Ellen Degeneres Values
Ellen DeGeneres once said, Here are the values I stand for: I Stand For honesty, equality, kindness,
compassion, treating people the way you d want to be treated, and helping those in need. To me, those
are traditional values that s what I stand for. Degeneres is 60 years old and has been shattering glass
ceilings since the beginning of her career. She started her daytime talk show in 2003. DeGeneres is
commonly known as Ellen and enjoys creating space for conversations about barriers that exist, for
achieving gender equality (Administrator). Ellen DeGeneres is a relatable comedian, as well as a kind
hearted person that uses her Twitter account to establish her kindness and compassion she has while
treating others the way she would like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often her videos are of her speaking to teachers from poor school districts that have tried to better the
lives of students. DeGeneres had students from at the Summit Academy Charter School in Brooklyn,
New York on her show (@TheEllenShow). She had partnered with Walmart and awarded the 41
students a four year scholarship to any State University in New York (@TheEllenShow). Awarding the
students this money shows how compassionate she is. This video clip was posted shortly after the Las
Vegas concert shooting to remind everyone that there is still good happening in the world. DeGeneres
also has had do gooders on her show, that are not from a school. One example includes when she
invited a 12 year old boy from Post Falls, Idaho to be on her show. The young boy had invented an
app that allows disabled people to find places that have automatic doors, ramps, and other various
things that someone with disabilities might need. DeGeneres partnered with Shutterfly and donated
25,000 dollars to help get the app off the ground. Ellen DeGeneres is extremely kind hearted and
continues to help try and make the world a better place to

Chernobyl
The topic I have chosen for this term paper is quot;Ex Soviet Bloc s
Environmental Crisis, Issue C. quot; #2 Upgrading nuclear reactors to meet international standards. I
have chosen this topic because nuclear power is not only an environmental issue but also a severe
health issue for the citizens around the nuclear site and also for the rest of the country and world
because of food products that could be grown there and used as market items.
Nuclear radiation is in no way healthy to anyone. It is much more easier to develop a life threatening
disease if you are currently being effected by the radiation or have already been effected. Becoming
sick from high amounts of radiation does not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forty years later, they had found no evidence that there were any genetic problems in any of the
survivors children. In contrast, Yuri E.
Dubrova of the University of Leicester in England and his colleagues claim that they have found
evidence that germline mutation rates in humans can be increased by ionizing radiation. Dubrova s
team compared specific gene segments taken from the blood of people in 79 families that lived in a
exposed area surrounding
Chernobyl. Also they studied 105 members from unexposed families in the United
Kingdom. All children in both groups were born 8 years after the melt down.
The researchers studied gene segments known as minisatellite loci, repeating patterns of roughly 5 to
45 bases, the units that make up DNA. No one knows the genetic purpose, if any, of minisatellites, but
their variation from person to person enables scientists to use them as the basis of so called genetic
fingerprinting .(Dubrova )Because a child s DNA represents a combination of germline DNA from
both parents, any sequence in the child that does not have either parents DNA in it, must result from a
germline mutation. Dubrova s team therefore looked for minisatelite sequences in the children s DNA
that did not appear in either of the parents DNA. They found twice the number of mutations in
children of exposed Belarus parents as in U.K. children. We are 99 percent sure that these are real
germline mutations and they have been passed from parent to child, (Dubrova

Conduct Disorder Essay
My hypothesis on conduct disorder in children can lead to criminal activity in adulthood. The research
that was conducted from this question was that of Memorial University of Newfoundland, the
Department of Psychology. Sampson and Laub (1997) discussed conduct disorder as not being a
single cause of adult criminal behavior, but instead the start to what they termed as a life of
cumulative disadvantage . The conduct disorder might indeed be the initial cause of problems, but
may be replaced by the effects of disapproving, negative reactions from others.
Based on prior research, Kratzer and Hodgins (1997) were aware of the association between conduct
problems in childhood and adult criminal behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Well conduct disorder is a complicated group of behavioral and emotional problems in youngsters.
Children and adolescents with this disorder have great difficulty following rules and behaving in a
socially acceptable way. They are often viewed by other children, adults and social agencies as bad or
delinquent, rather than mentally ill.
Some causes for conduct in adolescents are no discipline, unstructured discipline and a broken home.
A broken home is one of the factors that can produce a delinquent child. A broken home reduces the
opportunity for creating a strong attachment between child and parents and that reduces the parent s
ability to condition the child. Many theories concerning the causes of juvenile crime focus either on
the individual or on society as the major contributing influence. Theories centering on the individual
suggest that children engage in criminal behavior because they were not sufficiently penalized for
previous delinquent acts or that they have learned criminal behavior through interaction with others.
In fact Sampson and Laub (1997) say that isolating criminal behavior as being caused by conduct
disorder does not allow for the array of influences and interactions that lead a child with problems to
criminal activity in adulthood. They suggest that a child with conduct problems starts in on a life of
cumulative disadvantage. The conduct disorder might indeed be the

