GovTrack had really high votes and he was head in the polls during the entire election. He also has

reform, education, agriculture, national defense, and help create jobs. Both senators have the same

Sports Stadiums : The Benefits Of Sports Stadiums
Sports Stadiums can be found in many cities across the United States. These Stadiums can cost
millions of dollars to build but have the potential to bring in much more. While there are many
benefits to building and operating a sports stadium, there are more downsides economically. New
Stadiums can bring many jobs and more income to a city in the beginning however as time goes on,
those jobs prove to be unreliable and taxpayers are left paying for a stadium they may never step
foot in. With this, sports stadiums are more harmful to a city's economy than they are beneficial.
Sports Stadiums, specifically for professional sports, have the potential to generate a large amount
of income for a city. Focusing on NFL teams, they generate a massive amount of money between
games, merchandise and concessions each time they play on their home field. Although not all of
this goes back to the state, there is enough flow of money to make it worthwhile. With the
construction of a stadium, it opens up new job opportunities for the city beginning with construction
personnel. For example, when Lucas Oil Stadium was being built in Indianapolis in 2007, over
4,900 people were employed to assist with constructions. Lasting months, it allowed locals to
generate money which further helped the flow of the economy. After construction ended in August
of 2008, the stadium offered 4,200 permanent jobs for the community. Lucas Oil Stadium hosts
events that are more than just football. Throughout the year they host, Drum Corps International
World Championships, Monster Jam, and a number of smaller community events. Another stadium
in Indianapolis is the Banker's Life fieldhouse. Banker's Life is the home of the Indiana Pacers,
Indiana Fever, and the venue for multiple concerts for big artists throughout the year. Other events
held at Banker's Life Stadium included: World Wrestling Entertainment, Disney on Ice, Cirque de
Soleil, and many more community events. With all of these events generating money, they also offer
180 full–time and between 400–800 part–time jobs for the community. These two examples of local
sports stadiums are in use year round and not for just one event, therefore generating more money
than smaller, one–use stadiums

Building Strange Bedfellows – Indiana Housing and Community Development Coalition
Toward the end of the 2015 meeting of the Indiana General Assembly ("Session"), it became evident
that a few advocacy organizations were seemingly misinformed and disconnected from IHCDA
policy positions. Rather than addressing these issues individually, IHCDA seized the opportunity to
develop a much broader working group of advocates and experts that are connected to housing and
community development in Indiana. After receiving strong support and encouragement from several
organizations, IHCDA formally organized the oracle of advocates and industry experts dubbing it
the Indiana Housing and Community Development Coalition ('Coalition").
The bipartisan Coalition consists of roughly 20 advocates and lobbying groups representing a wide–
array of stakeholders. The Coalition includes the Association of Indiana Counties, Coalition for
Homelessness Intervention & Prevention, Corporation for Supportive Housing, Habitat for
Humanity of Indiana, Lieutenant Governor's Office, Indiana Affordable Housing Council, Indiana
Apartment Association, Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, Indiana Association of
Community Economic Development, Indiana Association of Realtors, Indiana Association of United

Uss Indianapolis Sinking Research Paper
The USS Indianapolis sinking is a very historical event that was said to be incorrectly documented.
The Navy blamed captain McVay for the incident that occurred on July 30, 1945 when the ship was
hit by two out of six torpedoes fired by the I–58, a japanese submarine. He was blamed for the death
of 879 men, was court martialed and was charged with failing to zigzag and failure to order abandon
ship in a timely manner. The men went through such a horrific event when the ship sank. They were
exposed to far to many dangers including sharks, sun exposure, dehydration, hunger, and
traumatized men that were completely moonstruck. Lets just say these brave men went through hell
and a handful made it out breathing yet, scarred. These heroic men died that night because of several
reasons, including the exposures and being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The attack was very uncalled for and no one was expecting such a thing. Therefore they did not
properly prepare for if it were to happen. First being that none of the emergency boats were loaded
with the proper equipment. The boats did not have the water tanks full and they were lacking
equipment. When the ship sunk, they all gathered up on the emergency boat and come to find out
they believed they were going to die because of the lack of equipment. Another reason the USS
Indianapolis was unprepared was when they failed to zigzag. The captain is required to have the ship
sail in zigzag formation which gives the ship a higher chance from getting hit by a torpedoes. The
men were more optimistic than pessimistic because they did not even think sinking was an option.
They should have hoped for the best and expect the worst and then maybe they would have decided
to prepare. Kaleb Flanagan Mrs Mclelland English 1 3/10/17 The USS indianapolis sank with

