64. Evil Dead has 23 titles, The Conjuring has 22 and Pyscho has 14. All of the films include titles for the:
• Name of the film
• Director
• Starring actors
• Music
• Editor/s
• Costume designer
• Director of photography
• Screenplay writer/s
Clearly a wide variety of job roles are included in
the opening credits. This is because it is
important to acknowledge everybody’s work as it
is all vital in creating a dramatic, visually dynamic
motion picture. Everybody has an important part
to play.
One or more of the films also include titles for the:
• Book or film it is based on
• Production designer
• Hair and make-up
• Prosthetics
• Visual effects
• Casting
• Production company
• Art direction
• Set decorator

65. In my film opening, I will be sure to include the name of the film, director, starring
actors and music information in the titles. This is because I feel these are the most
important parts, which all engage the audience. The director is the most important
person when making a film, therefore it is critical all of their hard-work and vision is
recognised. Including the starring actors will automatically make the film more
appealing to their fans, plus without the actors, there would be no film, their talent is
a fundamental part. The music sets the scene for the entire feel, drawing out people’s
emotions, therefore I feel music is vital to a successful motion picture, hence I feel it is
important to recognise this and to acknowledge the artists. Most importantly of all,
the name of the film and how it is presented sets a precedent for the rest of the film,
so I feel it must be included in the opening titles. I will aim to include around 20 titles
in my film opening, as this is the approximate average number based on my research.
