To enable innovation in a large and dispersed organization, there is a need for a shared digital platform with simple, social, mobile, smart and situation-aware services that allow people - employees, partners and customers - to get inspired, openly share ideas, and collaborate to implement the best ideas - big or small.

Moving Beyond the Knowledge Base to the Social Knowledge ExchangeBlue Economy Agency
In today’s world, effective knowledge sharing within an organization helps to attract talent, to build revenue and to inspire innovation, all of which lead to competitive advantage. Historically, the dissemination of information has happened through a system of content platforms and static document sharing, often via email. Those old paradigms no longer apply in the real-time socially connected world of today. Leveraging social platforms to tap the collective mindshare of the organization is not only important, it's mission critical for success.
These slides from our recent webinar with ClimateWorks and Forrester Research demonstrate how innovation is pushing the boundaries of knowledge management and moving us into the era of the Social Knowledge Exchange.
Kate Leggett, Forrester’s leading expert analyst on knowledge management will lead the conversation and provide industry trends and insights on the future of the Social Knowledge Exchange. We'll also hear from Sarah Nichols, Director of Knowledge Management for ClimateWorks, a foundation dedicated to supporting public policies that prevent dangerous climate change, and learn how ClimateWorks uses its social intranet to:
Create a central services portal that connects its global network of non-profits
Connect systems of record to systems of engagement
Develop innovative UX search and content discovery mechanisms
Apply best practices to increase intranet adoption and usage.

The exponential growth of social media and ubiquitous use of mobile technology has changed the way we communicate both socially and for many also professionally. It is important to consider the implications and the impact of the digital footprint our online interactions leave behind. This workshop will help you to reflect on what your online presence looks like when viewed by others, consider who your audiences are and how you can develop your digital profile in a positive way.

Developing a PLN and open co-learning opportunities #UoRsocialmediaSue Beckingham
Developing your academic online presence with social media
Workshop at the University of Reading led by Sue Beckingham SFHEA, Senior Lecturer in Information Systems and LEAD Associate at Sheffield Hallam University, this workshop will provide an opportunity to learn about new approaches and practical examples of using social media in higher education; and as co-learners share examples of effective practice and consider how these might be applied in your own contexts. The session will also provide participants some time and space to network and potentially make new connections.
The workshop aims to provide participants with an opportunity to:
Gain a better understanding of how social media can be used in a scholarly context
Appreciate the value of developing a rich professional online presence
Learn about opportunities for social and open informal learning through social media
Appreciate five elements of ‘working out loud’ (Stepper 2015) and how these can be of value to both yourself and others
Using the 5C Framework (Nerantzi and Beckingham 2014, 2015) as a lens we will consider how social media can be used to connect, communicate, curate, collaborate and create. In doing so consider the value of:
Developing a digital professional persona to share scholarly achievements
Cultivating your own personal learning network and co-learning communities
Sharing learning journeys through working out loud

Using social network analysis to improve innovation and performanceScott Smith
A significant yet often overlooked component of people’s information environments is composed of the relationships that they use to acquire information and knowledge. Social network analysis (SNA) allows managers to visualize and understand the myriad of relationships that can either facilitate or impede knowledge creation and transfer. In research conducted by the IBM Institute for Knowledge Management, we discovered four different relationship dimensions which are important for success.

Resolve To Connect Better: 24 Networking Questions and Solutions For 2015 Kelly Hoey
No one willingly shows up to hear a presentation or workshop on the topic of networking by "chance" or "just because" - typically they have a question or networking challenge and they are looking for actionable solutions. Here are 24 questions and my answers from my December networking keynote to the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.

Mapping Your Career Business Plan Hoey.Johnson 2011Kelly Hoey
“Unpacking and Mapping Your Career Business Plan”
In this highly interactive session, participants will be asked to answer the following questions in order to help them “unpack” their current knowledge, skills and contacts:
• Who you are right now
• Who you know right now
• Where you may want to go and identifying gaps to find success
The speakers will guide participants through the various “compass points” that will reveal a holistic plan for what they need to do to have a successful career path.
• Credentials Plan: resume (employers, education, experience); skills building (stretch-assignments, internal & external activities); motivation (finding your inner entrepreneur).
• Networking Plan: mapping out your network(s) for career advancement, identifying gaps in network, prioritizing activities/efforts, locating sponsors within the network, outlining career networking opportunities (professional associations, social media, writing articles & presenting your credentials on a panel or as a keynote).
• Personal GPS Plan: asking yourself to answer questions honestly about your values, work-life balance and other personal drivers to ensure authenticity throughout your career.
We’ve all sat through career building session that focus on high-level concepts; this program allows the participants time during the session to unpack what they know and put it down on paper to reveal a path and the gaps that might be there.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