It should be said, though not positive, not many moments occur that make me proud to be a hosier. It
does not stem from a hatred of Indiana but, it is more of how we are viewed in the eye of the public.
Most people know us as the "500 state" or the "Corn State" and recently we received the title "Home
of Pence". Though these associations are not all bad, it leaves our state void of any substance or
beauty. That is why Downtown Indianapolis Makes me proud to be a Hoosier. The fact that there is a
great deal to witness; a vast amount to see and being able to experience it all in such close proximity
establishes downtown as a unique place to visit. Simply going around the concentric circle of the

While drawing in variations of backgrounds, it inherits the variety of cultural aspects its' members
descend from. One of downtown's many cultural inheritances takes it's form in being a cultural food
district. While there are many cultures available to sample, deciding on a meal is impossible. Yet,
the fact that my taste buds can jump continents while only walking a short distance is a joy of being
in the city.
The people of downtown Indianapolis could be represented by the food it offers, a collaboration of
different flavors. Being a minority from the South Side of Indianapolis, sometimes i forget that there
are other people similar to me in identity but, in times of loneliness downtown serves as a reminder
that the term Hoosier refers to a plethora of people. Diversity, being a trademark of progressivity,

USS Indianapolis (CL/CA-35)
USS Indianapolis (CL/CA–35) was a Portland–class heavy cruiser of the United States Navy, named
for the city of Indianapolis, Indiana. The vessel served as the flagship for the commander of
Scouting Force 1 for eight pre–war years, then as flagship for Admiral Raymond Spruance, in 1943
and 1944, while he commanded the Fifth Fleet in battles across the Central Pacific in World War II.
In 1945, the sinking of Indianapolis led to the greatest single loss of life at sea, from a single ship, in
the history of the US Navy. The ship had just finished a high–speed trip to United States Army Air
Force Base at Tinian, to deliver parts of the first atomic bomb ever used in combat (the United
States' Little Boy atomic bomb), and was on training duty.

Although World War Two began in 1939, the United States did not enter the conflict until 1941.
They reason why the United States entered the war so late is due to the fact that Japan bombed Pearl

bomb that the US dropped instead of invading the Japanese Homeland. Because the casualties
would be so high. This sinking of the USS Indianapolis was one of the most tragic sinkings in World

In October 2000, the United States Congress passed a resolution that Captain McVay's record should

The resolution noted that, although several hundred ships of the U.S. Navy were lost in combat in
World War II, McVay was the only captain to be court–martialed for the sinking of his ship. In July
2001, the Secretary of the Navy ordered McVay's record cleared of all wrongdoing. On November
sixth 1968, McVay committed suicide by shooting himself with his service pistol at his home in
Litchfield, Connecticut. He was found just outside his back porch by his gardener. Although a note

after losing his wife to cancer. McVay also struggled throughout his life from vicious letters and

statistic of the FBI Uniform Crime Report, there is totally 3808 for the numbers of robbery reported

National Anthem Protests
National Anthem Protests The United States of America is a multicultural nation in which all
individuals are proclaimed free and equal. While this is true for many, African–Americans are
oppressed and deemed inferior by society because of the racism and injustice that persists in
America. This is seen through police brutality against black people compared to other races. In 2017
alone, the police have killed 1,079 people and black people were 26% (279) of those killed despite
being only 13% of the total population in America (Mapping Police Violence). The increasing
violence and inequality against African–Americans led to numerous protests and calls for change. In
the National Football League (NFL) former San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick, knelt
during the National Anthem in order to raise awareness on the issues concerning African–
Americans. His actions spread worldwide and athletes from different countries and sports leagues
began to protest the Star Spangled Banner. National Anthem protests in professional sports have
sparked social activism in America concerning police brutality and racial injustice. Protesting the
National Anthem dates back to early World War I when people protested against conscription, and
contrastingly protest in support for Socialism and Communism. In the world of sports protesting the
National Anthem became prevalent after Tommie Smith and John Carlos " made what would
become one of the most famous political protests in the

Development Of The Metropolitan Or Urban University Essay
Introduction
The metropolitan or urban university is one of the newer institutional models within the American
higher education system (Whitney, 2005). Initially, a group of academic leaders from t thirteen
urban institutions formed an alliance called "the Urban 13" and began meeting regularly to discuss
how their institutions were different from all other institutional models (Whitney, 2005).
Internationally institutions of higher education have maintained their importance for both their
regional and national economies and wellbeing. Even our European counterparts have increased
their attention and debates on the need for higher education institutions, with some concentrating on
having fewer institutions with a higher quality. As I young institution, only forty–seven years old,
Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) has and is continuing to go through
growth and establishing an identity as a regional campus. For this paper I will focus on Housing and

