2. Initial Reaction
As it’s the very last project I’m feeling quite excited in general. However, when I
read the brief and it said that I can do anything on the topic of media, I got the
worrying feeling as that is a wide subject and I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do.
I’m thinking of doing something in the area of magazines. But, I have produced
magazines in the past so producing more will make it really repetitive. I’m still
thinking of something that I’m good at and that won’t feel repetitive.
Another, thought I could do is a advertising campaign instead of doing a topic I have
already done. This way, I can expand my ideas more and do something I haven’t
done.
5. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
On this mood board, there aren’t many colours. The one colour that pops out most is the
colour green. As this mood board is an advertising campaign for a business which will be
Ash Grove Guest House. Ash Grove’s colour is green and the symbol is the tree. Another
reason, there is a lot of green is because Harrogate is full of nature and a lot of well looked
after grass.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
I have picked images to show the kind of advertisements I’m going to produce, such as
posters, leaflets, fake tweets and a t-shirt design.

7. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
For the children’s magazine mood board there quite a few colours going on. I have not
chosen one particular magazine but chosen a few different ones so I could see the
difference and the common features. I have found out that bold, big and fun mast heads go
really well as this will be eye-catching for a child. They have either done a masthead that
stands out or a head line that stands out. Another, is the colours, they have are bright such
as the yellow or blue.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
This has now influenced me to go for the stand out head line.
With some children’s magazine, you get a toy. I will design a toy to go with the subject of the
magazine.

9. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
An architectural themed photography portfolio has many different styles to it. I tried to get
as many images that were from different places and not all from the same place. The
colours are not the same as the brick of the buildings are different. Some of the images
have been edited whereas some of them have kept the natural look.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
This has influenced my final product by going out into York, Leeds and Harrogate to take
architectural images of buildings and any other places that seem appropriate.