Learned Helplessness Study
If you do not feel like you are in command of your destiny, then chances are you will give up and
come into acceptance of whatever situation you may be in (McRaney, 2009). Learned Helplessness is
the feeling of being unable to avoid negative experiences because the past has taught them that they
are not in control. The study of learned helplessness was first experimented on dogs, and later it was
realized that it had the same effects and impacts on humans. Past research suggests that learned
helpless subjects are likely to make internal, stable, and global causal explanations for unfavorable
outcomes, and external, unstable, and specific ones for favorable outcomes (Hansen Thomsen, 2013,
p. 1010). This first study was designed by Martin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of 30 seconds. Of the three anagrams test, one is easy, moderate and hard. The independent variable in
this experiment is the difficulty of the task, which is the three levels; easy, moderate, and hard.
Another independent variable to consider may be the gender being two levels, male and female. The
dependent variables in the study are whether the third word is completed and the time it takes each
person to complete the anagram test. Once each participant completed their anagram, he or she moved
on to completing the a questionnaire that includes four additional dependent variables in the

the level of frustration present, and whether they think it can be done within 30

Narrative Analysis Of A Crush On Chaos
Plot development for my narrative: A Crush on Chaos? Ew No!
Exposition: My nana dropped me and brother off a little ways from our school so that we weren t
sitting in traffic. I went to Coffee Bean with some friends and my brother went who knows where!
When we were walking to Walker Junior High School, I saw my brother about to cross the street to go
to Kennedy High School. I told my friends that I would be right back. They left and I yelled out to my
brother. That is the part in my narrative that represents the exposition. The setting is the Kennedy,
Walker, and Coffee Bean area. The characters, well, the main characters, are shown as being me, Bella
Palmer, as well as my brother, Lucky Palmer.
Rising Action: Lucky! Hey! What are you doing? I said being as curious as ever.
Lucky did a half jog like thing and made his way over to me. He put me in a headlock and told me he
was going to come with me to Walker. When we got in, he said that he wanted to see Mrs. Green. We
went to her classroom and she was happy to see him.
Hi Lucky! How is High School?
Hi Mrs. Green. It is good. How is my sister in class? A lot better than me huh?
She is very good in class. Hm She may be my favorite Palmer! she said with a smirk.
See Lucky? I m a lot better than you! I said giggling.
We said bye to Mrs. Green and Lucky started to head back to his school. I used to always talk about
Lucky to my first period teacher, Mr. Kyle, and he wanted to meet the ever so famous Lucky . So I
took the opportunity and knew that he wouldn t willingly go meet him. So, I took his backpack and
darted toward Mr. Kyle s old classroom. I looked through the window but he wasn t there. When my
brother caught up to me, I surrendered and gave his back pack back.
My brother started to go to Kennedy again so I decided that it was my turn to go to his school. As we
were walking, I was thinking of ways to embarrass him without completely humiliating myself.
Hm should I just be quiet but follow him around? No because then it wouldn t be really embarrassing.
Maybe I should hold onto his arm with one hand, point to him with the other, while yelling out that I
know him and that he is my brother. Maybe not, we would just get dirty looks.

Health Issues Of The Medical Field
Over recent years, people are faced with different health related issues regardless of the advancement
in the medical field (Kronenfeld, 2008). In this scenario, Molly is an 82 years old lady, who has
developed health problems which make her feel isolated and lonely. The following essay highlights
Molly s leg ulcer, primary health care, wellness, health professionals and how these have been used to
create a learning program for Molly. It also describes the pathophysiology of diabetes, Type II
Diabetes and resources/ support services for the client s spouse who is experiencing grief after the
client died. Lunnay McIntyre (2014) describes Primary Health Care (PHC) as the first level of contact

It is the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits that will enhance well being while decreasing the risk of
disease. The six principles of wellness are social, emotional, spiritual, occupational, intellectual
wellness (Smith, Tang Nutbeam, 2006). The two principles of wellness are physical wellness and
social wellness. Physical wellness means ability to recognize the benefits of physical activities and
adopting healthy habits such as routine check ups of vital signs, a balanced diet and exercise while
avoiding the use of tobacco, drugs and excessive use of alcohol. (Floyd, Mimms Yelding 2008).
Second, social wellness is characterized by the ability of an individual to connect with other people in
the world and become aware of their importance in the society as well as take an active part in
improving our surrounding by encouraging healthier living and build a better living space in the
community (Hettler, 1976). Physical and social principle of wellness should be promoted for Molly.
Firstly, maximising her own ability to increase her independence and confidence by engaging into
daily routine activities. Secondly, teaching her how to do exercise and adjusting her balanced diet by
following the advice of the health professional in order to cure the pressure ulcer. Thirdly, providing

Clinical Reasoning Model Essay
Incorporating theory into practice is very important aspect in nursing profession. Nurses employ
analytical thinking and reasoning to evaluate health assessments and physical examinations. Core
essences of this concept include cognition, metacognition and discipline specific knowledge
(Simmons, B. 2010). The clinical reasoning model aids nurses to make clinical judgments. In the
scenario of Mrs Alice Palmer, numerous investigation where taken and due to limited information
more subjective data was needed as well as objective data had to be monitored constantly. Effective
clinical reasoning depends upon the nurse s ability to collect the right cues and to take the right action
for the right patient at the right time and for the right reason (Levett Jones, Hoffman, ... Show more