The City Of Indianapolis Uses A Performance Budget
Budget and Budget Format The City of Indianapolis uses a performance budget. The budget reflects
resource input and service output for various departments of the city. It creates a connection between
the funds provided to the public, and shows the outcomes of the services. This way, it breaks down
into departments and helps in evaluating spending from every department in a more in–depth way.
The budget format creates clear standards by which to measure success, which is evident in its
simplistic nature. The structure makes it easy to understand the key variables that inform each
department's allocation in line with the need to meet the city's development agenda. It promotes
program efficiency and ensures that the program is cost–effective, which ensures efficiency and
effectiveness of resource allocation. It ties expenditures to each program in relation to the specific
goal developed for the program, which helps immensely in ensuring that resource utilization align
with the goal, thereby promoting program accomplishment. This budget makes it easy for the
organization to modify resource allocation for various tasks, depending on whether they want to
upscale or downscale the program. The city should not adopt a different format because the
performance budgeting format used fits them well in terms of dealing with each department's
resource inputs. They have to maintain the format. Probably, what they need to do is to address the
underpinning weaknesses to avert any possible

Indianapolis Intervention For Perpetrators Of Sexual Abuse
Indianapolis Intervention For Perpetrators of Sexual Abuse
Kaelin Dugan
IUPUI
Introduction
Sexual Abuse Over the years, sexual abuse has been defined and regulated across the United States.
Laws and protections have been enforced to protect children from sexual perpetrators. These laws
are extremely strict in the United States, but this may not be the case around the world. Although
persecution of perpetrators remains a common solution, there are other interventions used to
rehabilitate and prevent future acts of sexual abuse. There are interventions and services available to
perpetrators in Indianapolis, Indiana. Child abuse in the United States can be defined as "the
engaging of child in sexual acts that the child does not understand, to which the child cannot give
informed consent or which violate the social taboos of society (Hertherton & Beardsall, 1988)."
Based on the understanding of the child sexual abuse, perpetrators of sexual abuse will be referred
to as perpetrators and victims of sexual abuse will be referred to as victims. Child sexual abuse
occurs in a variety of ways. While women are capable of sexually abusing children, research
suggests that men are more likely to abuse (Crosson–Tower, 2014). Because society tends to
overlook female perpetrators, these numbers may change in the future. Depending on whether the
abuse is intrafamilial are extrafamilial, perpetrators have access to children in different ways.

Reasons For The Sinking Of The Indianapolis
The sinking of the indianapolis was a horrible event. This event led to many men losing their lives.
"Knowing how the men died in the water isn't the same as knowing why they died in the water." is a
quote from the book. There are many reasons behind the their death. One of the reasons is because
the torpedo hit the boat. This put a massive hole in the side of the ship. The hole began to flood,
causing the front of the ship to sink and eventually the whole thing. At this point, the remaining 900
survivors were fighting for their lives in the water. They began to become delusional and even
started attacking each other. Some of the men were eaten by sharks, some just drowned. Other men
died from dehydration, because they drank the salt water.

The USS Indianapolis Tragedy
"We were losing three or four each night and day," said Loel Dean Cox, a survivor of the USS
Indianapolis tragedy. The USS Indianapolis was a Naval cruiser that was hit with a torpedo and sunk
in the Philippine Sea on July 30, 1945. The ship had over 1,200 men on board, with 800 made it into
the water, and only 316 survived after being rescued. The men spent four days in the shark infested
waters, now the USS Indianapolis tragedy is called the worst shark attack in history. The USS
Indianapolis tragedy could have been avoided if Captain McVay's request for a destroyer escort was
approved, the ship was informed of the nearby Japanese submarines before the accident, and if the
mission was not as secret, Naval Base Guam could have realized something ... Show more content

