This document provides instructions on migrating objects in Informatica Power Center 9.0.1. It discusses the different types of Informatica repositories and how to create and configure a repository. It then describes how to migrate objects between repositories or folders using drag and drop or XML export/import. The key steps involve connecting to the source and target repositories, selecting the object to migrate, resolving any conflicts, and verifying the migrated object in the target location.

In this webinar there will be a brief discussion on what is personalization, customization and extension. Lastly, we will be talking about the role of ADF, which is going to supersede OA Framework in fusion applications.
Login information and group memberships (identity) often are centrally managed in Enterprises. Many systems use this information to, for example, achieve Single Sign On (SSO) functionality. Surprisingly, access to the Weblogic Server Console and applications is often not centrally managed. I will explain why centralizing management of these identities, in addition to increased security, quickly starts reducing operational cost and even increases developer productivity. During a demonstration, I will introduce several methods for debugging authentication using an external authentication provider in order to lower the bar to apply this pattern. This technically oriented presentation is especially useful for people working in operations managing Weblogic Servers.

Building Data Pipelines with Spark and StreamSetsPat Patterson
Big data tools such as Hadoop and Spark allow you to process data at unprecedented scale, but keeping your processing engine fed can be a challenge. Metadata in upstream sources can ‘drift’ due to infrastructure, OS and application changes, causing ETL tools and hand-coded solutions to fail. StreamSets Data Collector (SDC) is an Apache 2.0 licensed open source platform for building big data ingest pipelines that allows you to design, execute and monitor robust data flows. In this session we’ll look at how SDC’s “intent-driven” approach keeps the data flowing, with a particular focus on clustered deployment with Spark and other exciting Spark integrations in the works.
Building Continuously Curated Ingestion PipelinesArvind Prabhakar
Data ingestion is a critical piece of infrastructure for any Big Data project. Learn about the key challenges in building Ingestion infrastructure and how enterprises are solving them using low level frameworks like Apache Flume, Kafka, and high level systems such as StreamSets.

Open Source Big Data Ingestion - Without the Heartburn!Pat Patterson
Big Data tools such as Hadoop and Spark allow you to process data at unprecedented scale, but keeping your processing engine fed can be a challenge. Upstream data sources can 'drift' due to infrastructure, OS and application changes, causing ETL tools and hand-coded solutions to fail, inducing heartburn in even the most resilient data scientist. This session will survey the big data ingestion landscape, focusing on how open source tools such as Sqoop, Flume, Nifi and StreamSets can keep the data pipeline flowing.
Best Practices for the Hadoop Data Warehouse: EDW 101 for Hadoop ProfessionalsCloudera, Inc.
The enormous legacy of EDW experience and best practices can be adapted to the unique capabilities of the Hadoop environment. In this webinar, in a point-counterpoint format, Dr. Kimball will describe standard data warehouse best practices including the identification of dimensions and facts, managing primary keys, and handling slowly changing dimensions (SCDs) and conformed dimensions. Eli Collins, Chief Technologist at Cloudera, will describe how each of these practices actually can be implemented in Hadoop.
All about Informatica PowerCenter features for both Business and Technical staff, it illustrates how Informatica PowerCenter solves core business challenges in Data Integration projects.

A Fortune 100 company recently introduced Hadoop into their data warehouse environment and ETL workflow to save $30 Million. This session examines the specific use case to illustrate the design considerations, as well as the economics behind ETL offload with Hadoop. Additional information about how the Hadoop platform was leveraged to support extended analytics will also be referenced.

Big Data: Big SQL web tooling (Data Server Manager) self-study labCynthia Saracco
This hands-on lab introduces you to Data Server Manager, a Web tool for querying and monitoring your Big SQL database. Data Server Manager (DSM) and Big SQL support select Apache Hadoop platforms.
Applications need data, but the legacy approach of n-tiered application architecture doesn’t solve for today’s challenges. Developers aren’t empowered to build and iterate their code quickly without lengthy review processes from other teams. New data sources cannot be quickly adopted into application development cycles, and developers are not able to control their own requirements when it comes to data platforms.
Part of the challenge here is the existing relationship between two groups: developers and DBAs. Developers are trying to go faster, automating build/test/release cycles with CI/CD, and thrive on the autonomy provided by microservices architectures. DBAs are stewards of data protection, governance, and security. Both of these groups are critically important to running data platforms, but many organizations deal with high friction between these teams. As a result, applications get to market more slowly, and it takes longer for customers to see value.
What if we changed the orientation between developers and DBAs? What if developers consumed data products from data teams? In this session, Pivotal’s Dormain Drewitz and Solstice’s Mike Koleno will speak about:
- Product mindset and how balanced teams can reduce internal friction
- Creating data as a product to align with cloud-native application architectures, like microservices and serverless
- Getting started bringing lean principles into your data organization
- Balancing data usability with data protection, governance, and security

3. An Introduction to Informatica Repository
Repository - The Informatica repository is at the center of the Informatica suite. The Informatica
repository is a RDBMS that stores information or metadata, used by the Informatica Server and
Client tools. Informatica repository metadata tables in industry also called as OPB tables/views or
REP tables/views. Metadata can include information such as mappings describing how to transform
source data, sessions indicating when you want the Informatica Server to perform the
transformations, and connect strings for sources and targets.
The repository also stores administrative information such as usernames and passwords, permissions
and privileges, and product version.
The Informatica Power Center Repository Manager to used for creating the repository. The
Repository Manager connects to the repository database and runs the code needed to create the
repository tables. These tables stores metadata in specific format the Informatica server, client tools
use.
There are three types of repository in Informatica.
I. Local repository
II. Global repository
III. versioned repository
The Global repository is the hub of the domain and metadata sharable across the repository. Use the
global repository to store common objects that multiple developers can use through shortcuts.
A Local repository is within a domain that is not the global repository and metadata sharable within
the repository. Use local repositories for development.
A Versioned repository is local or global but it allow version control. Versioned repository can store
multiple copies, or versions, of an object. Each version is a separate object with unique properties.

8. What is Object Migration
Object migration lets you copy resources from one portal to another. In Informatica, we migrate
repository, folder, mapping, mapplet, workflow and reusable object from on folder or repository to
another and also migrate one version to another.
There are some points to consider
1.) XML migration can help migrate parameter & variable, session connection settings
2.) During migration, you can use the new "default session config" or the existing one in the
PowerCenter repo.
3.) For different in repo. Codepage, you can simply edit the code-page in XML to make the import
process work.
There are 3 way we can move/migrate the mappings
1) Import/Export
2) Using Deployment groups
3) Copy/past or Drag/drop

19. Migration Object Using Drag and Drop
This is very simple technique for object migration from one location to another. In this technique,
we simply copy and paste object from one location or folder or repository. There are following step
to perform this operation in Informatica Power Center 9.0.1.
Step-1 Connect to repository
Connect to repository, and open both folder.