The application of critical thinking and clinical reasoning are crucial fundamentals in everyday life of
nurse s clinical practice. Like most skills, the more the nurses train, the more natural and easier it
becomes. Encouraging comparisons with similar presentations help learners widen their differential
diagnosis (Pinnock, R., Welch, P. 2014). Critical thinking is a purposeful, goal directed thinking
process that strives to problem solve patient care issues through the use of clinical reasoning (Estes,
M., Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016). Clinical reasoning whereas is a disciplined, creative
and reflective approach used together with critical thinking to establish potential strategies to assist
patients in reaching their desired health goals (Estes, M., Calleja, P., Theobald, K., Harvey, T. 2016).
Both these skills are vital and failure to grasp and master these abilities result in adverse patient
outcomes such as improper patient care, incorrect diagnose and inappropriate treatment. In other
words, critical thinking and clinical reasoning leads to critical

Healthy Psychological Well-Being
One of the main issues with the argument put forth by Taylor, as positive illusions are part of a healthy
psychological well being, is the way she conducted her research. Almost all of the experiments she
conducted were composed of self reported evaluations. In this case, subjects indicate, based on their
own reasoning, whether they demonstrate psychological well being. This may cause discrepancies in
the research based on the subject s bias opinion of themselves, admittingly having illusions, because
they are prone to distorting reality. Subjects who interpret the world in self serving ways may also
perceive their own psychological well being in self serving ways, when indeed they are not (Young,
2014). This argument was confirmed by researchers, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The definition of positive illusions has changed over the years, from a disorder to being recognized as
part of mental health. Though the research has shown that there is, in fact, a positive correlation
between positive illusions and both mental and physical health, it does expose a need for focus on the
levels of positive illusions correlating to well being. Studies produced results that support the
hypothesis that levels of positive illusions can be beneficial but only in moderate forms rather than
unrealistic forms, thus providing an individual with a false sense of self rather than simple confidence.
Through research, evidence has explained there is a need for a more specific definition of positive
illusions in order to overcome the vagueness currently being used. In this way, precise descriptions
can be uncovered and the full benefits from positive illusions may be

Growing hair follicles are like starting a tulip flower garden. In the black dirt, lays tulip bulbs waiting
for the warm spring sunshine and a few April showers to help them grow. Tulips are waiting for the
right simulation to their genetic code to get growing and will eventually will sprout above the dirt. The
warmth of the sun and the help of April showers, the tulips will grow into beautiful flowers. After a
short week or so, the beautiful flowering tulips will regress and disappear, but underneath the black
dirt there are already new bulbs forming for the next year.
Hair is very similar to tulips as every hair has a bulb under the surface of the skin. Then there is a
segment that some call the stem. The stem is also under the skin. Eventually the stem will come up
over the skin which is called the hair shaft. I would suggest thinking of the hair shaft as the flower of
the hair. The hair has a growing phase and shedding phase. So why won t the hair follicles work well
for patients who have Alopecia? A very confused immune system is to blame.
Alopecia is known for hair loss. Alopecia does not discriminate. Alopecia happens because of a
confused immune system. There are many other conditions and diseases that can happen because of a
confused and complexed immune system. Much of our immune system is not in our control. Everyone
s immune system reacts and depends on three critical things; genetic code, environment and how the

My Fitness Plan For The Fitbit App
When this class started, I wrote out goals that I wanted to accomplish during the class and after the
class is over. During the course, I have had some accomplishments with my fitness plan. I also had
challenges trying to accomplish my goals. The Fitbit app helped me track my activity and helped me
accomplish my daily goal. I learned a lot about fitness and what it takes to become healthier. My
attitude towards fitness changed after taking this course. I stayed motivated in different ways. The
content of the course did meet my expectations. I will continue to work on my fitness routine once this
course is complete. My overall fitness goals are to be able to run a mile on the treadmill without
getting tired or stopping, improve my muscular strength and endurance, and become more flexible.
My goal is to be able to do more than ten pushups without getting tired or my arms getting sore. I also
want to be able to touch my toes and be able to hold stretching position longer than thirty seconds.
Overall I just want to become healthier and in shape. I do think that I can accomplish these goals with
hard work and determination. I have had accomplishments and successes in the course itself. I can
now run a mile in twelve minutes or less. I can bike for fifteen minutes without slowing down or
stopping. I can lift thirty five pounds now and do three sets of fifteen repetitions. I have also started
eating healthier, which is an accomplishment because of how unhealthy I would eat

Once I failed, but now I am showing my strengths. There was this high school I played played for