"U.S intelligence using a top secret operation labeled ULTRA had broken the Japanese code and was
aware the two Japanese submarines, including the I–58 [the submarine that sunk the Indianapolis],
were operating in the path of the Indianapolis" (The Story, Evidence Withheld). U.S. intelligence
from Naval Base Guam knew about the submarines and did not tell Captain McVay, who was
already out on the Indianapolis. "...that senior Navy officers knew there might have been a Japanese
submarine in the area but did not warn the cruiser out of fear of disclosing that the Navy had broken
Japan's naval codes" (Stout). The Navy was hesitant to give out secret information out of fear that
the Japanese would find out that the U.S. had technology could intercept messages. More evidence
concludes that the Navy knew about the submarines in the area."They also didn't tell Captain McVay
that, right before his departure from Guam (and beginning the return trip), a Japanese sub sank a
destroyer escort, the USS Underhill, in that area" (US Patriot Tactical). If the ship had been
informed of the nearby Japanese submarines that were operating in the same area as the
Indianapolis, then the ship could have been better prepared for an attack or found a better way to

The Keep Indianapolis Beautiful : A Great Appreciation For...
The " Keep Indianapolis Beautiful" organization is the reason there is a great appreciation for art,
nature and sense of community in Indianapolis. As we know it today, Indianapolis is at its highest
peak in employment and rated as one of the best cities to relocate to in America for better careers
and quality of life. However, back in the 1940's Indianapolis was referred to as a "raw, dirty and
unkept city...", a city people should avoid. Gangs, drugs, loitering and other illegal acts surfaced
many neighborhoods and communities during that time. Considering where Indianapolis is today,
one would never believe this city used to be ins such despair. Thanks to many civic leaders, devoted
women and passionate residents, Indianapolis went from a trashy, neglected city to a place of
beauty, pride and opportunities. Throughout this profile, I will identify how KIB's legacy was
created, its contibution to social capital through "private action for public good", and why KIB is
vital for not only Indianapolis, but the world in its entirety. In 1947, John Gunther, an American
journalist, was responsible for the negative perspective on the city of Indianapolis. In the 1960's and
70's, around the time women demanded to be heard in society, many women of Indianapolis came
together to clean streets and alleys: referring to themselves as the Keep Indiana Beautiful Club.
These women were the start of something life–changing. Bill Hudnut, former mayor of Indianapolis,

Essay On The Sinking Of The Uss Indianapolis
During the USS Indianapolis' second voyage, on July 30, 1945, the ship was torpedoed by a
japanese submarine. After the sinking of the ship, more than a thousand men had to survive the sea
with injuries and limited supplies. The crew of the Indianapolis started out with 1,197 men and came
out with only 317 men. We all know how the men in the water died, but it is not the same thing as
knowing why they died.
The men that were out in the water died for various reasons, one of the reasons why they died was
because of sharks. Whenever the Indianapolis sank, the men were thrown into shark infested waters.
Their current injuries and wounds from the sinking of the ship only attracted more sharks. Whenever
they were stranded, the sharks would come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another significant reason to why they died was because they were not healthy enough to live. Most
of the men had injuries including, burns, scorched lungs, broken limbs, cuts, and cracked skulls. The
men that had these injuries became weaker and weaker until they died. After being in the ocean for
so long they became really ill. There was not much food and water, so people would end up drinking
the salt water; this eventually caused them to become thirstier.
Without fresh water to drink, you experience an unimaginable thirst. The survivors in the water
experienced the unimaginable thirst. Being dehydrated also caused the men to hallucinate and see
things that were not really there, the dehydration and drinking the salt water caused them to die. As
mentioned earlier, we all know how they died, but it is not the same thing as knowing why they
died. The crew of once 1,197 men had to experience most people's nightmares. The men of the
Indianapolis died for various reasons. We know how they died, but why did they

see which team is better. Both teams are pretty good and have they both have their good and bad
times. Which team do you think is better. One of them have had the same quarterback and has won a
superbowl with him. The Broncos have a great quarterback and a great backup quarterback. They
also have two great running backs to improve each at the same time they get the same amount of
time in a game. The broncos also have a great set of receivers and one of them was the best receiver
of 2012 his name is Demaryius Thomas. The broncos have also recently defeated the undefeated
patriots in overtime by a touchdown. The colts also have a great players

