INTRODUCTION
 India, is called officially the Republic of India.
 It is seventh-largest country by area.
 It is second-most populous country(with over 1.2 billion people).
 It as most populous democracy in the world.
 BOUNDED by :south :Indian sea ;south-west :Arabian sea ;south-east :bay of
Bengal; west :Pakistan; china,Nepal,and Bhutan :north-east ,and Myanmar
and Bangladesh :east.
 CAPITAL :NEW DELHI.

Etymology
 The name India is derived from Indus.
 The geographical term Bharat which is recognized by the constitution of India
as official name of country.
 It is modernization of the Bharatavarsha, which gained increasing currency
from the mid-19th century.
 Hindustan is an ancient pension name of India by
 "Land of the Hindus."

 Ancient India
 The earliest authenticated human remains in South Asia date to about 30,000
years ago.
 The Indus Valley Civilization (IVC) was a Bronze Age civilization(3300–1300
BCE; mature period 2600–1900 BCE) .
 Centered around cities such a Mohenjo-Daro, Harappa,Dholavira and
Kalibangan.

 The Indian early medieval age, 600 CE to 1200 CE, is defined by regional kingdoms and cultural