Principles Of Business Law By Robert W. Emerson Essay
Running a company can be very difficult and challenging. There are many rules and ethics that applies
in the business world. Most of them can refer to legal terms, confidential activities, and agency, etc.
However, one book explains more in depth about business law called Business Law. The book was
published in 2009 (Emerson, 2009). It is also written by an American author named Robert W.
Emerson. His book contains a variety of valuable chapters that give details on the principles of
business law. The book also provided useful ideas how tort responsibility can be take part of a lawsuit.
The most important thing in Emerson s book is useful details about the nature of business law
throughout most of his chapters. In this paper, I will discuss briefly about the topics in chapters
fourteen to eighteen.
In Emerson s book, chapter fourteen explains a great deal about the principles of business law. Its
main discussion is agency, which means a lawful relationship when someone interacts for someone
else (Emerson, 2009). An example of this would be a friend of mine, who works for me at my men s
clothing store. I am known as the owner of the business, while my friend assists me with any tasks that
needs to be done. Agency is very common in large companies, and they are important when it comes
to building relationship with other people. The reason why is because there is a level of trust and
confidence required. If an organization do not feel their agent is not suitable, then they can

What Is A Victim Of Crime A Failure
These quotations demonstrate that over the past fourteen years the head of State has called for the
government to increase attention to the treatment of victims of crime in England and Wales. This
would imply that the needs of victims of crime have consistently been on the political agenda and that
the system is recognising that improvements need to be made to promote victims interests. What
however is the reality? This essay will explore how an advocate for the criminal justice system (CJS)
would argue that victims of crime are not being failed. It will present the measures taken to improve
the rights and interests of victims. It will discuss the commitment of the Crown Prosecution Service
(CPS) to victims by exploring The Prosecutors Pledge . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nils Christie believes that conflicts have been taken away from the parties directly involved. This
view is supported by other academics who have implied that the victims do not have any formal status
in proceedings. It is argued that the effect of this results in the victim being neglected and viewed as
the non person in the eyes of the professional participants . Victims have been compared to a
professional tool at the disposal of the lawyers, judges and court officials which would imply that
cases have been taken by the professionals of the system and that victims have lost participation in
their own cases. It is submitted that this is a transparent failure of the system as victims have lost their
voice and are viewed as subservient to the professionals. It is interesting to compare the current
process with that used in the Anglo Saxon period where an altercation trial took place and the victim
was responsible for prosecuting the offender. Academics have labelled this the golden age of the
victim as the conflict was heard without lawyers, giving the victim a central role. A clear difference
can be seen between the two systems and victims appear to have lost rights which could be concluded
as a failure of the

Gavroche
Since these French Romantic paintings have been discussed for centuries, they also have deep
influences on French people and society. In France society, the various classes can be recognized by
the clothes they are wearing. In Eugène Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People , the young boy, the
representative Parisian street urchin, positioned on the right hand side of the painting epitomizes
political awareness, for he takes his destiny in hands. (Curatorialintern, 2010) The street urchin s
figure seems to illustrate the character named Gavroche in Les Misérables, which is written by Victor

(Curatorialintern, 2010) Moreover, the yellow dress which the woman wears brings to mind a classical
drapery. This dress is together with a belt at her waist and it has dropped to below her breasts, which

impacted on the French artists and society deeply.
In addition, the significance of contemporary art can be demonstrated since Louis Philip understood
Delacroix s indication and decided to celebrate his glorious succession to the throne by purchasing the
painting.
On the other hand, the great influence of Liberty Leading the People also can be seen in modern
society. In 2008, Coldplay decided to use Liberty Leading the People as their album cover, which
named Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends . The title of the album was taken from Frida Kahlo

impression on Chris Martin, who is the singer of Coldplay. Kahlo wrote it onto her painting and would
like to celebrate life even though life had not been kind to her and she was going through considerable
pain. Therefore, Coldplay used this concept and applied it to its album cover with Delacroix s Liberty

Donaldson s Beowulf Essay
Donaldson s Beowulf
Fate often saves an undoomed man when his courage is good
Beowulf (Donaldson, 12)
The passage that I analyzed spans the action when Beowulf returns to the halls of Heorot after a harsh
battle with Grendel s mother. He returns to king Hrothgar in the great hall of Heorot to say that he has
successfully completed his boast and killed Grendel s mother. Beowulf states that it has been a very
difficult underwater battle and that he has barely escaped with his life, The fight would have been
ended straightway if God had not guarded me (Donaldson, 29). Beowulf mentions this due to the fact
that the sword given to him by Unferth, called Hrunting, was powerless against Grendel s Mother.