Marketing Goal : Indianapolis Sports
Marketing Goal
Indianapolis has become a sports' mecca. Ample options of sport have created an enormous market
for the community and visitors to experience. One downfall of being in Indianapolis is the enormous
amount of sport market competition. Entering into the sports market in Indianapolis can create an
underdog feeling to an already competitive market share. Indy Fuel has to take the necessary steps
in order to gain a competitive advantage from established organizations and not let history repeat
itself. With Indy Fuel being in its third year, they are slowly starting to catch the attention of the
Indianapolis community and work towards creating a passion for hockey in a state that is defined by
basketball. Indy Fuel's marketing goal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failing to post a winning record in four seasons, the team soon departed ("The History").
In 1979–1980, the city welcomed the Indianapolis Checkers. The Checkers lasted three more
seasons before relocating to Denver. Indianapolis went without professional hockey for a year
before the Indiana Ice arrived in 1988–89. The Ice brought the return of the Turner Cup to
Indianapolis for the first time since the Chiefs won it back in 1958. The 1998–99 season began to
show signs of struggle for the IHL, prompting a switch to the Central Hockey League. Continuing to
play until 2003–04, the Indiana Ice decided it was time to fold, bringing an end to professional
hockey in Indianapolis ("The History").
A 10–year gap of hockey was not enough to discourage owner Jim Hallett from bringing hockey
back to Indianapolis. The Indy Fuel, an East Coast Hockey League expansion franchise, set its
hockey roots in Indianapolis in 2014. With a mix of positive and negative history of hockey in
Indianapolis, the Indy Fuel has the challenge of not letting history repeat itself and making
Indianapolis a strong hockey market ("The History").

Street Harassment In Indianapolis Women
In the 1980s, 293 Indianapolis women were interviewed. They were a diverse group, ranging in age,
class, race, and sexual orientation, but they all had one thing in common: every single one of them
could cite multiple examples of being harassed on the street. Not much has changed since then; in a
2014 study, 65% of women reported street harassment, including being shouted at, being followed,
being groped, and being raped. In other studies, the number is much higher. Street harassment is
objectifying, and, in this internet age, it is a direct refusal to listen to the pleas of countless women.
It too often leads to violence and is almost always nerve–wracking for the one being harassed. It is a
direct feature of a rape culture. Not much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though this is quite simplistic, it certainly holds up. Both of the points that were previously made
contribute to rape culture: objectification is a facet of it, as are the dismissal of women's beliefs and
the continuation of a constant fear of sexual violence. When women complain about being harassed
on the street, they are often told to ignore it, to change their route to avoid it, or to carry weapons to
protect themselves. These suggestions, which tell women that they must change rather than those
harassing them, are clear signs of a rape culture. They normalize harassment, make it seem as
though it is simply an inevitable fact of life rather than a problem that can and should be changed.
Instead of telling women to be prepared for the eventual fact of harassment, society must begin to
tell men that harassing women is never acceptable. When society begins to do that, things will begin

The Boys & Girls Clubs Of Indianapolis
Introduction
This analysis will help determine what specific areas of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis is
strong and doing efficiently, as well as what areas need more improvement, while also giving
suggestions on how to improve those areas. I have critically analyzed the mission statement, official
website, the lack of volunteers, donations and funds. Below you will find the critical analysis results
and suggestions.
Critical Analysis
Mission Statement
According to Miller and Dess, mission statements are the driving motivation of an organization
(1996). The mission statement of the Boys & Girls Clubs Indianapolis (BGCI) is, "Boys & Girls
Clubs of Indianapolis believes every young person deserves to live a life filled with hope and
opportunity. Because we care about our young people, we provide a safe, educational and positive
atmosphere where they can prosper and reach their full potential". This mission statement does a
great job of embodying what BGCI represents and hopes to provide for its members. The mission
statement is not something that is unattainable; it is a very well attainable and is a very possible
mission. For someone who has never part took in the BGC, it makes them very eager to want to
volunteer or have their kids or family members join. Research shows that having a strong mission
statement is the first step to overall keeping a firm survival in an organization or business (Miller
and Dess, 1996). Theory and practice have helped prove that

The Sinking Of The USS Indianapolis
Many people take the sinking of the USS Indianapolis for granted. Some people do not even know
about the sinking of the ship because it is not even mentioned in history books. However, the people
who know about the sinking of the ship, do they really know why they died? The reason why the
shipmates died goes a lot deeper than just the ship sinking. There are many factors that went into
why the shipmates died at midnight on July 30, 1945. A major factor in why the shipmates died was
the ship's conditions, the lack of protection, and the lack of guidance. The USS Indianapolis did not
have superior ventilation. Since the ship had bad quality ventilation, the crew had all the hatches
open to let in air. Which in return, caused the ship to sink

Why The USS Indianapolis Die?
Why did the sailors aboard the USS Indianapolis die? There is a difference between why and how
they died. On page 101, it says "Knowing how the men died is not the same thing as knowing why
they died." There are reasons why the men died. The sinking caused many problems. As a result of
the sinking, a lot of sailors died. The men were in the water for way too long. They were exposed to
a lot of things while they were in the middle of the ocean. They were exposed to sharks, seawater,
oil, sun rays, and even cannibalism. All of those things played a major role in a lot of the men dying.
Maybe not as many of them would have died if help would have came faster. What took the help so
long to get there? The help should have been there way faster.

