ReleaseBrief
The 21/02 release of our Digital Sales Platform brings many
features to further improve user experience and efficiency. CPQ
users now have a new, much more visual configuration experience.
Commerce users can configure and submit inquiries (for large
items) or browse non-installed base machines to find the spare
parts they need. CRM users gain even more efficiency and
reliability when using the system from their Email & Calendar with
server-side sync.

Embed external content and applications to offer value-added features in your commerce site, such as ticket

Providing an easy, smooth checkout process is just as essential as ensuring data integrity and quality.
Input fields during checkout can now be flagged to indicate a server-side validation. E.g., the Shipping
Address is required to be validated upon entry as there may be a change in pricing behavior. If so, the
toggle switch for the fields 'Validate' can be set to 'True’.

Classified products now be added to cart and checkout. These classified products have pre-defined values
for each characteristic, enabling customers to choose from a set of pre-defined products, increasing the
overall wallet share. The pre-defined characteristics – also referred to as technical specification – can be
rendered in a tabular or list view mode on the product detail page.

Bill-to and Ship-to address can be maintained in two places: either directly on addresses tab, or as partner
functions. We now support both address sources when selecting the customer’s address. Administrators can
choose to use the address information maintained on the account as a fall-back scenario, or let customers
change them when checking out their purchases.

Configuration accuracy and efficiency is improved by helping the user make informed decisions. The Help
Panel comprises documentation with rich text and visual content. It is accessible from anywhere in the
configuration workspace, even while the user is configuring a product. Besides support, users can easily
attach important files to the quote during the configuration process.

Variant matching helps identify material variants that match the user’s configuration. This helps sales reps
find pre-configured variants that meets customer needs and sell from existing stock. Users can preview the
material variants and find matching attributes. They can also copy the configuration and customize it further.
Alternatively, they can simply replace the existing item, or add variant into the item list. These functions help
speed up configuration and improve customer satisfaction.

Side Panel – Variant Material Finder
After customer requirements have been filled, the usual practice is to trigger a product search. This step
performs variant matching and helps the sales rep in the selection of variant material for configuration. Once
suitable variants have been found, they can be previewed to find out what their characteristic options are. The
next step is to execute the right action: Copy characteristics into the configurable material as a new starting
base or replace the configurable with the sealed variant. Alternatively, the variant can simply be added to the
quote by using the add-command.