During the festivities celebrating Beowulf s victory the King predicts that Beowulf will become the
protector of the Geats until old age takes him and that he will be one of their greatest kings.
Christian and Pagan Elements
(p 28 31)
GRAPH The many references to God in the pages (28 31) of Beowulf reflect Christian beliefs as
opposed to pagan ones. In pagan worship, nature takes the place of God along with the belief that
inanimate objects contain spirits. The Geats would refer to Grendel and his mother as God s enemy
and descendants of Cain. Cain is a biblical reference to the story of Cain and Abel. In this story, Cain
slays his brother Abel and consequently, is banished by God for all of eternity. Because of his role as
the first murderer, Cain is thought to be the father of all monsters.
Another example of Christianity which is evident in Beowulf is the fact that the eye for an eye belief
is practiced. During the second raid of Heorot by Grendel s mother, a very close friend of King
Hrothgar and great warrior named Aeschere is murdered. The monster, not abiding by the laws of the
time, is subject to the eye for an eye belief and then has to be murdered

Residential Sprinkler System Analysis
When we talk about land developers and building contractors in the residential market, we first have
to understand what target they are going after when dealing with water sprinklers. We see the
spectrum of housing specification going up all the time which is basically 1250 to 1750 square feet.
Then on the other hand we have these custom built homes, which run from around 2000 to no limit of

Crime Scene Investigation Of The National Forensics Academy
The National Forensics Academy was full of multiple dimensions of crime scene investigation that I
had not even thought about nor learned about in the past. The world of crime scene investigation is
interesting to me because of all these aspects and because they are ever changing, and new and better
methods are being discovered. Throughout the academy I learned about these aspects in detail and
how there are various methods within each aspect. The aspects that I learned were how to photograph
a crime scene, finger printing, foot impressions, crime scene sketches, blood spatter analysis, bullet
holes, bones, and digging up a grace to recover a body. These aspects work together to investigate and
recreate crime scenes.
A part of crime scene investigation that I had never put much thought into was the photography.
Taking photos of everything at a scene and the methods of how to photograph scenes are important in
working a scene. I had never had the opportunity to work with the type of cameras that we used at the
academy and I was unaware of the work that goes into photographing a picture. Before taking a photo
one must adjust the settings including the F stop, ISO, and shutter speed of the camera. In order to
take a picture of a moving object you must adjust the shutter speed so it can capture the image clear in
its state of movement. Also leaving the shutter speed open for a long time can capture very clear
photos of a still object if the camera is placed on a tripod. The

Human Rights For The Disabled
Background
The topic of human rights for the disabled came after centuries of discrimination and mistreatment by
people who thought nothing of them. During the 1800s, people with disabilities were used in circuses
or in sideshows for entertainment or were put in an asylum for their whole life. They were thought to
be abnormal and pitiful. The Disability Rights Movement began in the United States after World War
One, because disabled veterans demanded care from the government. The problem has developed into
a global effort to protect and aid these people, along with others struggling with their human rights.
Contributions by the UN have sparked initiatives, conventions and resolutions to be set in place.
Undeveloped regions are most affected by lack of disabled rights, because of an absence of a strong
government with strong laws and rights. The top ten worst countries for human rights are Nigeria,
Yemen, Myanmar, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan,
and Syria. These areas also suffer from so many other issues, which makes them a target for human
rights issues. War, famine, genetics, diseases, complications during pregnancy, and disasters cause
disabilities.People with disabilities live with less legal protection, higher rates of poverty, lower
educational achievements, poorer health outcomes and less political and cultural participation.
Because of the social barriers that are put up, people with disabilities were, and still are,

The Liberal World Order Essay examples
The Liberal World Order
The liberal world order is as much an economic idea, as it is a political one. The liberal world order is
very much based on the rule of law. Such things are apparent in a liberal world order such as
individual liberties, private property and free trade.
According to Ludwig von Mises, a liberal world order was inseparable from liberal economic policies:
A nation s policy forms an integral whole. Foreign policy and domestic policy are closely linked
together, they condition each other. Economic nationalism is the corollary of the present day domestic
policies of government interference with business and of national planning, as free trade was the
complement of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first of these stated by Mises was a free market for labour, in other words, the level of wages and
conditions should be set by the employers, after negotiation with the employees, rather than being
controlled by the government.
The second economic constraint set out by Mises was that there should be a market economy, whereby
the forces in the market should be left to work freely, that supply and demand should be left to
determine price rather than the government regulating this.
Thirdly, free trade is seen as an essential aspect of a liberal world order, he stated that it must be free
to import and export between countries, with out control by governments.
Finally, there must be a free market monetary system in place, in that the government must not control
either the value or the flow of money in the economy
Mises also argued that, if a country s domestic economic activity was to be fully privatised, this would
mean that the economic activity in that country would effectively be free from political influences, as
it would not be the government controlling it.
He argued that the way to attain peace and prosperity was not by governing and controlling, but rather
by limiting the level of governance, and that society would naturally sort itself out.
This idea was also agreed by Ricardo:

Hitler s Propaganda Meant For The Nazis And The...
The central theme to this essay will be to answer the question Discuss the roll that graphic design
played in political/social change in a specific period . This essay will look into what Hitler s
propaganda meant for the Nazis and the population of Germany. Propaganda is the dissemination of
information to influence or control large groups of people. In totalitarian regimes like Nazi Germany,
propaganda plays a significant role in consolidating power in the hands of the controlling party.
(ushmm, 2015) This essay in conjunction will look into what Hitler s propaganda meant, what