Analysis Of The Book ' Tom Brady '
In the 2014 AFC Championship game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots
there was tampering with the footballs, which became known as Deflategate. NFL footballs are
supposed to have a PSI (pounds per square inch) between 12.5 and 13.5. The New England Patriot's
footballs at half time were lower than 12.5 and nobody knows how that happened and that's where
the Deflategate Scandal was born. In the three articles I will be analyzing the three sides the
Indianapolis Colts , the New England Patriots and the rest of America's point of views of the
Deflategate scandal. Indianapolis Colts have an unbelievable disliking for the New England Patriots
they have never liked them and never will. The article "Tom Brady, Deflategate villain" from the
INDYSTAR uses pathos and ethos to get the point across to Colts fans. This article is meant for
Colts fans because it shows a lot of hate toward Tom Brady. In the beginning of the article its starts
off saying "It 's worse than we thought. Well, not it. Him. Tom Brady. He 's worse than we thought."
This shows that the author already didn't like Tom Brady but after this came out on the news this
pushed Colts fans over the top. This article shows that most of Indianapolis thinks Tom Brady
cheated. In the article they are calling Tom Brady a Liar and saying that he is ultimately responsible
for the deflation of the balls in the AFC Championship game. It also goes on talking about Tom
Brady's reputation, and how he is a

