The document discusses implementing open badges in online intercultural exchange programs to make learning design and skills acquisition more visible and accountable. It describes using open badges to recognize the transversal skills students gain from participating in large, heterogeneous online intercultural exchange tasks across formal and informal spaces. Implementing open badges can provide soft certification of skills and support learner autonomy by raising the visibility of skills gained through intercultural exchange that may not otherwise be formally recognized.
OEB2014: 3D and Mobile Environments for Participation and Learning - case KinectLeena Koskimäki
Supporting slides for the demo session on Online Educa Berlin 2014: 3d and mobile environments for participation and learning, introducing case Kinect.
OBF Academy webinar - Competitive Skills: A National Open Badge constellation...Open Badge Factory Ltd.
In this webinar, you will hear about a project where a nationwide open badge constellation was developed.
With this Open Badge constellation, it is easy to identify and recognize competencies acquired outside the formal education system, at different levels of education, and in transition phases of the education structure. In addition, the project provides a requirement framework of competencies for securing IT-related problem-solving skills in non-formal education.
Merja Sjöblom, Accelerator of Digital Skills at TIEKE presents the badge constellation and share what was learned during this extensive project with a large consortium.
Join us if you're attending the annual meeting for the first time or if you want an inside look at the program and its innovations. We'll discuss navigating the program to find sessions that fit your interests and review the Hands-On Workshops, Short Presentation Pairs, and 2017 program highlights. We'll also show you ways to meet new colleagues and engage with emerging teaching and learning with technology topics.

Celebrating success – delivering digital literacyJisc
Speakers:
Rebecca Dean, essential skills tutor, Torfaen Training

Fully Online Learning Community (FOLC) Readiness Workshoprolandv
Assumptions
● The two surveys Digital Competency Profiler (DCP) + Fully Online Learning Community Survey (FOLCS) = FOLC Readiness Measure
● Participants will complete the DCP + FOLCS at the beginning (prior to and end of the development/implementation process
● Participants will be asked to complete both surveys again after the course has been offered and the participants will be asked to reflect on the differences between the two instances of the surveys
Subsequent to the workshop, team members wll be given the opportunity to complete the Digital Competency Profiler ( https://eilab.ca/general-technology-competencyuse/) and the FOLC Survey. These two tools are designed to work together, providing a sense of ‘readiness’ for moving into a FOLC environment, providing a sense of the digital competencies that are required to function in FOLC environments.
This step will focus on:
● A brief reintroduction to the FOLC, an introduction to the General Technology Competency and Use (GTCU) Framework (underlies the DCP), and other tools (WebKF and Adobe Connect)
● Participants will analyze the results of the 2 surveys and study the visualizations, providing insight to participants regarding the skills and competencies required to learn in FOLC environments.

Wondering where you belong on the spectrum between a technophobe and technophile? Curious as to how this affects your teaching? More tech-savvy generations of learners are entering our classrooms bringing not only their rich cultural contexts, but also new preferences of learning and engaging both with each other, and their educators. However, incorporating ed-tech strategies effectively into teaching can seem daunting to many educators.
This webinar presents theoretical considerations for developing an educator’s digital capabilities. We also review examples of ed-tech professional development models to support and empower educators to successfully implement technology-enhanced teaching practices. Our experience shows that the development of digital capabilities in educators is highly dependent upon empowering, developing and enhancing the educators’ mindset.

The oneVillage Community Day Presentation was given at 10am on Sept 27, 2009 at the Technology Bldg in Taipei Taiwan. The presentation gives an overview of our work particularly in relation to what the 1st Community Day event was about in July supporting the oneVillage Ecotour Service and Learning Program. As part of this program, 10 students from National Tsing Hua Univ traveled to Ghana for the month of Aug. During their time in Ghana, they shared experiences with each other and the local people, while aiding in various development efforts organized by our affiliate OVF Ghana. We see this as a model development effort that links projects and people with ICT and in many cases supports the development of Open Source solutions in the field.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.