How differently would they communicate their message to the working class compared to the upper
classes and also throughout different ages and genders. Lastly, looking back over the period of graphic
design in this part of history, are the design rules and guidelines still in effect today in contemporary
propaganda, especially in political propaganda. If so what design aspects and features are still being
used and are they still as effective in todays modern society.
Nazi propaganda can be dated back to 1926 when Hitler wrote his book Mein Kampf (ushmm, 2015)
Hitler wrote two chapters about war propaganda, which he always expressed how the power and
destruction that propaganda could cause in the right hands, and the importance of mass
communication through different mediums. The first duty of the propagandist is to win over people
who can subsequently be taken into the organization. And the first duty of the organization is to select
and train men who will be capable of carrying on the propaganda Hitler continues by saying The
second duty of the organization is to disrupt the existing order of things and thus make room for the
penetration of the new teaching which it represents, while the duty of the organizer must be to fight
for the purpose of securing power, so that the doctrine may finally triumph. (James Murphy, 2011)
By this early stage of the Nazi party it was clear

Radiology Department Case Study
As the administrator of the Radiology Department, I am not only in charge of managing day to day
operations, but also have to develop the capital budget. Upon developing the capital budget, it was
decided that the budget for the fiscal year would be one million dollars. As well as developing the
budget, the task falls upon me to decide where the money will be allocated. Within an organization
there are several budgets that arise such as, an expense budget, a revenue budget, and the one at hand,
the capital budget. Unlike other budgets, the capital budget is one where one has to select long term
assets, whose useful life is greater than one year... items typically include...routine capital equipment.
(Pg205). Two requests were submitted from the Mammography department, as well as the MRI
department. Being placed in charge of making this decision, I now face the challenge of having to
decide which departments request will be approved. Approving both requests would exceed the capital
budget, due to the fact that both requests individually cost eight hundred thousand dollars. In order to

Iris Chase Griffen
Justice is a defining factor of human motivation it can result in the triumph or demise of a person s
actions. Nevertheless, justice is not only the blade that separates good from evil, but it is the adhesive
that cements all of humanity together to form an overall gluttonous species. Justice is at the root of
everyone s greatest desires. Though the purpose of one s justice may vary, it is seen through history of
the inevitable the truth is always revealed. Some people spend their entire lives attempting to expose
the lies that suppressed their greatest desires and caused their greatest failures. At the crux of Margaret
Atwood s novel is Iris Chase Griffen, a dependent woman who is constrained by society s view of
women in the 1930 s and 1940 s. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Atwood frames the consequences of social conformity to depict Iris search for justice. Iris learned that
true strength is derived not from insignificant acts, but from prodigious actions (512). Atwood intones
that small acts of courage and justice would not conceal the injustices committed by the Griffen
family, but one great act of true strength would achieve the justice that Iris was in search of. After the
novel, The Blind Assassin , is published, Richard accuses Iris of releasing the novel on purpose to ruin
him , but Iris perceived the publication as a mere doing of justice because she needed Richard to see
the results of his abuse through the novel. However by publishing the novel, it is clear that Iris is
conscious of the fact that without memory there is no revenge (510). Atwood conveyed Iris search for
justice not through anger or violence, but through Iris story as well as the newspaper articles, which
revealed the power of men and social conformity that prevented Iris from achieving justice. The
publication of the novel stood for so much more than just revenge on the Griffens; it served as Iris
own form of redemption that she accomplished by selling the novel. Iris clearly stated that she simply
wanted a memorial of some kind for not only Laura, but also for granddaughter, Sabrina (508). At the
end of the novel Atwood

transmit payment card data to payment terminals that are equipped with traditional magnetic stripe
readers. This essentially turns every traditional point of sale terminal that s used for swipe card
transactions into a potential contactless payment system without the need to modify or upgrade the
hardware. The MST technology was developed by LoopPay, a small development company that was
acquired by Samsung in February 2015 and is the driver behind Samsung Pay. Electricity is passed
through a small metal coil inside the smartphone which generates a magnetic field that can now
communicate with standard magnetic payment card readers. The phone can now emulate the physical

process without the need to produce and swipe the actual card. The

Arab countries. Lebanon is the homeland of majority of Arab Americans, followed by Syria, Palestine,

Homelessness Is A Growing Concern Within Our Country
Homelessness is a growing concern within our country. When families become homeless, the issues
presented are much more complex than losing a house. Often times, the children within the family feel
the greatest impact when their family becomes homeless. The solution for homeless families, if they
are not fortunate to find living arrangements with family members, is to place them in shelters or
motels. Although this solution may take the family off the street and provide the family with a roof
over their head, there are remaining concerns surrounding this approach. In Point Pleasant Borough,
between the two elementary schools there are fourteen homeless families. Most of these homeless
families are residing in hotels in surrounding towns. Despite having a roof over their heads, there are
numerous risk factors for these young children and their families. The hotels that these families are
residing in are low income institutions that house substance abusers. The exposure to substances
leaves the children open to the possibility of using themselves to cope with the stress of being
homeless. There is limited space within these hotel rooms, leaving the families with limited privacy.
Inadequate food due to limited income and proper food storage is an issue leaving the families at risk
for malnutrition. Hotels are not the cleanest facilities for individuals to reside. There is a risk of being
exposed to numerous illnesses. If an individual does become ill, recuperating