  • 3. Sports Stadiums : The Benefits Of Sports Stadiums Sports Stadiums can be found in many cities across the United States. These Stadiums can cost millions of dollars to build but have the potential to bring in much more. While there are many benefits to building and operating a sports stadium, there are more downsides economically. New Stadiums can bring many jobs and more income to a city in the beginning however as time goes on, those jobs prove to be unreliable and taxpayers are left paying for a stadium they may never step foot in. With this, sports stadiums are more harmful to a city's economy than they are beneficial. Sports Stadiums, specifically for professional sports, have the potential to generate a large amount of income for a city. Focusing on NFL teams, they generate a massive amount of money between games, merchandise and concessions each time they play on their home field. Although not all of this goes back to the state, there is enough flow of money to make it worthwhile. With the construction of a stadium, it opens up new job opportunities for the city beginning with construction personnel. For example, when Lucas Oil Stadium was being built in Indianapolis in 2007, over 4,900 people were employed to assist with constructions. Lasting months, it allowed locals to generate money which further helped the flow of the economy. After construction ended in August of 2008, the stadium offered 4,200 permanent jobs for the community. Lucas Oil Stadium hosts events that are more than just football. Throughout the year they host, Drum Corps International World Championships, Monster Jam, and a number of smaller community events. Another stadium in Indianapolis is the Banker's Life fieldhouse. Banker's Life is the home of the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, and the venue for multiple concerts for big artists throughout the year. Other events held at Banker's Life Stadium included: World Wrestling Entertainment, Disney on Ice, Cirque de Soleil, and many more community events. With all of these events generating money, they also offer 180 full–time and between 400–800 part–time jobs for the community. These two examples of local sports stadiums are in use year round and not for just one event, therefore generating more money than smaller, one–use stadiums ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Building Strange Bedfellows – Indiana Housing and Community Development Coalition Toward the end of the 2015 meeting of the Indiana General Assembly ("Session"), it became evident that a few advocacy organizations were seemingly misinformed and disconnected from IHCDA policy positions. Rather than addressing these issues individually, IHCDA seized the opportunity to develop a much broader working group of advocates and experts that are connected to housing and community development in Indiana. After receiving strong support and encouragement from several organizations, IHCDA formally organized the oracle of advocates and industry experts dubbing it the Indiana Housing and Community Development Coalition ('Coalition"). The bipartisan Coalition consists of roughly 20 advocates and lobbying groups representing a wide– array of stakeholders. The Coalition includes the Association of Indiana Counties, Coalition for Homelessness Intervention & Prevention, Corporation for Supportive Housing, Habitat for Humanity of Indiana, Lieutenant Governor's Office, Indiana Affordable Housing Council, Indiana Apartment Association, Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, Indiana Association of Community Economic Development, Indiana Association of Realtors, Indiana Association of United Ways, Indiana Bankers Association, Indiana Builders Association, Indiana Community Action Association, Indiana Credit Union League, Indiana Institute for Working Families, Indiana Landmarks, Indiana Mortgage ... • 9. Uss Indianapolis Sinking Research Paper The USS Indianapolis sinking is a very historical event that was said to be incorrectly documented. The Navy blamed captain McVay for the incident that occurred on July 30, 1945 when the ship was hit by two out of six torpedoes fired by the I–58, a japanese submarine. He was blamed for the death of 879 men, was court martialed and was charged with failing to zigzag and failure to order abandon ship in a timely manner. The men went through such a horrific event when the ship sank. They were exposed to far to many dangers including sharks, sun exposure, dehydration, hunger, and traumatized men that were completely moonstruck. Lets just say these brave men went through hell and a handful made it out breathing yet, scarred. These heroic men died that night because of several reasons, including the exposures and being ... When the ship sunk, they all gathered up on the emergency boat and come to find out they believed they were going to die because of the lack of equipment. Another reason the USS Indianapolis was unprepared was when they failed to zigzag. The captain is required to have the ship sail in zigzag formation which gives the ship a higher chance from getting hit by a torpedoes. The men were more optimistic than pessimistic because they did not even think sinking was an option. • 11. Downtown Indianapolis Research Paper It should be said, though not positive, not many moments occur that make me proud to be a hosier. It does not stem from a hatred of Indiana but, it is more of how we are viewed in the eye of the public. Most people know us as the "500 state" or the "Corn State" and recently we received the title "Home of Pence". Though these associations are not all bad, it leaves our state void of any substance or beauty. That is why Downtown Indianapolis Makes me proud to be a Hoosier. The fact that there is a great deal to witness; a vast amount to see and being able to experience it all in such close proximity establishes downtown as a unique place to visit. Simply going around the concentric circle of the monument and picking a spigot to travel down guarantees a unique ,easily navigable, experience. • 29. The City Of Indianapolis Uses A Performance Budget Budget and Budget Format The City of Indianapolis uses a performance budget. The budget reflects resource input and service output for various departments of the city. It creates a connection between the funds provided to the public, and shows the outcomes of the services. This way, it breaks down into departments and helps in evaluating spending from every department in a more in–depth way. The budget format creates clear standards by which to measure success, which is evident in its simplistic nature. The structure makes it easy to understand the key variables that inform each department's allocation in line with the need to meet the city's development agenda. It promotes program efficiency and ensures that the program is cost–effective, which ensures efficiency and effectiveness of resource allocation. It ties expenditures to each program in relation to the specific goal developed for the program, which helps immensely in ensuring that resource utilization align with the goal, thereby promoting program accomplishment. This budget makes it easy for the organization to modify resource allocation for various tasks, depending on whether they want to upscale or downscale the program. The city should not adopt a different format because the performance budgeting format used fits them well in terms of dealing with each department's resource inputs. They have to maintain the format. Indianapolis Intervention For Perpetrators Of Sexual Abuse Indianapolis Intervention For Perpetrators of Sexual Abuse Kaelin Dugan IUPUI Introduction Sexual Abuse Over