“It’s in the Bag” Speech
Your mission: Think of 3 unique objects that you could place in a small (or large)   paper sack that symbolize who you are.
Here are some requirements…
Use 5 adverbs   additionally supposedly loosely  too  possibly cheerfully irresponsibly  truly voraciously routinely differently  neatly sincerely exquisitely triumphantly  boldly apathetically obnoxiously inquisitively  tightly gregariously lethargically apprehensively  lively impatiently laughingly brazenly  less  correctly eagerly easily  lazily  fast loudly patiently  lightly  quickly quietly well  likely elegantly  energetically  gently enormously  generally generously gladly  gleefully  gracefully  greatly  greedily   enthusiastically  equally  especially exactly  evenly  eventually  excitedly  extremely   meaningfully  miserably  mysteriously tenderly terribly thankfully thoroughly thoughtfully tomorrow  tremendously truthfully  creatively beautifully

Card Examples Card #1: Introduction You are allowed to write your entire introduction on this card (yes, that means every single word that you plan on saying) Cards #2, #3, #4 ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Card #5: Conclusion You are allowed to write your entire conclusion on this card (yes, that means every single word that you plan on saying) You may name the item and make a list of bullet pointed speaking reminders
Write a 2-3 minute informative speech telling about these objects and  what these 3 things mean to you.   Use transition words (first, next, furthermore, in addition, additionally, etc.)
For your speech, you should use 5 or more note cards to organize what you will say.  You’ll need one card for each of the following:
Card #1 : Use all the techniques you’ve learned bout writing to write a creative introduction with at least 2-3 sentences (and adverbs!).  Examples that you  may not  copy: We all have things in our lives that are  especially  important to us.  On this occasion, I would like to share 3 things that symbolize who I am.   When I was asked to select 3 things that  clearly  symbolize who I am, deciding what to choose was not difficult for me.  Let me share my 3 choices with you now.   example #1 example #2
Cards #2, 3, and 4 :  Write about your 3 subtopics (your 3 items) doing the following: A. Describe each UNIQUE  item you’ve chosen. B.  Share why it shows who you are.  C.  Be sure to include transition words. D.  Include an ending for each paragraph.  E.  Place directions for yourself in parentheses (Example: take  award out of the bag now)

Card #5 : Creative conclusion with at least 2-3 sentences (do not copy these):   Many of you know me pretty well.  So you can  possibly  understand that a dog collar, a ticket, and a stuffed beaver  best  show you what is important to me and who I am.  I  suppose  many of you don’t completely understand my choices.  That’s okay, because a dog collar, a ticket and a stuffed beaver show you just how different I like to be!  example that summarizes example that compares
Your speech will be scored for: Ideas and Content:   details, main ideas Organization:   clear, beg, middle, end, transitions Language:   good word choices, grammar, humor, metaphor, simile use Delivery:   eye contact, good speed, volume, energy, fluency, no fillers, body language Visual Aids:   large enough to see, enhances  presentation, uniqueness