Chernobyl Essay examples Chernobyl The topic I have chosen for this term paper is quot;Ex Soviet Bloc s Environmental Crisis, Issue C. quot; #2 Upgrading nuclear reactors to meet international standards. I have chosen this topic because nuclear power is not only an environmental issue but also a severe health issue for the citizens around the nuclear site and also for the rest of the country and world because of food products that could be grown there and used as market items. Nuclear radiation is in no way healthy to anyone. It is much more easier to develop a life threatening disease if you are currently being effected by the radiation or have already been effected. Forty years later, they had found no evidence that there were any genetic problems in any of the survivors children. In contrast, Yuri E. Dubrova of the University of Leicester in England and his colleagues claim that they have found evidence that germline mutation rates in humans can be increased by ionizing radiation. Dubrova s team compared specific gene segments taken from the blood of people in 79 families that lived in a exposed area surrounding Chernobyl. Also they studied 105 members from unexposed families in the United Kingdom. All children in both groups were born 8 years after the melt down. The researchers studied gene segments known as minisatellite loci, repeating patterns of roughly 5 to 45 bases, the units that make up DNA. No one knows the genetic purpose, if any, of minisatellites, but their variation from person to person enables scientists to use them as the basis of so called genetic fingerprinting .(Dubrova )Because a child s DNA represents a combination of germline DNA from both parents, any sequence in the child that does not have either parents DNA in it, must result from a germline mutation. Dubrova s team therefore looked for minisatelite sequences in the children s DNA that did not appear in either of the parents DNA. They found twice the number of mutations in children of exposed Belarus parents as in U.K. children. We are 99 percent sure that these are real germline mutations and they have been passed from parent to child, (Dubrova ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Conduct Disorder Essay My hypothesis on conduct disorder in children can lead to criminal activity in adulthood. The research that was conducted from this question was that of Memorial University of Newfoundland, the Department of Psychology. Sampson and Laub (1997) discussed conduct disorder as not being a single cause of adult criminal behavior, but instead the start to what they termed as a life of cumulative disadvantage . The conduct disorder might indeed be the initial cause of problems, but may be replaced by the effects of disapproving, negative reactions from others. Based on prior research, Kratzer and Hodgins (1997) were aware of the association between conduct problems in childhood and adult criminal behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Well conduct disorder is a complicated group of behavioral and emotional problems in youngsters. Children and adolescents with this disorder have great difficulty following rules and behaving in a socially acceptable way. They are often viewed by other children, adults and social agencies as bad or delinquent, rather than mentally ill. Some causes for conduct in adolescents are no discipline, unstructured discipline and a broken home. A broken home is one of the factors that can produce a delinquent child. A broken home reduces the opportunity for creating a strong attachment between child and parents and that reduces the parent s ability to condition the child. Many theories concerning the causes of juvenile crime focus either on the individual or on society as the major contributing influence. Theories centering on the individual suggest that children engage in criminal behavior because they were not sufficiently penalized for previous delinquent acts or that they have learned criminal behavior through interaction with others. In fact Sampson and Laub (1997) say that isolating criminal behavior as being caused by conduct disorder does not allow for the array of influences and interactions that lead a child with problems to criminal activity in adulthood. They suggest that a child with conduct problems starts in on a life of cumulative disadvantage. The conduct disorder might indeed be the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The study of learned helplessness was first experimented on dogs, and later it was realized that it had the same effects and impacts on humans. Nurses employ analytical thinking and reasoning to evaluate health assessments and physical examinations. Core essences of this concept include cognition, metacognition and discipline specific knowledge (Simmons, B. 2010). The clinical reasoning model aids nurses to make clinical judgments. In the scenario of Mrs Alice Palmer, numerous investigation where taken and due to limited information more subjective data was needed as well as objective data had to be monitored constantly. Healthy Psychological Well-Being One of the main issues with the argument put forth by Taylor, as positive illusions are part of a healthy psychological well being, is the way she conducted her research. Almost all of the experiments she conducted were composed of self reported evaluations. In this case, subjects indicate, based on their own reasoning, whether they demonstrate psychological well being. This may cause discrepancies in the research based on the subject s bias opinion of themselves, admittingly having illusions, because they are prone to distorting reality. Studies produced results that support the hypothesis that levels of positive illusions can be beneficial but only in moderate forms rather than unrealistic forms, thus providing an individual with a false sense of self rather than simple confidence. • 10. Literature Review Of Alopecus Literature Review Growing hair follicles are like starting a tulip flower garden. In the black dirt, lays tulip bulbs waiting for the warm spring sunshine and a few April showers to help them grow. Tulips are waiting for the right simulation to their genetic code to get growing and will eventually will sprout above the dirt. The warmth of the sun and the help of April showers, the tulips will grow into beautiful flowers. After a short week or so, the beautiful flowering tulips will regress and disappear, but underneath the black dirt there are already new bulbs forming for the next year. Hair is very similar to tulips as every hair has a bulb under the surface of the skin. Then there is a segment that some call the stem. The