This document discusses leadership and followership. It defines leadership as influencing people to change direction or follow a path through example or advocating a better way. leader?

4. LEADERSHIP
• The power or ability to lead other
people
• It is the act of influencing people
to change direction or follow a
certain path either by example or
by advocating a better way.

5. Be in the government, in the church,
school, or in any institution or
establishment, or even in formal or
informal groups, good leadership is
needed in the course of action.
Chaos ensues in the absence of a
recognized leader.

6. Good news is that leadership does
not require a special diploma or
degree. IT can be developed or
enhanced in you if you have the
raw qualities of a leader.

Be diligently practicing daily and
overcoming his limitations, he
emerged as a leader in the field of
sports. Likewise, you develop the
right leadership competencies by
exposing yourself with experiences
that help hone your leadership skills.

15. SERVANT LEADERSHIP
As mentioned earlier leadership and
followership do not contradict, but complement
each other. A good combination results in
harmony in any group or organization. Notice
that many of the good leadership traits are the
very same qualities found in good followers
and vice versa. A natural by-product of a
leadership complementing with the desired
followership is teamwork.

16. There are different leadership styles
applied in the corporate or institutional
setups. Some of them you will come to
know about in the future, like the laissez-
faire, autocratic, situational, consultative,
charismatic, transformational, and
transactional styles. There is one,
however, that you may best relate with. It
is called servant leadership.

Yes, we are called!

20. On different occasions, we are
called to be either leaders or followers.
At home or in school, we are given
responsibilities to perform. Some of
them are imposed on us by our parents,
elders, or guardians, while others are
self-imposed. These are duties that we
consider as obligations we have to do in
our own volitions.

21. Our initiative prods us to act on
them without expecting any reward or
recognition. In the course of fulfilling
these tasks, our leadership, as well as
followership skills and values, are
developed.
