 Imagery refers to the mental pictures that reader experience when
reading literature.
 Imagery appeals directly to one or more of the five senses .
 An author achieves imagery through the use of work .

 Motivation General Mastery

 Imagery is a way of using our Imagination and it has
countless potential benefit :
 The problem is that without how to use our imagination
skilfully.
 Most of us use it worry ourselves silly
 In a way worry is probably the most common use of the
imanatiogin .
 All of us worry at one time or another .it nature and sometime
worrying even allows us to solve problem by examining the
situation with techniques.
 Improve Confidence
Studies show that successful mental imagery activates our motor
cortex and sensorimotor . Cortex the same way that physically
performing that task would .imagery can improve performance
increased confidence and focus as well as improve our ability to
control anxiety .
Imagery can used to develop qualities in yourself you'd like to have its
like emotional body –building and using a technique called Evocative
Imagery you can cultivate courage tolerance . Humor concentration
confidence or any other quality you'd like to embody
 Problem solving
Imagery can be used to stimulate our creativity and help us reach new
solution to difficult problems . One technique is to imagery having a
conversation with a wise and helpful figure and see what it has to tell you
about an area of concern.
• The first skill to learn with imagery is using it to relax we
describe how to do that and even offer you audio clips you can
listen to . Regular interruption of chronic stress with relaxing
mental mini vacations can sustain your energy your positive moo
and ability to cope with challenges.
What is guided imagery used for us ?
 Guided imagery has many used.
 You can use it to promote relaxation.
 Lower blood pressure and reduce other problems related to
stress .
 You can also use it to help reach goals
 Imagery has a positive effect on heart rate .
 Breathing and oxygen rates
 Practice makes perfect.
Imagery is a skill and just like ant skill that you perform in your sport you
will need to practice in order to be perfected .
 Quality not Quantity .
Imagery is a mental skill you will needed to concentrate on creating
and controlling your imagery which can be tiring when you first get
started .for this reason it is best to begin your imagery training by
imagery high quality imagery for short periods of time and then
gradually increasing the time you spend imaging .
Try to make your imagery as realistic as possible by re-creating
important details of your sport setting . In your mind eye. By
including details like the colure of your of your opponent uniform or
the sound of the spectators cheering you will feel like you are really
 Plan your imagery .
Images of your sport can frequently pop into your head but to really
benefit from imagery you should plan the content of your imagery to
meet your current needs .

  • 2. Creating a picture in the reader mind by making the reader see, hear, taste, smell or touch what is being described . Definition  Imagery refers to the mental pictures that reader experience when reading literature.  Imagery appeals directly to one or more of the five senses .  An author achieves imagery through the use of work .
  • 3.  Imagery that can be used :  Cognitive Specific (CS)  Cognitive General (CG)  Motivational specific (MS)  Motivation General Mastery (MGM)  General Arousal (MGA)
  • 4.  Cognitive Specific : Imagery of sport specific skill /task .  Cognitive General : Imagery of strategies within competition .  Motivational Specific : Imagery of specific goals .
  • 5.  Motivational General – Mastery: Imagery related to feeling in control self- confident &mentally tough .  Motivational General – Arousal : Imagery for controlling arousal and stress level .
  • 6.  Physical Response in situation Environmental Should be similar to actual environment Task Need to be close to actual task Perspective Internal vs. external .  Time Slow motion as real time learning Imagery adapts as athlete improves Emotion Experiencing emotion within the performance
  • 7.  Imagery is a way of using our Imagination and it has countless potential benefit :  The problem is that without how to use our imagination skilfully.  Most of us use it worry ourselves silly  In a way worry is probably the most common use of the imanatiogin .
  • 8.  All of us worry at one time or another .it nature and sometime worrying even allows us to solve problem by examining the situation with techniques.  Improve Confidence Studies show that successful mental imagery activates our motor cortex and sensorimotor . Cortex the same way that physically performing that task would .imagery can improve performance increased confidence and focus as well as improve our ability to control anxiety .
  • 9. Imagery can used to develop qualities in yourself you'd like to have its like emotional body –building and using a technique called Evocative Imagery you can cultivate courage tolerance . Humor concentration confidence or any other quality you'd like to embody  Problem solving Imagery can be used to stimulate our creativity and help us reach new solution to difficult problems . One technique is to imagery having a conversation with a wise and helpful figure and see what it has to tell you about an area of concern.
  • 10. • The first skill to learn with imagery is using it to relax we describe how to do that and even offer you audio clips you can listen to . Regular interruption of chronic stress with relaxing mental mini vacations can sustain your energy your positive moo and ability to cope with challenges.

What is guided imagery used for us ?  Guided imagery has many used.  You can use it to promote relaxation.  Lower blood pressure and reduce other problems related to stress .  You can also use it to help reach goals  Imagery has a positive effect on heart rate .  Breathing and oxygen rates
  • 12.  Practice makes perfect. Imagery is a skill and just like ant skill that you perform in your sport you will need to practice in order to be perfected .  Quality not Quantity . Imagery is a mental skill you will needed to concentrate on creating and controlling your imagery which can be tiring when you first get started .for this reason it is best to begin your imagery training by imagery high quality imagery for short periods of time and then gradually increasing the time you spend imaging .
  • 13. Try to make your imagery as realistic as possible by re-creating important details of your sport setting . In your mind eye. By including details like the colure of your of your opponent uniform or the sound of the spectators cheering you will feel like you are really  Plan your imagery . Images of your sport can frequently pop into your head but to really benefit from imagery you should plan the content of your imagery to meet your current needs .