stem is also under the skin. Eventually the stem will come up over the skin which is called the hair shaft. I would suggest thinking of the hair shaft as the flower of the hair. The hair has a growing phase and shedding phase. So why won t the hair follicles work well for patients who have Alopecia? A very confused immune system is to blame. Alopecia is known for hair loss. Alopecia does not discriminate. Alopecia happens because of a confused immune system. There are many other conditions and diseases that can happen because of a confused and complexed immune system. Much of our immune system is not in our control. Everyone s immune system reacts and depends on three critical things; genetic code, environment and how the immune system ... Victims have been compared to a professional tool at the disposal of the lawyers, judges and court officials which would imply that cases have been taken by the professionals of the system and that victims have lost participation in their own cases. It is submitted that this is a transparent failure of the system as victims have lost their voice and are viewed as subservient to the professionals. It is interesting to compare the current process with that used in the Anglo Saxon period where an altercation trial took place and the victim was responsible for prosecuting the offender. Christian and Pagan Elements (p 28 31) GRAPH The many references to God in the pages (28 31) of Beowulf reflect Christian beliefs as opposed to pagan ones. In pagan worship, nature takes the place of God along with the belief that inanimate objects contain spirits. The Geats would refer to Grendel and his mother as God s enemy and descendants of Cain. Cain is a biblical reference to the story of Cain and Abel. In this story, Cain slays his brother Abel and consequently, is banished by God for all of eternity. Because of his role as the first murderer, Cain is thought to be the father of all monsters. Another example of Christianity which is evident in Beowulf is the fact that the eye for an eye belief is practiced. During the second raid of Heorot by Grendel s mother, a very close friend of King Hrothgar and great warrior named Aeschere is murdered. Crime Scene Investigation Of The National Forensics Academy The National Forensics Academy was full of multiple dimensions of crime scene investigation that I had not even thought about nor learned about in the past. The world of crime scene investigation is interesting to me because of all these aspects and because they are ever changing, and new and better methods are being discovered. Throughout the academy I learned about these aspects in detail and how there are various methods within each aspect. The aspects that I learned were how to photograph a crime scene, finger printing, foot impressions, crime scene sketches, blood spatter analysis, bullet holes, bones, and digging up a grace to recover a body. These aspects work together to investigate and recreate crime scenes. A part of crime scene investigation that I had never put much thought into was the photography. Taking photos of everything at a scene and the methods of how to photograph scenes are important in working a scene. I had never had the opportunity to work with the type of cameras that we used at the academy and I was unaware of the work that goes into photographing a picture. Before taking a photo one must adjust the settings including the F stop, ISO, and shutter speed of the camera. In order to take a picture of a moving object you must adjust the shutter speed so it can capture the image clear in its state of movement. Also leaving the shutter speed open for a long time can capture very clear photos of a still object if the camera is placed on a tripod. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During the 1800s, people with disabilities were used in circuses or in sideshows for entertainment or were put in an asylum for their whole life. They were thought to be abnormal and pitiful. The Disability Rights Movement began in the United States after World War One, because disabled veterans demanded care from the government. The problem has developed into a global effort to protect and aid these people, along with others struggling with their human rights. Contributions by the UN have sparked initiatives, conventions and resolutions to be set in place. Undeveloped regions are most affected by lack of disabled rights, because of an absence of a strong government with strong laws and rights. The top ten worst countries for human rights are Nigeria, Yemen, Myanmar, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Pakistan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Sudan, and Syria. These areas also suffer from so many other issues, which makes them a target for human rights issues. War, famine, genetics, diseases, complications during pregnancy, and disasters cause disabilities.People with disabilities live with less legal protection, higher rates of poverty, lower educational achievements, poorer health outcomes and less political and cultural participation. The liberal world order is very much based on the rule of law. Such things are apparent in a liberal world order such as individual liberties, private property and free trade. According to Ludwig von Mises, a liberal world order was inseparable from liberal economic policies: A nation s policy forms an integral whole. The first of these stated by Mises was a free market for labour, in other words, the level of wages and conditions should be set by the employers, after negotiation with the employees, rather than being controlled by the government. The second economic constraint set out by Mises was that there should be a market economy, whereby the forces in the market should be left to work freely, that supply and demand should be left to determine price rather than the government regulating this. Thirdly, free trade is seen as an essential aspect of a liberal world order, he stated that it must be free to import and export between countries, with out control by governments. Finally, there must be a free market monetary system in place, in that the government must not control either the value or the flow of money in the economy Mises also argued that, if a country s domestic economic activity was to be fully privatised, this would mean that the economic activity in that country would effectively be free from political influences, as it would not be the government controlling it. He argued that the way to attain peace and prosperity was not by governing and controlling, but rather by limiting the level of governance, and that society would naturally sort itself out.
