However, is being in charge what defines you as a leader? Maybe our idea of leadership has changed over time and perhaps it goes slightly deeper than that.
Leadership Philosophy
David Cummings discusses his leadership philosophy which is based on leading by example and translating vision into reality. He has held several leadership positions including captain of his high school ski and tennis teams and president of his college tennis club and business fraternity colony. In these roles, he found it most effective to use a combination of democratic and autocratic leadership styles depending on the situation. Public baths were one of the few places both social classes mingled, as most Romans went to free public baths daily for hygiene and socializing.

Public baths were an important part of Roman life, where everyone would go to get clean. The Baths of Diocletian were large, open-air public baths with separate areas for men and women, as well as hot and cold pools. By 300 AD, there were over 850 public baths in Rome where people would socialize and exercise in the open air.

- My name is Donald Nelson and I will be talking about my plans to improve my leadership skills. Will someone give me a definition of leadership skills? How can a individual improve their leadership skills? Think about your leadership skills. How would you improve your leadership skills. There are many ways to evaluate your skills and improve on them. One of the ways is to ask a colleague or take a test. The test can either be on paper or complete a on-line assessment.
- I recently took a self-assessment test that was developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. This test helped me evaluate my leadership skills. My strengths were in written communication and promoting organizational values.
- My goal is to maintain a balanced life of a career, family, and recreation.
