skills like
a. Observation of the chart
b. Completing the given chart as per the instruction
c. Communication through the presentation of group works.
CLASS ROOM INTERACTION PROCEDURE.
INTRODUCTION
We like to eat food? Isn’t It? Do we take same kind of
food? What is the purpose of food? What is the
importance of energy from food? If we take over food
what will happen? Do you feel hungry?
Teacher divides the class students in to groups and shows
them model of alimentary canal and gives them activity
card to fill the path of food.
Presentation
ACTIVITY-I
Teacher divides the whole class into 5 groups and gives
activity card to fill the path of food we eat.
food
EXPECTED PUPIL'S RESPONSE
Yes, No
Food give energy at the time of hungry for doing activities
leads to Obesity
Food mouth
Oesophagus stomach
Small intestine
Large intestine
Rectum anus
Group discussion lead by the teacher.
Digestion starts from the mouth and ends at anus. First
food becomes paste from the mouth. Then it passes
through Oesophagus. Then after the digestion of food in
the intestine the waste material move to rectum and
finally expelled through anus.
ACTIVITY II
Teacher the video of passage of food through alimentary
canal. And ask students to write a down on answers for
the given indicators their science diary.
Indicators
1)Why the food we eat do not entre the nasal cavity
2) Uvula prevent foods entre the nasal cavity
3) Why the food we eat do not entre the trachea.
Students observe the video
Uvala prevents the food from entering nasal cavity.
Peristalsis is unidirectional.
Epiglottis prevents the food from entering trachea.
Group discussion lead by the teacher
The Organs which help in digestion process are teeth,
tongue, etc. with the help of saliva and teeth food
changed into paste form.uvala prevents the food from
entering nasal cavity. Peristalsis is unidirectional
epiglottis prevent the food from entering trachea. The it
flows through alimentary canal and at intestine absorption
of nutrients is occur. After the absorption of water at
large intestine the waste particles expelled through anus
REVIEW OF QUESTIONS i) What You Mean by food digestion?
ii) Write the role of mouth digestion of food?
iii) What is peristalsis?
iv) What is the function of uvula?
v) What is the function of epiglottis?
F OLLOW UP ACTIVITY i) Write the role different glands in food digestion?