the years, sexual abuse has been defined and regulated across the United States. Laws and protections have been enforced to protect children from sexual perpetrators. These laws are extremely strict in the United States, but this may not be the case around the world. Although persecution of perpetrators remains a common solution, there are other interventions used to rehabilitate and prevent future acts of sexual abuse. There are interventions and services available to perpetrators in Indianapolis, Indiana. Child abuse in the United States can be defined as "the engaging of child in sexual acts that the child does not understand, to which the child cannot give informed consent or which violate the social taboos of society (Hertherton & Beardsall, 1988)." Based on the understanding of the child sexual abuse, perpetrators of sexual abuse will be referred to as perpetrators and victims of sexual abuse will be referred to as victims. Child sexual abuse occurs in a variety of ways. While women are capable of sexually abusing children, research suggests that men are more likely to abuse (Crosson–Tower, 2014). • 49. The USS Indianapolis Tragedy "We were losing three or four each night and day," said Loel Dean Cox, a survivor of the USS Indianapolis tragedy. The USS Indianapolis was a Naval cruiser that was hit with a torpedo and sunk in the Philippine Sea on July 30, 1945. The ship had over 1,200 men on board, with 800 made it into the water, and only 316 survived after being rescued. The men spent four days in the shark infested waters, now the USS Indianapolis tragedy is called the worst shark attack in history. The USS Indianapolis tragedy could have been avoided if Captain McVay's request for a destroyer escort was approved, the ship was informed of the nearby Japanese submarines before the accident, and if the mission was not as secret, Naval Base Guam could have realized something ... The Navy was hesitant to give out secret information out of fear that the Japanese would find out that the U.S. had technology could intercept messages. More evidence concludes that the Navy knew about the submarines in the area."They also didn't tell Captain McVay that, right before his departure from Guam (and beginning the return trip), a Japanese sub sank a destroyer escort, the USS Underhill, in that area" (US Patriot Tactical). The " Keep Indianapolis Beautiful" organization is the reason there is a great appreciation for art, nature and sense of community in Indianapolis. As we know it today, Indianapolis is at its highest peak in employment and rated as one of the best cities to relocate to in America for better careers and quality of life. However, back in the 1940's Indianapolis was referred to as a "raw, dirty and unkept city...", a city people should avoid. Gangs, drugs, loitering and other illegal acts surfaced many neighborhoods and communities during that time. Considering where Indianapolis is today, one would never believe this city used to be ins such despair. Thanks to many civic leaders, devoted women and passionate residents, Indianapolis went from a trashy, neglected city to a place of beauty, pride and opportunities. Throughout this profile, I will identify how KIB's legacy was created, its contibution to social capital through "private action for public good", and why KIB is vital for not only Indianapolis, but the world in its entirety. In 1947, John Gunther, an American journalist, was responsible for the negative perspective on the city of Indianapolis. In the 1960's and 70's, around the time women demanded to be heard in society, many women of Indianapolis came together to clean streets and alleys: referring to themselves as the Keep Indiana Beautiful Club. These women were the start of something life–changing. Bill Hudnut, former mayor of Indianapolis, read Gunther's article ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After the sinking of the ship, more than a thousand men had to survive the sea with injuries and limited supplies. The crew of the Indianapolis started out with 1,197 men and came out with only 317 men. We all know how the men in the water died, but it is not the same thing as knowing why they died. The men that were out in the water died for various reasons, one of the reasons why they died was because of sharks. Whenever the Indianapolis sank, the men were thrown into shark infested waters. There was not much food and water, so people would end up drinking the salt water; this eventually caused them to become thirstier. Without fresh water to drink, you experience an unimaginable thirst. The survivors in the water experienced the unimaginable thirst. Being dehydrated also caused the men to hallucinate and see things that were not really there, the dehydration and drinking the salt water caused them to die. They were a diverse group, ranging in age, class, race, and sexual orientation, but they all had one thing in common: every single one of them could cite multiple examples of being harassed on the street. Not much has changed since then; in a 2014 study, 65% of women reported street harassment, including being shouted at, being followed, being groped, and being raped. In other studies, the number is much higher. Street harassment is objectifying, and, in this internet age, it is a direct refusal to listen to the pleas of countless women. Though this is quite simplistic, it certainly holds up. Both of the points that were previously made contribute to rape culture: objectification is a facet of it, as are the dismissal of women's beliefs and the continuation of a constant fear of sexual violence. When women complain about being harassed on the street, they are often told to ignore it, to change their route to avoid it, or to carry weapons to protect themselves. These suggestions, which tell women that they must change rather than those harassing them, are clear signs of a rape culture. They normalize harassment, make it seem as though it is simply an inevitable fact of life rather than a problem that can and should be changed. Instead of telling women to be prepared for the eventual fact of harassment, society must begin to tell men that harassing women is never acceptable. I have critically analyzed the mission statement, official website, the lack of volunteers, donations and funds. Below you will find the critical analysis results and suggestions. Critical Analysis Mission Statement According to Miller and Dess, mission statements are the driving motivation of an organization (1996). The mission statement of the Boys & Girls Clubs Indianapolis (BGCI) is, "Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis believes every young person deserves to live a life filled with hope and opportunity. Because we care about our young people, we provide a safe, educational and positive atmosphere where they can prosper and reach their full potential". This mission statement does a great job of embodying what BGCI represents and hopes to provide for its members. The mission statement is not something that is unattainable; it is a very well attainable and is a very possible mission. For someone who has never part took in the BGC, it makes them very eager to want to volunteer or have their kids or family members join. Research shows that having a strong mission statement is the first step to overall keeping a firm survival in an organization or business (Miller and Dess, 1996). There are many factors that went into why the shipmates died at midnight on July 30, 1945. A major factor in why the shipmates died was the ship's conditions, the lack of protection, and the lack of guidance. The USS Indianapolis did not have superior ventilation.
